Rick's got a sense of humor, but it's more the Garrison Keillor type of sense of humor.

Funny thing is, Garrison is from St Paul....

I love Garrison Keillor! Reading his "Homegrown Democrat" was like reading my biography. We grew up in the same time frame. Even attended the U of M at the same time.

Garrison Keillors house up on Portland Ave ROCKS BIG TIME!!!!

It was designed by Emmanuel Masqueray -same guy who designed the Cathedral - they are the only 2 structures designed by this guy in St Paul.

heard through a grapevine that Keillor was planning to move .... wonder if he will keep this house ---- grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I WANT!

Secret? According to The Rat, you should be proud of that!

But seriously, Rick's a good guy, and contrary to popular belief, he can be very funny at times.

I just disagree with him on just about everything.

He's taking Prairie Home Companion on the road next year, but it's only a one year commitment. Hopefully he'll return to the Fitzgerald after that. My theory is he's trying to capitalize on his movie which will be released in the summer of 2006.

thanks OT- thats exactly right!

I wasn't quite sure what was up when I saw the people camping out the other day down there. Someone said it was for his last show? or something. I couldnt imagine him leaving when the movie was coming out for here

I agree. I always find his lost medallion hunter remarks humorous. Although his last one wasn't up to his normal caliber. Come on Rat toss another gem out there.

Just an update on the Fox 9 investigative report fiasco...

If anyone is watching the Gophers on TV this weekend, you might want to listen for the "Fox 9 Sucks" chant, because it will be going in full force. "Kare 11 rejects" is also a strong possibility.

The thing that bothers me about the U of M hockey players isn't the fact that they're drinking beer. Even though they signed an agreement with both the NCAA and the U, you have to be realistic. But their arrogance and stupidity in doing it in a public place upsets me.

Back in the ice age when I attended the U, I partied with some U of M hockey players whose names shall remain a secret. :pbpt:

Were they really drunken meatheads, or just drinking?

The whole story was timed for Lurk Around with Camera Week a.k.a Sweeps Week? That's sad and funny at the same time.

You're really developing a Puritanical Streak, JT. Methinks you doth complain too much.

Still pissed that the jocks got all the girls in high school?

Ha! You'd be pretty surprised if I had named names. Several of them hold prestigious positions at both the U and in government right now. And I find that refreshing. That your normal, everyday grunt can become someone influential.

Wrong answer Timmers.

They were stoopid for underage drinking period.

Now they should face the consequences for their actions, and the U of M should suspend them.

Do they have a choice? If they ignore it, what does that say about the agreement they signed? They set a precedent in this case and they might as well throw out the eligibility form.
