Call me retarted, but I think there is a hidden message in clue 5

Saw that too Wolf, but isn't the clue technically for the 26th?

Thank, Wolfie, but I can't get this clue into BC for 100% sure. This one's not coming as easily.

Tho... I am thinking you gotta go into the trees, but still keep the ken (grassy area) in view...

And the 3M can be seen by the rec center. You don't gotta be in the Maplewood part. Trust me! I've been there enuff! LOL!!!

I'm perplexed why tree-phobic and red-letter are both hyphenated.
Wed, 01/25/2006 - 10:22 PM Permalink
Tatergirl

Dendrophobia = fear of trees

Any thoughts? My brain is tired. :asleep:

wolfpac

If your arobic and hardly tree phobic

You might make your outing pay

DonÂ’t be left in a lurch, do your research,

This could be your red letter day
Wed, 01/25/2006 - 10:24 PM Permalink
green

Cause that's the correct way to do them.

There is no "tree phobic" as treephobic...

And red and letter modify day (adjatives?) and so are red-letter instead of "red, letter day".

Not using the rite terms, but the correct ideas. Capice?

I really think this is referring to the woodsy cc ski area at BC. It's also the trails for mountain biking. AEROBIC.

Just word association while reading Clue, but when I get to "pay" and read it, I automatically say "pay dirt."

Never mind. I'm stupid. OF COURSE ittiz gonna be on the ground.

Back to noodling!

Another definition of lurch:

The losing position of a cribbage player who scores 30 points or less to the winners 61.

For what it's worth.

Maybe research why 1/26 is a red-letter day for either St. Paul or the Winter Carnival? I bet Me2 could help with this. I haven't found anything significant yet..

Thanks Wolfpac for posting it again for me!

Could research mean look back at clues and look for repeats?
Wed, 01/25/2006 - 10:32 PM Permalink
tom

Because I remember a 3M clue a while back when it was found outside of 4xx Ruth
Wed, 01/25/2006 - 10:33 PM Permalink
Love4Vino

I think the whole clue is a stall and all it's saying it - you are going to have to get out there and walk a bit to find this thing.

It's in the trees.

I think the red-letter day may mean something, but not sure yet.

My $$ is that it's somewhere in the woods behind the circus in Highland in a flurrie pack.

After clue 7, I will start claiming it's como, but until then - highland.

clue night I might even suggest BC for a bit, and then move back to como for clue 11.

(cause we all know, it's really at como.. )

I know I heard on K102 about someone (a news anchor) doing a Cross Country Ski thing at one of the parks not related to the WC. Don't remember what park it was or what it was for anyone know what I'm talking about?

1/26/1949 I lied: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (aka 3M) announces the invention of a machine for the mass recording of tapes.

From MN book of days!

The red-letter I think is in the 3M building. 3M has a research building.

"Oh the places you'll go" by Dr. Seuss

You can get all hung up

in a prickle-ly perch.

And your gang will fly on.

You'll be left in a Lurch.

You'll come down from the Lurch

with an unpleasant bump.

And the chances are, then,

that you'll be in a Slump.

National American is in a few different places around town. Their "real" campus is in SD.

Also, G had the noodle about the Scarlet Letter tonight at the PP. Hawthorne also runs into, I think, Marydale (I'm tired, so I might have this screwed up.)

And, I was driving around the NE part of BC a few weeks ago. I am pretty sure there is an A (and a B and C) street over there near White Bear.

ya know - in 2002, 2003 I can't find any reference in the clues as to what it was hidden in.

and this year they are beating us with the info...
