I know they wanted to extend a bike path along Diamond in downtown for a bike path to Vento reserve into downtown. Haven't heard about any bike paths for the King of Diamonds.

What exactly is a
high-value job?
I am responding to Malcolm W. McDonald's Sept. 23 letter, "Making the most of losing a plant," regarding the loss of more than 200 jobs at Diamond Products Co. One hundred seventeen of these displaced employees belong to the United Steel Workers Local 11-409. These union members, many of whom have worked at this location for more than 30 years, are performing jobs that McDonald prefers not to have in the community.
Apparently, the people associated with Mayor Randy Kelly only want "high-value jobs." What is a high-value job? Making $100k a year? Wearing a suit to work? The jobs that are being eliminated were good-paying jobs that supported both the local businesses and the city's tax coffers.
For someone to be excited that this property is now "available" to redevelop shows the narrow-mindedness and ignorance of those working for Kelly. It is no surprise that Kelly is not anticipated to be re-elected if he is surrounding himself with people who share similar viewpoints.
I find it disheartening that someone would prefer to have "a redevelopment opportunity" rather than good-paying jobs in the Lowertown area.

I forget who gave me this guys name (me2 I think) but heres an e-mail I got back from him. (he's writing a book about St Paul place names) I've been corresponding back and forth for about 3 months now with him (off and on) about different places that I grew up by on the east side. So if you ever see the book, look for my name in it!
Thanks so much for your help! I am running out of time so I am not sure I will be able to get your most recent additions in the book; the fact they are gone also makes their inclusion a little "iffy." But what you have given me has been most helpful. I would like to include your name in the credits for the book, why don't you send it to me?
Here's a shot from North Dakota taken earlier today. I received it from a friend of a friend so I can't confirm yet I can't deny it either. Pretty big stuff for an introduction to the '05-'06 winter season. I can't seem to resize it within the edit mode. It wouldn't open automatically either.
I dont believe those guys....its all a guessing game....
but thats still gotta be a good gig....
If it rains all super hard, you just gotta stand outside with an umbrella so the viewers at home can see the proof.....and say stuff like... "as you can see its raining pretty hard out here. so if your inside, dont come out!!"
anyone else see or hear the fireworx downtown last night?
that scared the crap outta me.... they should warn people when they're gonna do stuff like that...
after jumpin to conclusions, and realizing that Canada was infact not attacking us.....they had me checkin the calendar to see if it was some sort of holiday that I forgot about.....
I bought a Canon Digital Rebel Camera about a month ago. It's a digital SLR camera, so you can switch out the lenses.
I of course want to buy a few lenses, so I started shopping around. They ain't cheap, so to save money, I thought I'd check out e-bay.
Well, I've come to the conclusion that people that own Canon cameras, and shop on E-bay are idiots.
They're paying more for used lenses than you can buy new online at reputable businesses.
So because of their ignorance/stupidity, they're screwing me out of getting a bargain.
::slams head on desk::
