even during the day...
The 3 rivers park district specifically say that dogs are only allowed on marked trails. The 3 parks in MG that allow dogs and fit the other clues are Elm Creek Park Reserve, Fish Lake Park, and Eagle Lake Park. But Elm Creek PR also has an off-leash dog area.
Note there are other parks in Maple Grove that are not on the 3 rivers park district site so I'm 100% on this conclusive on this.
and than changed the one...to get the line!!!
I told him my GSAK -"geocaching swiss army knife" is at home...I didn't know how to get a line without my damn software...
I could fudge...but by the time I figured it out Mucky already was beating me to cords being there...
it takes time when you don't have the tools you like to use.
Timmers? Pissy?
Naw!
Maybe you guys will wrap up this hunt today! I'm counting on CM finding the one at Lake Harriet.
One of three locations in Maple Grove you can reserve pavillions for events i.e. reunions etc.
You can fish, and boat along the Elm Creek canal that leads into Rice Lake on the NE corner.
Learning... There are lots of trees planted in memory of children lost to loved ones throughout this entire park. Every tree planted has a small bit of information about the tree.
Congrats Mucky & Pay Me!

Calhoun, Harriet, and Lake of the Isles are each about 2.75 miles around. Only Calhound and Lake of the Isles is connected though. They used to be connected via what we called the loop.
Kelly Kitchen of St. Paul and friend Tami discovered the first mouse in the bi-annual MINBIN $5,000 Mouse Hunt. They spent about four hours in the field and ten hours doing research online to bag the rodent. Interestingly, Kelly and Tami met while searching for the St. Paul Winter Carnival Medallion Hunt. Congrats to Kelly and Tami. You're now $1,000 richer.
Here is a full list of the clues for Mouse 1, reason for each, and a description of where the mouse was hidden:
Day 1 Clue: Who canonized him capitol anyway?
ANSWER: St. Paul
Day 2 Clue: Bring a trash bag with you. Pick up all this litter. But make sure you don't throw me away.
ANSWER: The mouse was hidden with little and various refuse, and could have been easily picked up, or thrown away. We asked to bring a bag because it was our hope that during the search, someone might help clean up.
Day 3 Clue: Oh gross. I think a fish just farted.
ANSWER: This mouse was hidden in the water at the edge of the lake. This clue indicates the mouse is in/near water.
Day 4 Clue: Nice work Nussbaumer. I have not been found yet.
ANSWER: Frederick Nussbaumer, Superintendent of Parks from 1891 to 1922, worked tirelessly to create an outdoor haven for the area's urban population. This mouse was located in Como Park, on Lake Como. Nussbaumer strongly advocated for a wide variety of free or reasonably priced recreational activities, services, and educational opportunities for all park visitors. The park as we know it today continues to carry out this original vision (except that unsightly litter is obvious everywhere in the water).
Day 5 Clue: Near W 093 08.423
ANSWER: This was a GPS Clue.
Mouse was found at 9:43 a.m. C.S.T. on 10/25/2005. Unused clues listed below.
Day 6 Clue: Is that an old concrete pipe?
ANSWER: Mouse was hidden on the shoreline, in the water, by an old concrete drainage pipe that is underwater.
Day 7 Clue: To my fishing peer: look for the fishing line.
ANSWER: The mouse was hidden 100 yards to the left of the fishing pier. The mouse was in a plastic bag which was attached to a stump by a piece of fishing line.
Day 8 Clue: Who knew they stock walleye in this 66.7 body?
ANSWER: Lake Como is 66.7 acres and is stocked with Walleye.
Day 9 Clue: Sit on the rock wall. Contemplate all that is wet.
ANSWER: The mouse was hidden near a rock wall on the waters edge.
Day 10 Clue: I'm feeling zippy today. Can you lock in my coordinates?
ANSWER: Mouse was double-bagged in clear ziplock bags. Alludes to the formerly mentioned GPS coordinates.
Day 11 Clue: Near N 44 58.579.
ANSWER: Final GPS coordinate.
BTW, I think I noodled the Valhalla connection to Harriet. Not sure if this has been posted, because I sort of skim this thread.
The first female astronaut was named Harriet something. She is burried in Valhalla NY and has a monument there.
Where else you gonna get "Valhalla"?
 :eyeroll:
you can say YES!...

hmmm interesting....I've got a feeling all of these will have cords...
weird...I don't recall having the mouse in my hand during the photo....heh....oh well...
also.....
they did take it apart and check the inside...for some reason.....
Not that it matters for the hunt. Just sounds familiar.
I did notice that besides the #4 written on the mouse that there was a number 9 scratched into it.
anyways....
this company is cool..nice guys!!
only 4 people working for them...OTiS? maybe you can hook with them...
The one Steph found was sitting on the ground like a rock. So with the park being as big as it is I doubt it will be buried somewhere.
You have my number if you think of anything you think I should know
Always seems like these things get found when I have to work. Very frustrating, I can't even get out to look....
I guess I could try the calhoun one, but I don't even know where to start looking. Probably will be found before I get out of here anyway. BTW isn't there a 1 find limit? heh!
he called and goes "who found it!?!?!?"
I figured he knew about it.
But he was talking about my hunt from last week...
