Just here in the last few days she's been in the hospital with an accelerated heartbeat and a new condition of dementia.
on the bright side of that, those aren't necessarily fatal conditions. the heartbeat (which i'd assume is the more worrysome of the two conditions) ought to be easily treated.
all the pain around here lately makes mine and tc's problem of sifting through 220 pieces of marble to find 75 good ones to use in the bathroom look like its a minor inconvenience. of course, we still need about 35-40 more tiles for the project in the right shade. (oh, and the 145 tiles we rejected will be going back to the home depot. no way am i gonna keep $600 worth of crap).
So sorry Terry and Inks...what a difficult time. We will continue to pray for you guys...
Otis and Payme... sometimes there is little you can say but know that your prayers and love are a comfort. So sorry that you are going through this - it is hard to be away from the people you love when there is a crisis
Feel almost guilty posting this but figure the cooler needs a little good news. My dad was released from the hospital on Friday and is home doing well. Thank god he is expected to fully recover. Thank you all so much for your prayers, wishes and egrams... the warm support really does help.
We had a plant wide meeting today. The management decided to "out scorce" all our work. They will stop producing everything on Nov 11th. The plant will copletly close on Dec 6th. My last day is Nov 11th. We are the companies only plant.
Union busters! Bastards. Looks like no severance pay for union members. Of course the office people get theirs.
That sucks big time 3M. I've been there before - it bites but you pick yourself up and move on. Just be sure to start jumping now on finding a new job since you'll have your co-workers as competitors out there. Good luck.
On a different note - Hey TMK & M2K, you haven't made your football picks yet. The spread has been posted if that's what you were waiting for. I picked all the favored teams except 2. Not bad for picking blind. I decided to keep my underdogs though. Unfortunately that's why I'm usually at the bottom of the pack. Good luck
I thought I had more time to pick this. I went to go make my picks, and I was 5 minutes late. I picked all the favorites, except for Arizona to beat the Giants. This sucks!
The first game isn't until tomorrow. I don't know why they would close down the deadline today. It was usually 5 minutes before the first game of the week. I'll look to see if it's some kind of preference I can change.
Hey CM. My Jeep is 44 miles from turning over to 100,000 miles. What's the drill? I stop the car, get out, have a drink and get someone to take my picture? Is that how it works? Guess I'll have to stay off the interstate.
Fire has broken out at the Stroh's Brewery in St. Paul. The building is also known as the old Hamm's Brewery. Multiple fire crews are fighting the 2 alarm fire at 707 East Minnehaha Avenue. Thick black smoke can be seen rising over the skyline. No word on any injuries
THAT'S what i saw!! i saw the big cloud of smoke while on my way to the fair to pick up my artwork.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED!!!!
unfortunately, i didn't win people's choice. the very detailed ceramic boot that was displayed by the front of the building won. it WAS an amazing piece, but come on...i gotta have more friends than that guy!!
I changed the preferences TMK & M2K so you can get your picks in on time. You'll need to do it before tomorrow night's game though. They changed the default on me this year. Sorry about that. :sheepish:
They said they are going to auction off the equipment and then they are not sure what to do with the building. They mentioned selling or renting. Interested? It only needs a 10 million dollar roof.

this must be the day for fires. i came so close to calling 911 on my way home from work this afternoon about a pickup truck on fire on 35e just north of 494. i would have called, except i saw a cop arriving on the scene in my rear view mirror.

Okay... who's bidding on this one? I can only imagine the 2000 "I had a Drink with Klink" would make this set go for more.

TC - Good news about your dad!
Ares and TC - You will survive the tile ordeal...hope you find the right pieces. Remodeling is such a can of worms, isn't it?
The good part is you have some time to get some guidance from displaced workers and get your resume in order.
Best of luck to you as you adjust to the whole situation.
Just have to count the blessings I do have.
Well they're just stupid poo poo heads. You're our peoples choice!
