what a strange evening.... Anyone else see that storm that rolled through. Lightning, barely any thunder, the power over in my area killed out, we had a huge surge in the house, reboot the computer and killed the street light. For some reason I had an impending feeling of doom.
I also finally managed to capture lightning on my camera. Only been trying for a few years. Just luck of the shot, no extra exposure or anything.
Very cool picture, KC. Looks like connect-the-dots to me. :ooh:
My bedroom window unit A/C conked out on my night before last and I tried sleeping on the couch but not very successfully. But I didn't see any lightening show. Wish I had.
There are some huge raindrops at the front end of this storm. They hit he sidewalk and left about a silver dollar sized spot, wonder how the size of raindrops can change like that.
That storm was really strong downtown. The thunder was really loud under the Lafayette bridge (in our warehouse). We heard a big crack so loud we thought a truck fell off the bridge! All the alarms for our tank farm went off and the fire dept showed up. Seems either the tank farm (Where we store aerosol propellant) was hit or the roof of the building. Not sure witch. There were firemen everywhere. Aerosol line was down and never started back up yet. I left at 7 and not sure exactly what happened. I know it was really loud though!
Our building #5 was hit twice while I was looking at it. It's nice that 3 of the 5 buildings have lightening rods so it absorbed the hits with no problems. What a downpour too! We actually had two fountains because of the drain spurting up all over the place. Beautiful out now tho.
Wow! NT called his mom to see if she would watch Lil' Roaster on thursday, they are taking him to Michigan with them for 4 days! YIPEEEE! What a bonus!
Yes! yes they are! I've been needing this break for a while, he has been driving me crazy lately. now with any luck I will get the day off of work on saturday, crossing my fingers!
So if anyone is bored today you can come visit me at the Carver County Fair in Waconia. Considering I have no idea where Waconia is.......I am lucky I can find my office on a daily basis. I will be in the agriculture building from 1pm to 10pm tonight. YIPEEE!!!!!
1st, I can still be a Bitch, just have to be very inventive. Our company just launched the wireless broadband. Our receiver is in the water tower in Waconia. So you have to live somewhere around 2 or 3 miles direct line of site from the water tower to receive it. If this goes well we will be continuing to expand the network. But hey, I at least get to eat fair food today!!
Technology is everywhere these days. Clark wants you to be careful when signing up for high-speed Internet. He’s leery of you signing a contract with your cable or DSL company because costs are so high. Not to mention the fact that new, cheaper ways of connecting are on the horizon. A third way to get high speed Internet is now in certain cities in Florida, Minnesota and Texas. You can now connect over wireless connections and via your phone line in some cities. A company called “Clearwire” is offering this kind of technology, which is called Wi-Max. Service starts at $24 a month. Also, Sprint will have a wireless Internet service accessible through your cell phone later this year. So, traditional high-speed companies have a lot to fear with these new technologies. They’re going to try to gouge you as a result. Don’t get taken. Hold out for the cheaper high speed service.
