Only problem is they are mostly groomed ski trails that we shouldnt be on. It's posted on the signs to stay off the ski trails.

I just got back from battle creek. can see 3m perfectly, theres trail for nordic cross county ski. hills, playgrounds, ice rinks that lack ice. research i think means look back at previous years because something could be similar to a previous year. what vdo you think?

I think theres a bent tree right about where it was before. What was it? 75ft south west of the shelter between glenridge and hiilsdale?

Gotta agree with that....

It helps skim things a bit, and weed out un-nesccesary ones...

like this one...

It seems like I'm the only one who isn't completely sold on BC from this clue. I'm amazed that nobody thought the aerobic part refers to Circus Juventas. Also, after having been over by there earlier today, you definately could not be tree-phobic if you were to search down there.

I agree, there's more than enough evidence for it to be at BC, but I still think Highland is my number one. Based mostly on a hunch, but still. I'll probably check out both parks tomorrow though. I just have to get through the school day tomorrow, and then I have a three day weekend with plenty of time to hunt!

There is an "A" street near Battle Creek

no... you're not the only one...

Im torn between both BC and Highland right now...

and for that matter... theres probably a few others that if I wanted to, I could make things fit, as well...

this hunt is good... but it bothers me... usually im sold on a park by now, and have had my weapon of choice in countless piles of snow already....

and/or have taken a leak on the thing, where its hidden...

I must admit, I have no idea as to what the "red letter" at Highland could be, besides maybe either Famous Daves or Mickey's across the street (the red neon was hard to miss when standing just behind Circus Juventas). Is it too naive to pass off the red letter thing as merely a figure of speech, just saying that if you find the medallion, you'll have a good day?

The only thing I can get for highland in this clue is you have to be arobic to walk up and down those hills that are full of trees there.

Put another log on the fire ...

Lights turned down low ... fresh columbian in the bowl, juices and waters on ice, ray charles on the box, light scent of vanilla in the room.

'night all.

Nothing beats walking through Battle Creek on a quiet clear crisp night like tonight.

There is an A,B and C street near Battle Creek, but not really close enough to mean anything, IMHO....They would be South on White Bear Avenue from Upper Afton....then they kind of go round in a circle.

Come to think of it, most of the land around those streets is going to technically be part of the park....something to think about!

Quiet morning 'round these parts. Time for me to head out - if I can get through today, tomorrow will be a short one....and both Dad and I will be home at a reasonable hour tonight -- might get to drop a shovel!

Happy hunting all!

I'm sitting here trying my best to turn 'aerobic' into 'acrobat'. Pretty soon my brain will explode.

BC is sounding better and better.

Damn that clue writer. Damn all the clue writers!

just joshing- this is great!

Marnin', 'Heads!

I'd forgotten about those letter streets at BC. I'm thinking ittiz definitely the 'A' as that would define the west side as the hill and glen define the east. Too, A Street (Ave., whatever) is closer to Burns, though that may not have anything to do with it.

There's MILES of BC over along 61. In fact, BC runs up to and along Werner Road and then hits IM.

I've been waiting for them to pick that area o'BC (vs. the Maplewood part, the ski slope part, the rec area, the cave place, etc.) for years. I've never understood why they haven't because ittiz just so dang HUGE.

ittiz just so dang HUGE.

You're not tree phobic, are you sweetie?

Dudess! I told you about the letter streets yesterday, space cadet :pbpt:

However- that's a deadly place to hunt.

It would be fun though.

You didn't tell me about those streets, did you? I don't remember. I remember seeing them on a loopy-cul-de-sac-thighy, on a map.

Why deadly?

they wind through a quaint residential neighborhood on the north side. There are concrete structures that were used either for a bridge or the ski hills that were once there. There's a walking path, dense woods, and a very very steep slope that goes all the way down to the bottom.

Why you lie all'a the time?

You said you know the HIGHLAND area. Now you know so much about BC! You are the most educated foreigner I've ever met! Ittiz amazing!

You look like hell, too. Prolly got the same crud Ter's got... Best be recoupin' with fresh air and aerobic xcercise. Don't wanna give those kiddies the germies you got.

There are many things you don't know about me....

I'd really like to be sick today and tomorrow, but I can't leave my company in the lurch.

I had to do a fast edit- my shower cleared my head. I got lurch and Herman Munster mixed up.

Can't you go, shoot fast, run out? Like who cares if their hair's combed or they're crying?

Just shoot fast and flee!

What company and what's their number? I suspect ittiz Whooping For Joy cough and you DON'T wanna pass that on to the kiddies...

Green!!!

Me thinks, that after all these years - since 1998 to be exact, this thighy might actually be in your park!

green

Marnin', Ter!

Yuppers! It was yust a matter o'time. I'm just glad I lived to see it! LOL!!! They could have waited another nine years!

So, when they gonna do the 'take-your-honey-for-a-ride" clue? I've got that one nailed. They pitched the poop over the cliff, before they blew the cliff back at BC. I know about honey wagons and nite soil. I know my shit, I tell'ya!

JOE FOR EAGS!!! Lookey what *I* did Eags! I got the park!
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 5:14 AM Permalink

Only reason ittiz at BC is because I'd given up and moved on. Mom Press saw that, and after the second Clue went out and moved The Med from Chair-O-Key to BC, because they'll never ever let me be rite. So, that's how two wrongs - moving on and picking anudder park - make a rite!

JOE!!!

Terry

Claim that Eags joe, green.

You do know that park well....it's been 9 years of you being there checking all your noodles.

I think you're right - and I'm happy you nailed it.
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 5:18 AM Permalink
green

Did.

But you're giving more credit than due. I know the park, but I'd not say well. I'm very sure there are folks here that have picked, say CoNo, that know BC far better'un me.

But I do have a 'feel' for the park. Maybe thatizz knowing it. I don't know.

Thanky!!! I R happy, too! That I just plain noodled and didn't push. I've never done that before and it feels neat! I've always been amazed at the likes o'you and all the others that noodle well. I've been trying ssssooo hard the last 4-5 years...
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 5:22 AM Permalink
Terry

The one before that - for Eags. You usually get 'em.

So go out there and get the prize!
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 5:24 AM Permalink
Terry

And when you find that medallion, calls me at work and I'll meet ya downtown. I'll just make up the work time over the weekend.

And nice joes, green!
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 5:25 AM Permalink
green

I did, Ter. Got both JOES.

Yeah, find it. I'm gonna be kicking up that ken by hill and glen...
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 5:26 AM Permalink
green

Only way I'll find it izz if there are pointy finger signs "This way, green" leading me to it and a flashing blue-lite-special lite twirling over the hiding spot.

Terry

No green, this could be your lucky year. Go pick it up.

You'll die of sparklies when you do, but you'll die happy.

I like that Maplewood noodle. I thought that the city of maplewood banned the hunt is that true, I thought Boxmeyers article said that and I dont have it on hand.

Interesting clue! It did split us.

In highland's defense.. you really do see the Mickey's and Famous Dave's red letters from that side of the park.

Red LETTERS. technically, 3M is a letter and a number. FAMOUS DAVE'S and MICKEY'S are more red letters.)

But now I'm 1/2 BC, 1/2 Highland. But not digging tonite, I'll be at the wild game!
