I think my motor is gonna have to rough it for a bit and struggle through some regular gas for a few weeks. I hope it doesn't screw something up.

I can still manage 91 octane over at the gas'n'splash on 94 and white bear, they actually sell 91 at one pump at the same price as 87 at most stations. I'm just not sure about topping my tank off now at the current prices. Eventually it should let up a bit and I'll be sorry my tank is full of 3.50 gas whan I'm driving past 2.79 stations...

can't you buy a can of octane booster??

I'm not sure how much it costs and if worth it..

I hope it doesn't screw something up.

it'll probably run rough for a while after the 87 is out of it, but as far as screwing something up, it should be fine. if you're gonna do that, i'd say to run the car until its almost empty, and then yank out the battery for 15 minutes until the computer goes dumb. then reconnect it and let it recalibrate for the fuel.

Time to make these street legal?

how about quadrunner (4wheeler) becoming street legal.....Kinda like a modified motorcycle with 4 wheels...

didn't they make those electric/gas scooters street leagal recently? I seem to remember something about that back when they made em legal for 12 year olds...

might be worth the ticket....

heck I think the way to beat this gas price issue is to say...screw whats legal...ride what is getting good MPG...its your own fault if your riding something unsafe.

yank out the battery for 15 minutes until the computer goes dumb

Good idea but that screwed up a bunch of other things when I did that before. Dummy lights for a number of things stayed on and each component had to be reset manually. I like the logic behind that though. It might be worth it. Thanks

can't you buy a can of octane booster??

I always do. I added another pint with last night's fill-up. I'll bet that's gonna make it even harder to lower the octane now. It's about $4/pint at Walmart.

4 bucks a pint, dang, it might start getting to be cheaper to run your car on pure octane booster than gas.

lol

You might not want to drop from the Premium....

I saw on the new this A.M. the gov. has dropped the EPA regulations on all gas production....does this mean that we now are going to be getting "unclean" refined gas???

I don't know.....
Thu, 09/01/2005 - 6:14 AM Permalink
Clue Master

I think it only means that we can now get gas that's set for other states if needed. Like the south needs and Indianapolis.

<edit> Oh, EPA - Not sure on that. We could be driving on 3.2 gas in no time. It'll be like Sunday all week.

stay away from it..... it'll probably kill the car faster than its label warnings claim it can kill humans....

its good for starting a fire though

I'm pissed about the Kids Choice thing. We always had good care with them at the IGH branch. I'd give Miss Deanna a call on that one. As soon as you talk with her, shit gets done. At least you can set precedent right off that bat anyway.

Where the heck did you find full-service for only $2.99? Ordinarily they tack on another .20 or so over self-service.

driving past my usual gas station and seeing the price is down to 2.79, as my tank is full of 2.99 gas.....
Fri, 09/02/2005 - 11:38 PM Permalink
tim_the_hunter

Having this huge sense of accomplishment when I get gas for 2.79. 2.79!?!? that's a horrible price.

On a side note, it bothers me that we didn't even have enough time to complain that gas was over the 2 dollar barrier because now it's hitting the 3 dollar barrier, that kind of sucks.
