what's scary is - that isn't a pillow to make me look that fat. I just squeezed on size 3 shorts and all my fat just popped over the top.

the PBR was yummy - I love as I'm licking the jello off her leg, in my hand I have a jello shot topped with a twinkie.

those are great. in those photos my boyfriend (dirty white t-shirt) got his outfit by going into his brothers room, removing clothes from the floor - spraying them with febreeze (for the stench factor) then hung them over the fan to dry for a while.

ME2 - yeah there is some partylite on the walls of her house. Its an extremely nice house, I"m sure the neighbors loved it when we covered the outside in old laundry.

I suggested it OT. I had that same salad! It was great, shared with the hubby. Try the deli meats there. And anything in the grocery that has the brand name Archer Farms is actually a Target brand--- good stuff. The tuxedo cake is nummy wum wum (a phrase my husband uses). Next time we're going to try one of the take and bake pizzas. :pbpt:

Ok, here are some helpful hints when mailing your Christmas cards this year. Every year we see people who wait until the last minute to send them, and they make mistakes.

1) ALWAYS, ALWAYS ALWAYS put a return address on your mail. If anything is wrong with your mail or it is undeliverable for any reason we can return it to so the problem can be fixed. Also check your return address labels are correct, you wouldn't believe the amount of return addresses that are incorrect.

2) Never reuse postage, the usps can usually tell if you are reusing uncanceled stamps. It'n not worth saving 37 cents.

3) Make sure all your mail is sealed.

4) Do not put bulky items (candy, jewelry, etc) in first class letters. It requires extra postage and needs to be in a padded envelope.

5) Perfectly square cards require extra postage, this is because of their odd shape they can't be machine sorted and have to be hand sorted. (machines process 30,000 letters and hour, St. Paul has 20 of them. Much cheaper than hand sorting) I also notice a lot of cards for sale this year with crap glued on the front. I'm sure they will not process well or will require extra postage if they are too bulky.

6) Mail early, first class letter usually take 1-3 days to get there. (Depending how far it's going)

7) Double check everything before you drop them in the box. Check with your local PO to make sure your postage is correct to avoid delay. If you don't know a zip, you're better having no zip than putting down the wrong one.

:ooh: Packages- the more packing material, the better. If it's breakable, send it UPS. They have much better sorting equiptment for packages. Sad to say but the USPS uses the old "toss and throw" method for the majority of packages and priortity mail.

Merry Christmas!!! :pbpt:

every year we get a Christmas card for the people living at the same address cept in South St Paul ---they always put our zipcode - we told the people in South St paul but they said they didnt talk with the couple in Woodbury anylonger to tell them to change it - oh well- too bad they never put money in it or send a gift :pbpt:

I have a new carrier and in the past couple of weeks I've gotten two pieces of personal mail for the people who live at the same address but a block up from me. One obviously some kind of invitation and the other a postcard from sunny Florida. Makes me wonder if I'm missing any invitations or important mail.

Snail mail sucks and so do most of our carriers! We have a different mailperson every day since we fall on a 'leftover' list of some sort. I'm always getting the three other addresses that are the same # as mine but different streets. Now I'm starting to get all the apartment mail from the other side of town that isn't even close to our # or street. Our whole area of town has bitched and bitched to the postmaster in SSP about the issue and he basically says that there won't be any changes because of where the routes land. We are still paying on a settlement from 6 years ago because the court date notice never made it to us. I trust the mail as much as I trust lawyers. :frown:

I also got a letter from the city concerning an important meeting that was postmarked October 6th that didn't get put in my box until October 14! They could have walked it over here!

Just cuz thing are postmarked doesn't mean they are necessarily mailed that day. Every business, gov't agency, and even individuals who do alot of mailing (ebay sellers) have postage meter machines. Many times drop shipments take several days to process then they "drop" off all of them at once.

I think mis-deliveries with the same street numbers is computer related. Most of your mail is computer sorted and it is put into walking sequence for the carriers instead of clerks doing it for them. Each carrier delivers tens of thousands of letters a day, and management keeps widening their routes and so of course with time contrainsts mistakes will be made. There are more mistakes but it saves the USPS money which keeps postage prices down. But I encourage people to call and complain, maybe they will stop cutting staff, but that may mean raising postage more often than once every four years.

Before this turns into a big bitch session where everyone gripes about the 3 times a year they have a screw up; Remember this -- The USPS is the ONLY self sufficient gov't agency that DOES NOT RELY ON PUBLIC TAXES. All of the money it uses comes from the cost of postage. AND the Untied States has THE MOST efficient cost effective delivery service in the world. You can send a first class letter all the way across country for .37 and in 87-96% of the time it get's there in three days. The next closest country is Japan and to send a letter there it's around $2.00. (Last time I heard) Ask anyone from other countries how much to send a letter was and how long it took to get there - you'll be amazed.

3 times a year they have a screw up

I'd pay $2 a stamp if it only happened 3 times a year.

It's nice to see you stand behind your company tates, but ask OTiS on how it is to stand up for something that people could only bitch about. I'm in kinda the same field where if everything is running fine, nobodys really says anything. You'll probably never hear a story of how great the postal service ever is other than the cost issue. And even then people will complain. Either way, the USPS screw ups keeps companies like UPS and FedEx in business. Which have their share of problems as well.

I will say that UPS and Fed Ex have their niche. I would never send anything breakable or overnight by the postal service. The USPS doesn't make much money from those services therefore they don't invest in more efficient ways of sorting and delivering. Most of our revenue is from bulk mail and first class mail. Priority was suppose to be our cash cow but that has been lack luster too.

I love mail. There is nothing more exciting then getting a hand written letter in this day and age to me (well unless my Mother sent the letter - that's not exciting)

I don't like my mail man tho. My dogs are also not fond of him. He approaches my house with his mace out. The dogs are behind triple strength glass and the doors are locked. Until they get opposable thumbs, he's pretty safe when they are inside.

Yeah a few years ago I forgot to let the dog in before the mailman came. I usually make sure she is in before he gets there just to avoid a problem. (They can refuse delivery if they feel a threat) Well I notice her looking intently at something with her tail wagging. So I went out and there was our mail man standing frozen with his bag in both hands in front of his groin.

I grabbed her and said "it's OK she's friendly"

He said "Yeah - that's what they all say"

I made sure I didn't have her out at that time again. :sheepish:

Ha Ha Ha -- Actually dog bites are the number one on the job injury for carriers, that and slips and falls cuz people dont shovel their sidewalks.

I'm not a carrier, I'm a clerk. So I don't know all the ins and outs of the jobs, just that most carriers love their job.

My mail carrier left a note one time that he wouldn't deliver my mail because I had some ice on my side walk. Hardly any at that. I salted and he came back to delivering my mail and cutting right across my 2 feet of snow in my lawn. Right through my christmas statues. WTF!

this guy is a jerk tho. Not just to me. I've stood outside and handed him back HANDFULS of mail that go to the other peeps on my court and he just sort of shrugs.

My pups are pretty scary looking, but a dog inside a locked house isn't that bad. He's at a higher risk when he walks up to the neighbors box which is feet away from my gate when the dogs are in the back yard.

Guy I had before loved the pups - would bring them cookies.

I remember my mom telling me about that OT when she lived in St. Paul when she was a kid. She is a HUGE mailman whore.

Her mailbox looks like a mail truck and she bakes cookies and fudge for the mail man - she gives him bottles of wine. She knows when his birthday is. She knows he drinks coffee and he brings his cup up and she refills it for him on his route.

She gets really pissed when it's not her 'usual'
