I'm gonna have to run out there tonight after work.

35W through New Brighton had TREES on the interstate last night. The whole city was down with power.

Xcel reported 3 downed Transmission towers. Maple Grove, Shoreview and the New Hope area will most likely be without power till later tonight or tomorrow.

What was amazing me was the snapped poles. Massive trees that you never thnk you have to worry about. Then you relieze how heavy they are and when falling bit deadly.....

What amazes me is the entire thing of sod that came up with those trees. Ussually they break off at some point but it seems the entire root systems just tipped over. That's not going to be very fun to clean up... good luck man. :frown:

I don't have pictures, but last weeks storm that hit Amery Airport- that hanger and plane that was destroyed belong to my uncle Gordy. He only had insurance on the hangar. :frown: My cousin's hangar had it's roof torn off but his plane was OK.

In last night's storm, my 2 elderly aunts who live in Brooklyn Park had 5 down trees in their yard and the siding ripped off their house.

My daughter was coming home from Stillwater last night and a picnic table was blown into the side of her truck. She was at an intersection and couldn't move out of the way so ducked so she wouldn't get hit by flying glass. Fortunately the truck only got a few dings.

One of the maintenance guys here lost his garage from a huge fallen tree. He lives in Chanhassan. Luckily it wasn't his house.

    heh, nah, but I did see some chalk outlines of people on the runway, place looked like a crime scene.

    Wish I couls ued a chisel instead of chalk, make a more permanent mark. ah well, I waypointed it so I know where it was, not that I can go back tehre again.

    Community Runway Event was on Saturday for the newly constructed runway. Probably the only time you'd ever be allowed to legally walk around on a runway at the airport (unless you got a job there...). Far as I know, I was the only one (from here) that went. Wasn't terribly publicized, but given the area they let you on, if it had been state fair style advertising, place woulda been overcrowded.
