I haven't voted on this stuff at all. The opinions that I give are biased, yes. I'm giving them from a personal standpoint. I won't deny it. It's amazing how much your opinion would change if you had to deal with what we had to deal with. But as I've said, I recused myself from voting and discussions. I wasn't a part of the whole Nick banning discussion.
but you are a part of making the rules for us to abide by. This to me does not sound like the fairest way. You are so close to the situation that has caused the "rules" that I wonder if you can be objective?
It is also my understanding that when the mass email from Cocorosie came out that all the issues had stopped, that the person responsible for the harrasment had completely subsided. So why the timing?
Honestly, the other moderators were the ones that came up with a majority of the rules. I just okayed them. As far as being objective, you mean I can't be objective in the future if something comes up between other individuals?
I was saying things in there, but I believe that what I was saying was factual evidence. I was keeping it factual because of my position. You can't argue with facts. I can't say what changed other people's minds as far as the voting. I didn't have access to that thread.
Because all of this had a legal aspect of it. The legal aspect of it was pretty much finished, and the law enforcement felt that it was appropriate to tell people what had happened, so that others were aware of what had been done so they could be careful and be informed.
Yes be carefull and informed I understand. But we are not judge and jury. We know that at the time of Nick's banning the harrassment was no longer happening.
Hey, CM (or someone)...can you drop the "we value" your input part at the end of the header? cuz they tell us that at work all the time and we all know that they don't really value our input much at all...
That was my suggestion, becksie. It's taken from Able Minds and is on the left side of this page. Obviously someone valued my input and yours enough to change the original wording.
Mine's looking kind of rough right now. His eyes and mouth keep falling off! If you get a chance, walk down Summit and look at the snowman in the front yard of the house to the south of the tennis courts. I'm making one like that next time.
The vote was 5-0 when the decision was made to ban Nick. There have been a few changes since then that have sparked debate within the mods to review that decision.
I've been gone all night and have just come across this thread. I do want to make a thoughtful response. However, my initial impulse is to request that moderators respond individually to questions and comments. Why do you have to respond as one? You can start your posts with, "in my opinion..." By discussing things under cloak and dagger this board feels oppressive.
I just put it to the mods about posting individually since it would take forever to have the exact answers to any questions that arise. We could make any corrections later if needed.
FWIW - These rules are in place for the main Cooler Crew Shoot The Breeze discussion thread and the hunt threads only. The moderation of other threads are up to the individual hosts.
To be honest, with the new ignore feature on the site now people show be able to control private message issues themselves. Obviously extreme cases would need to be addressed.
That being said I doubt many people would want to spend the money it would cost to support multiple profiles in order to make a case extreme.
I've been out all evening... having just returned home now, which is why im jumping in at post 95... or whatever its at...
Im glad some rules were set-up, but im also kinda ticked at the fact that theres still an argument going on, with a large number of people as to IF i did the things im accused of doing...
I also dont appreciate someone trying to say that they know specifically how long something between myself and someone else had been going on, when they themself is obviously mis-informed, and/or likes to change "facts" on their own...
but whatever....
to most of those involved in the decision making process.... I dont think ive seen anyone say this yet, but "thanks" for atleast trying to get some crap around here in order.
Some have hosts. Case and point would be each cooler Chick has a thread. In that, they would have the ability to say they didn't want a cetain type of discussion happening in their thread. Any other threads can for the most part be avoided if you find something offensive in them regardless of there being a thread host or not.
With the Hunt thread and the shoot the breeze threads thats not really the case. Those threads are the core of what brings this entire group together. My opinion on having it apply to the just those two threads comes from that point.
Everything else is really no diffrent then the rest of ableminds. You go where you want and say what you want.
When I recused myself, the vote was 3 to 2 for Nick staying, and I didn't have a vote either.
Now I'm off to bed cuz I'm sick with a cold.
Nick knows when he can come back and what he can do to come back.
What can nick do to come back?
Then answer my question!

I've just got nothing 2 say....
but I honestly feel you will all see the longterm importance in this....
btw...99% of the time we all play "good" anyways.
People who complain about precious, darling, babies offend me.
That being said I doubt many people would want to spend the money it would cost to support multiple profiles in order to make a case extreme.
Lyrics lounge?
Coolerhead Threads?
Cooler chicks?
Geo caching threads?
Or are you refering to threads out of the cooler completly?
You all are hosts for all the threads in the refugee camp right?
Or are there individual hosts for other folders/discussions here?

Its easier said than done.
