Heh - I never really noticed the post numbers before. I see that THX went up 2 but it wasn't in here. Must be in his superdeedupersecret thread.
Hey OTiS - We're the comedy team the weighs and posts the same -
Just got in from repainting the side of the garage that my son had scraped. Touched up the paint on the front of the garage. Haven't touched the sofits or trim yet. I don't feel comfortable on the ladder when I'm by myself. Do you think the kids will buy that excuse?
My fingers are so cold I keep making typos and this is taking me way too long to type.
Been there 3M - Sorry I can't give you any words of encouragement other than life goes on. Friday will suck - I guarantee it. I still remember how it felt. I was at mine for 15 years before our crew was outsourced. The party at the bar afterwards was a good idea since we all got to cry together. :frown:
Mikey! So glad to see you stop in and let us know you're still walking and breathing.
You will find something else, but it will take awhile to get over the loss of something you've been doing for 18 years. It's like a breakup of a marriage. A big part of your life will change.
Hope the walk to the other side where there is a new beginning comes swiftly.
The party at the bar was LAST friday. (the 11th). I've been trying to read all the posts since then! The bar aws really fun! Everyone it seems was there, exept the management!
I think that me being there right along with the crew gave them some sort of feeling that there really wasn't anything that could have been done since I was out of a job just like they were. I had lots of thank yous given to me that night for keeping them on board as long as possible. It helped and hurt at the same time. To be honest, I haven't found that same 'work family' atmosphere since I left. I meet more with my old crew than I do with my new one.
Life does go on! I'm really looking forward to a new career in facilities management. Now I just gotta get into century colledge by jan 8th. Lots of hoops to jump through. Sorry to hear about your grandma OTS.
My grandma had surgery today to remove a cyst (sp?) that they thought might be cancerous.
GOOD NEWS!!!!!!
It was benign!!!!!!
We also just moved her into an assisted living appartment, and she already started making friends so that will be good for her.
I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest or shoulders or something because we have been worrying about that for a while now. When the surgeon told us I wanted to jump up and give her a hug, but I resisted.
The last day at work really sucked! They decided that they were keeping 18 more people 'tll Dec 9th. This was announced on our last day. I went all day not knowing for sure if I would have a job monday or not. Ten minutes before the end of our shift I found out I missed the cut. Was really hard to know what I would have done if I could stay. We all had a choice to stay or leave if it got down to us. I'm glad I did not have to make that decision. They made it for me. I was a very emotional day.
Some people are still working untill Dec 9th now. Some time next summer there should be a wrecking ball under the Layfayette bridge.
That is probably what did it. Me and the son member of this family went to take care of some chores for my Mom. Inks said it wasn't real long after we left that we had service again.
Not that I understand any of what you posted there. :pbpt:

One more day in hell and then it's onward to new and better things. 8 hours. I wonder if I can stand it.
Been working 16 hour days the last couple weeks. Missed a lot of posts!
I don't have a job anymore as of friday. Almost 18 years there....
Thanks for asking about me!
Nice to see you stop in.

The overall cancer rate has been climbing since 1995, driven by more prostate cancer in men and lung and breast cancer in women.
I wonder if they are referring to the numbers or percentages. Because I would assume the numbers would go up as the population does anyway.

They had it fixed at 7:30ish it looks like.

Time to hit the sack. One last day in hell and a party to celebrate at the end of it.
