Favorite Winter Carnival Stories of All Time

Submitted by Scribe on

This is actually a part of my honor's project, so if you could be so kind as to include in your discussion these things:

Did you gow up in Saint Paul?

If so, what neighborhood are you from?

Are you a "transplant" to Saint Paul?

If, so from where, and what brought you here?

Are you from "across the river"?

How did you get involved in the Carnival?

Please describe how you think the Carnival reflects the Saint Paul culture.

How much do you know about the legend of the Carnival and the history of Saint Paul through the Carnival?

hey Randy, one of the guys who works there is a huge St Paul collector so I never find anything rare there. I think those cans were only in 78-79 and 80? you can find them for $1 or 2 at garage sales occasionally - but you may want to buy it to drink --eeewee :lipsealed:

The individual cans are on eBay every so often... but I have never saw a six pack. And I don't remember ever seeing any that strayed from the age range that me2 has posted...

Up until 1970, Titan was a cousin of Boreas. He was from another Kingdom and known as "Prince of the Northern Lights" In 1972 the Legend was rewritten and Titan became an official brother to Boreas.

I'm guessing since he is the second eldest brother he still keeps to the "royal" look... Just in case his brother doesn't survive his run in with Rex. :goofy:

ha! that is funny! for my purposes - Titan is going to wear a Santa Hat. King of North wind - North pole.

It all began as a plan to celebrate Seattle’s centennial in 1951-52. The festival was designed to attract tourists and stress marine events in keeping with Seattle’s boast as the “boating capital of the world.”

Prominent business leaders, (known as the Seattle Salts and later as Greater Seattle Inc.) recruited St. Paul MinnesotaÂ’s water carnival director Walter Van Camp to help produce a similar event here.

The Seafair pirates, formed from a group of young, active Press Club members known as the Ale and Quail Society, were an important part of Seafair from its inception.

so are the pirates like cousins to the vulcans???
