I know that there is always likely to be some disagreement when a group becomes this large. Unfortunately, it's the kind of ongoing nonsense that can destroy relationships and the warm, welcoming place for which we've always strived.

No one else was privvy to the information we were given or the thought processes and discussions we had regarding this whole issue of Nick.

I also believe this was an unusual situation that we won't be faced with again.

I don't think a rotating group of moderators would be a good thing. I won't participate in anything that looks like that. It would open the door for previous decisions to be reversed and create an even deeper divide between people.

I wish, just once, that folks would accept a decision with some thought that perhaps they didn't have all the information.

I feel some of it may simply be a power struggle. Does anyone feel that we should say something to the crew about why we came to the decision we did? Something simple maybe? Or not.

I suspect that no matter what we say or do, it won't be right. Ticks me off too that THX said what we did is wrong. If he wanted a voice, he should have stayed here.

If we say anything, it should come from the moderator and read something like this:

Cooler Crew,

We understand that you may have a different opinion regarding the person known here as Wicked Nick than what the unanimous decision was within the group of moderators.

We came to our decision after very careful and thoughtful deliberation and with the help of information given to us that was presented to us from an outside source. We stand by our decision.

IF we decide to answer in any way, shape or form, that should then be the end of any discussion we participate in. If we don't keep quiet after that time, we will never get this laid to rest.

Nobody has won in all of this. Nobody. Even if you reverse the decision, there will still be people that will not be happy. We just can't satisfy everyone. And they did not have all the information that you guys had. Heck, people said that they wanted to stay out of it, they didn't want to know all that was going on, yet they want to criticize the decision. I say if individual people continue to have problems with it, they can discuss it in private or individually with the mods. I know you guys didn't ask to be put in this position, and you guys didn't enjoy this process in the least. Having all this doesn't help those feelings in the least. I fear that this will never truly be put to rest. It's really unfortunate that it got to this point.

I don't know that I feel comfortable putting Otis in that position. There's already some discomfort with the fact that there is a breakfast club. Basically we're putting Otis in a tough spot, where he has to decide what he does and what he says about what is in that thread. I say just let them troll, let them do what they want. I think with time it will die down. They have their right to their opinion. If it continues to be a problem, I say we just address it directly, keeping Otis out of it.

I think posting the rules should help certain things like this. I can just imagine how the 'secret' threads are talking about each other. Exactly where it should be. Exactly where this whole thing should have been discussed in the first place.

That's one reason I don't dislike the invisible threads. They do serve a purpose.

Of course sitting here and explaining this stuff to you guys would be the exact same as me explaining discussions in here with them which I both refuse and prefer not to do. I can tell you from just reading posts outside both the cooler and the BC on the boards they have somewhat different reasons for not liking how things went down.

Does it matter when considering or choice? No, not really because we got stuck in this shitty position to deal with it and thats what we did.

People aren't happy we all know that. They may or may not have valid reasons for how they feel. Since no one person on the "ableminds" board has a place to tell another how to act or feel for the most part we all should respect that. I can't for one say someone is wrong for feeling a ceratin way about things.

Keeping the fact straight that this is simple a chat board is all I can try to do from my position.

People spout off all the time on here about little things that piss them off. Sometimes it passes with no reaction and other times it blows up. It all depends on whos watchng at the time and who has the energy to push issues.

We deal and either move on or don't. Welcome to life as we know it.

I have a feeling that if we didn't ban Nick it would be tossed back into our faces every time we felt the need to ban someone for whatever reason. I can foresee statements like "You let some guy get away with repeatedly harassing someone else with concrete proof and you want to ban me for this?"

Honestly, I don't think that something like this will happen again on here. I hope to God that it doesn't. This was just a strange, special circumstance that happened. I think most things from here on out will be a piece of cake to deal with.

Plain and simple, we all knew when we sat in these chairs that something like this was going to happen.

We hoped it would'nt but it did.

and now, hopefully all we have to deal with is babysitting shitheads, so to speak, during the hunt. and hopefully there won't be much of that going on during the hunt, since this place should be pay to post.
