so..... if theres a few of these available that are about to fall out of the back of a truck someplace..... can someone let me know....so I can kinda be there waiting, and get myself one, too??
Having the time to drive around by myself for a bunch of hours, in a borrowed car like I did, today......
the feeling I get when I cruise past a number of my "close call" places that give me chills and good/bad memories.....
like going through Newell park....as well as Cherokee a number of times, and Crosby.....
and the feeling I get when im in/near the "mosh pit" area and/or the "drop" spot at Phalen.....
Knowing that if i'm going someplace in the area, and also, knowing the fact that even though, I cant stand Como as a park as far as hunts go.... just driving through it never gets old.....
because as sucky as it was having the hunts there in 97, and again in 2001, and again in 2003.... they still bring back alot of thoughts/memories....
I've had closer calls at numerous other parks, since I started hunting back in when I was 6 years old, in 1987, than Ive had at Como, but I still dont get chills, like I do, when i'm on Lexington, and I take that left, onto Horton...past the pool, and the ball-fields, and then the right onto Midway Pkwy, past the picnic pavillion, and through the heart of the park.... past the zoo/conservatory, and the west picnic grounds....
and the feeling that after I pass through the gates onto Hamlime, it feels like ive just finished, and come up empty on yet another hunt out there, for whatever reason....even if there isnt one going on......and knowing that I get to do it all in the opposite direction, on the way home
being asked.....if someone happens to be with, that doesnt know......why I like to drive past these places/spots, and being able to tell them: "you'll never understand it"
and lunch's that affect you hours later too.
yeah... that does sound good.... I "think" I might actually try that tonight....
fun times...
JOE!

Jolene
but I've got something
I'd think I'd have a better chance stealing Mary.
Anybody else up for a round?
I never knew about the two willows at the south end of Phalen being of any historical significance, thought that was interesting.
