I would have to venture a guess that he wanted to make sure anyone who shows up after the fact mistakens him for a MOD. ALl the folders created by him now say Nemo.

He seems to have a new profile named THX 1138. So he renamed his old name and now is using the new one.

It's probably just THX trying to make a point by letting Nick in under his old name. I'm pretty sure that NEMO is an acronym too. I'm not going to speculate what I think it means either.

Even with the rules a person can create 2 screen names. I'm not sure why but that's what other forums say too. And besides, what can we do to stop Nick from registering under another name? That's the problem I had with this the whole time. It's too easy to work around. Especially when it's not a pay site yet.

mike never had a problem dealing with it at the pp when it happened. he'd bounce 6 or 7 mr. news's a night.

and then a bunch of us decided to have some fun with the mr. news about it :smile:

I think it's way sad that we feel like we have to walk on eggshells outside of here. Now I know why JT decided to jump ship. It's much easier to cause problems than solve them.

I thought I was signed in here to be babysitter not contribute to the structure change of the entire CC. I really don't want any part of this anymore either. I've lost all hope for how things are here. We were asked to do a job and then ridiculed for doing it. If this was a volunteer job outside, I would have left the first time someone questioned our intentions.

I don't want this BS falling on any of our shoulders.

If it wasn't for the background knowledge I would be exactly like the rest of the crew. Glancing at only the threads, there wasn't any issue at all.

And now that the e-gram thing has been fixed I don't see where there would be an issue. If there was, it would be there for all to see. Then addressed accordingly. Then everyone would have the same information that we would have.

Ya know, I kinda like that 3M thread. It's outside of here where you can go nuts if you want. There should be a civil place where everyone can feel safe but nothing says that we can't create something else.

We were given a task to do regarding this Nick thing and we came to a decision using the best information given us. I still think it was the right thing to do.

I'm not even sure putting up a code of conduct would help at this point.

I know that JT put up with some fall out now and again, but this is way beyond ridiculous.

It's time for people to grow up and act with a tad bit of maturity.

We have some options. We could all quit this gig which is a big temptation, but then what happens when we get to the hunt and all hell breaks lose somewhere? And then who "owns" the folder when it's time to pay up?

How about having us moderate just the hunt folder since that's where we'll need the moderation anyway?

All other moderation could be done by the folder creator themselves.

I guess I sit here and see all that happens, and this is how I feel. I feel that we should all just quit as moderators. Not have a moderator, or give the host powers back to JT. We have a community here. It's different things to different people. The moderators were given the powers to help provide peace and quiet to the community. While we didn't have explicit standards, it seemed like there were implicit standards that we tried to adhere to. Basically we all want to enjoy this forum, this community, this experience. We as moderators were given powers for that. But we're all put in a position where we can't enjoy things. So why go on like this? Why deal with this when this should be a place of fun, relaxation? If people don't want standards, then that's fine. I think we all know who we can count on for support and turn to in times of needs. Otherwise people can go on in their ignorance of what is happening to others. People can care about who they want to care about, and then just not worry themselves about those people who they don't want to be bothered with. If people have a problem with something or someone, they can deal with it themselves and not bother other people, because people don't seem to want to be bothered. Power causes problems, and we're the ones perceived to have the power. Then we can all be equals. Let Nick back in. If people want to associate themselves with him, that's fine. I don't want to give people reason to whine or bitch. I don't want to make out Nick to be the victim any more. Honestly, I'm afraid that if he's gone for a while, he'll try to make something up and pin on me. People can make up their own minds about things without even considering all the fact, without considering the perspective of other people. That's fine. We're a community, but we don't all have to be friends. You guys have gone through enough with this. I don't want you guys to have to suffer for the stupidity of another.

I'm with you TMK. But I still think that there needs to be someplace where anyone can go to noodle clues and not worry about me swearing or OTiS posting boobies. :wink:

We can just take care of our own threads since that's the way it seems to be going now anyway. I'd hate to let it get farther than it already has. We need to pull people back in.

If that's the case, then let the host take care of it. THX can be the swear nanny. I guess I just don't see how people will care if someone's swearing when they didn't really care that someone else was getting abused by another member. If they have a problem with the swearing, they can deal with it.

Before everyone jumps ship, lets bring Jana on board here. I believe we agreed on that a week or so ago. Then at that point, if anyone truly wants to give this up, we can select a replacement.

As much as I have disliked this whole ordeal, there are good reasons for having moderators...and hopefully we will never see the likes of this last situation again.

I OK with it too. I just need to put less emotions into it. I couldn't eat or sleep. And that's a day before Thanksgiving. I've come to terms with myself now where I can put things in better perspective.
