yeah...

thats something i was wondering... should they have yelled "fore!!!!" or is that just reserved for the "other" type of golf?

fun time though! Definately wanna do that again now that I know whats up.

Clue Master

Yes they should have yelled 'fore'!

Fricken assholes! Sorry about that. At least I yelled back at them but it was after the fact at that point. You both picked it up way fast. I think you can easily see why you compair your games to your other games than the other players.

You guys must have been good luck though since I got a new team record today!

Glad to meet your ol' man Nick. It was nice going out with everyone today. Thanks for including me in the PP deal earlier Timmers

Kaposia Park is the premier place in the cities for disc golf. It's usually back to back. I never understand why people shoot up on you while you're still setting up or putting your shot. It's not like they'll get passed you any faster. If anything it'll slow things down even more because you won't let them play though. I even told that group that we would let them fly through on the next hole. I guess there's dumb asses in every sport huh?

it happens..

its realy not a big deal.....but what does amaze me is that I've been hit in the back with a golf ball....and this hurt just as bad....

best part is when you suck...you get a mini medallion hunt.

Yeah I suck at discgolf too... think the first time I went, I sunk a disc in a swamp over at acorn park, and that was a disc someone else let me use.....

I've got enough addictions right now, I'll settle being a very casual discgolfer.

HOLY CRAP...you didn't tell me I was playing with the guru...

btw...after talking to my bro-in-law about golfing there...he was really pumped as he said that he donated all the cement for the pads to "jeff george". ....know anything about that???

Geoff is the course pro and co-designer for Kaposia. That's cool that your bro-in-law helped out the place.

O.K. I promised I'd post this....but its kinda hard to explain all the screwy things that went on during the entire day....

all I know is my parents got screwed....part due to the auctioneer....part due to other auctions in the area....part due to the people who bid on the home.

I'll talk about the personal property first...stuff like antiques, lawn tracktors, cars, etc....

2 things went majorly wrong...the auctioneer kept on saying the order of how things would be sold...then halfway thru the day he changed it up.....this occured right around lunchtime....

which btw was a major screw up for the auctioneer....he moved on the lawn tractors, bobcat, and other machinery....well....one of the buyers of this stuff went to lunch and missed the entire lot of what he wanted to buy.....

this happened because the order of how stuff was to be sold changed mid-day.

I had a bidding card to prevent/buy stuff that would go 2 cheap.

One of the items I was concerned about was an antique wooden cash registor that was at least worth $300 (but who really knows)...I wanted to donate it to the Dakota County Historical society... Well I noticed it went up for auction...he open up the bid at $200...no takers so he said $5....I was like WTF?? HUH?? then he said sold...and moved on....I was confused as all get out.... so during the day I kept my eye on it 2 see who bought it....well some guy picked it up and walked over to a truck...then walked over to the auctioneers truck and put it in his....WTF? is that??
Mon, 08/22/2005 - 11:36 AM Permalink
KITCH

OK....then the major WTF happend....during the part of the auction where they sold the home and old schoolhouse....

I know in the crowd there was 4 major bidders...I know all of these guys from growin up in this small town of 300 and working at the gas station in town....

they guys are all land brokers and develops now...the guy that bought the home his mom is a multimillionare.....

the strange thing was how the auction went down.....all of a sudden the 3 bidders knew who the other guy was ...(this is illegal in property auctions) (they can't talk during the auction---which they did for a second) at this point all bids just STOPPED...I mean it was a DEAD STOP!!!

well....later in the day I walked behind the guy who stopped bidding and he was talking on a cell phone....he said "I know...what was I supposed to do....I can't bid against John 'cuz I need to buy the land ....I can't piss him off" ---then he went on and on how he needs this land...I think its next to his...

You found those in Kaposia? Nice!

If you aren't afraid of getting wet you can make a killing at either North Valley or Acorn in Roseville. Both have over-pond shots that eat discs all the time. The number in each of them are milligrams. They are generally between 165 and 190. There are special 150 class discs also. You would like the lighter ones for starting out. Where did you find those? I can only assume it's one of those in the back 9. Kinda cool combining the two interests at the same time. You just saved over $30.

LRD means long distance driver. There are generally 3 classes of discs. Long, Mid and Approach.

Here's a link to help you figure out what you find.

http://wrightlife.com/site/store/dcs/B1/Disc_Golf?brand_id=13&submit=Go&sortprice=

The general rule for finding a disc is to call the phone number listed and if they are either out at the course or are willing to come out and get it before you are finished you can hand it over. Otherwise it's yours. Although you can always do what you want and claim that you're a newbie if anyone sees you using their disc. :eyeroll:

I think my (other)brother thought it was strange that you liked looking for our lost discs treating it like a mini treasure hunt.

As far as the 'eat shroom' goes. I think you can figure that out all by yourself. I have a strange feeling that most of us disc-golfers don't hold down any Wall Street executive positions at work. If we even have a job that is. :goofy:  :ooh:

KITCH

I found them in the ridge line where your brother almost went down the edge....I figured that would be the best place to look since I figured nobody would want to go down..and come back up....

I was scouting where to look the entire day...

oops...one had a phone no. on it..but it started with a 304 area code...

which is west virginia...i've got a feeling he's not around...
