Comcast bozo's making me late for work because of them showing up late to look at a problem with my box. Then not having a clue what to do to fix it other than to say that I should wait a month and maybe the new updates will fix the issues.

I lost my cable for a while during the Vikings game on Sunday. After calling some of my peeps, it turns out mine was an isolated incident. So I'm hoping it was just a fluke and won't happen again.

Did I ever tell you that they drilled through my carpet and hardwood floor when they hooked me up for my internet?? :worried:

I lost mine during the game too OT. Just froze for a bit. Then I shut it off then on and had nothing for a while then it started working again on it's own. Strange how it just froze though, like a computer.

That's exactly what happened to mine! Until I tried to change channels, and then I got the black screen. Right after we found the rabbit ears to watch it on regular TV, it came back.

We lost ours too for a bit. It sucked.

They were within their time frame but I was requested to call in for an ETA return call if they weren't there by 1:30 because I had to leave for work. And if they couldn't get there by that time it was OK and I would just reschedule for when I could be home for the entire 2 hour window. I called CS and they in turn called the tech. He never called me for 30 minutes. I called back to reschedule and they called them while I was on the line and said they were on their way. They showed up 30 minutes later. :eyeroll:

I usually watch both HD and Digital channels for the game. That freeze always happens at least once per game on the HD side but this was the first time the digital feed was froze. It wasn't an isolated incident as far as I know.

Unfortunately ABC didn't broadcast in HD like FOX always does for our games. ABC was only able to broadcast 3 of the games that they were covering. No wonder FOX is nabbing all the big sports broadcast contracts. I'm sure they'd pay huge bucks to get that Monday night ticket away from those guys.

Yeah, I guess but I can't put everything on the techs. I can't believe that many of us had the HDDVR way before any of your guys did. I gave more fixit info to the CS dept than I ever received since they were never given the boxes until just recently. A lot of sense that makes. I know they wanted to get them out ASAP to ward off the satellite people but you better be able to support them before you do or it really doesn't mean shit.

At least that's what it sounds like they're going to do this time around with the net-phone system you're going to be rolling out fairly soon anyway. Maybe they learned from this last mistake. I assume you had your HDDVR for awhile didn't you?

If so, maybe you might be able to help me with a couple of work arounds.

To tell you the truth CM, I get to finally pick up My HDDVR tomorrow.

That's actually what I thought. The guys were saying that none of you were able to get them until just now. I thought you might have had some pull. :smile:

It sounds like you might be getting the newer scaled down version that doesn't include all the bells and whistles that they never planned on using anyway but interfered with the stuff that they were using. I assume that I'm still on the list for the next DVR upgrade box beta testing but can you see if they're opening up consumer beta testing for the phone service in addition to you guys? And if so, to toss my name on there as well?

I'm excited for you. You'll never watch a standard digital channel, if there's an HD channel available, ever again. Even if you don't have an HDTV. Much clearer. I'm just sad you had to wait this long.

I had the original single when it first came out and thought they would have at least fixed some of the things when they came out with the duals. The one thing they did do was allow for minor fixes through upgrades over the cable which I'm not sure the singles could do.

Is this stuff I should know about? I have no idea what you're talking about. :chagrin: Am I not getting the bang for the buck I should be? :worried:

2ndly, I read cm's post as that he knew Beta inside and out -then reread it and understood, but still think he has probably taken one of those apart too at some point in his life.

OTiS could actually be considered an Alpha tester and I would be a Beta tester. But they might consider him as an outside tester as well since he doesn't work for the actual company that makes the product. Their employees would definitely be considered Alpha testers.
