It doesn't tell you what park it's at, but WHERE in the park. Or more specifically, what else is in sight from where stallion's medallion is hidden! IF you look in King Boreas's direction from there, you will see a tower or two . . .
It was 1987 at the capitol and the Security/Capitol Police were none too friendly on the matter. I was nearly arrested for refusing to yield and go home. But I proved them wrong and thet let the hunt continue for me.
I think 'set your own pace' and 'chase' combine to imply a jogging path or maybe a marathon of sorts thats run nearby... so anyone know where the St. Paul marathon route passes???
If you ask me...the medallion is not going to be found until the 2nd to last or last clue considering it is worht $10,000 this year...they are going to make it a long hunt with plenty of misleading trails.
Hmmm, sounds good King Marley, but wouldn't it be awfully quick to allude to the park name in the first clue? Hmmm, but then it does say to set your own pace...
The Medallion Hunt can do nothing to the Capitol Mall that Taste of Minnesota does not already do. Also, hunt ends before session, so the "extra security" measures will not be in effect yet. I don't like the Capitol as a hiding spot with these clues, but don't rule it out. The Taste crowd is walking directly on all of the grass, dropping butts, leaving litter, stepping in flowers and hedges, etc. Just a thought.
I thought of that Stallion. Makes me think they went out of their way to work the Vikings in. My pet theory is that the medallion is hidden inside something that has to do with the Vikings.
Allison--I agree. Remember early "tobacco road" clue from Como when disk was in Snuff Box? Too early for park, but just right for container. Touchdown Towel? It's about the size of the sock from Chair O key.
Set your own pace and it could make you an ace if your grasp of these clues is astute....Could it mean there's enough information to find the medallion in the first clue?
Hey Highlander if you are gonna claim the Aggies at least spell right man it is ALCOHOL, a high school kid should know that, now go back and fix your mistake and write it out ten times
clue 1 st paul park with or without a golf course just stay away if there is one clue 2 something the coin is in, ace bandage , deck of cards clue 3 a tower or two should be in view or a tower or 2 should be in view from the coins hiding place while looking north
Just teasin' George. Started serving Mass in Grade 4. Old Irish priest who coudln't finish Chalice prepared at altar. As you know, you can't dispose of the Blessed Sacrament, so being rapscallions, down the hatch. Highlight of many Wednesday afternoons. About half a cup or so, and we split it three ways, but we thought we were Sooo sophisticated.
I don't think you need to look north i think you need to look in the direction of St paul....Boreas was the king of winds who loved minnesota winters so much that he stayed in St Paul for the winters according to the wintercarnival history page....
I just think that once you are in the right park you will need to look in the direction of St. paul and you will see 2 towers maybe one hidden by the first one if you look from the right spot or maybe just 2 towers total that you can see if looking in the right direction
Drove around the capital today - Looks good also. To early to tell
Here's an early crack at clue three:
It doesn't tell you what park it's at, but WHERE in the park. Or more specifically, what else is in sight from where stallion's medallion is hidden! IF you look in King Boreas's direction from there, you will see a tower or two . . .

vikings depression = swede hollow
Howdy Terry & Allison,
Old Home week it is! I'll celebrate with some 'Yogurt in the Black Carton'.....
And who wouldn't!..... Great to be here!
The capital mall was 1989.
I think 'set your own pace' and 'chase' combine to imply a jogging path or maybe a marathon of sorts thats run nearby... so anyone know where the St. Paul marathon route passes???
Vikings were Norwegian...were they not? I do not beleve they were Scandinavian or Swedish.
mcgrove you all most went to jail for digging at the cap in 87

the marathon goes down summit to the capital
Marathon goes all the way down Summit Avenue...Along River Blvd ...to Lake Street Brdge.

Here's just an obervation . . .
Whoever wrote the clues probably knew ahead of time that the Vikes were going to lose, and wrote the first clue even before the game!
good point dave
Then perhaps he works in Vegas as well...
Hmmm Downtown Dave...are you proposing a contest? Hunters vs. Tasters? Who can trash the mall the worst? hehe
I would take the tasters, much more alcohol involved
TASTERS
I thought of that Stallion. Makes me think they went out of their way to work the Vikings in. My pet theory is that the medallion is hidden inside something that has to do with the Vikings.
King Marley....like Bob Marley at all??
They may have a lot of alchohol...but we have a little alchohol and a lot of ice picks...Hunters

Good Catholic boys do not engage in under age drinking......
Allison: like I said before...it's worth 10 grand this year...its gonna be a long misleading hunt
clue 1 st paul park with or without a golf course just stay away if there is one clue 2 something the coin is in, ace bandage , deck of cards clue 3 a tower or two should be in view or a tower or 2 should be in view from the coins hiding place while looking north
Hey George: too much ALCOHOL will do that to a kid :) you would think I would know that after going through Mr. Silvia's classes
Hey dave the serve wine at mass, and they let ya start when you are in eigth grade, dont know about you but i was 14 in eight grade
tes man just like him bob
that viking idea is pretty interesting alison . . .
but you never know, the clue writer could be a vikes fan and just through something like that into the first "garbage" clue . . .
George: 8th grade: we got it in 2nd grade?
see dave i was covering up how bad it really is, it is worse than we all imagined
Well...an hour and a half...then I have to study, I have finals in the morning...

think we can rule out phalen, no visible towers
I don't think you need to look north i think you need to look in the direction of St paul....Boreas was the king of winds who loved minnesota winters so much that he stayed in St Paul for the winters according to the wintercarnival history page....
I am goingto stick with my looking north at the highland water towers...it just fits too well
Medallion Freak--can you make that fit something specific? Looking toward St. Paul is like looking South from Santa's workshop.
Finals....ouch, Dave bet that made you keep coming back to
but then again thats just my interpretation of it anyways
Anyone ever call the stupid who wants to be a millionaire hotline...i keep screwing up the easiest questions!
I just think that once you are in the right park you will need to look in the direction of St. paul and you will see 2 towers maybe one hidden by the first one if you look from the right spot or maybe just 2 towers total that you can see if looking in the right direction
Highlander for 1 million dollars spell Alcohol, umm let me see Regis, that would be A-L-C-H-O-H-O-L and that is my final answer
yes yes yes i want to be a millionaire
it could of course mean, look toward DOWNTOWN st. paul, which could be a specific enought direction from many st. paul parks . . .
