There were several people at Marydale earlier today digging around.

No one there this evening though.

The red letters of Mickey's or the "Barbecue" on the Famous Dave's on W 7th good easily fit the red letter day clue.

One could have a nice aerobic workout climbing the hill up from 7th to HP through the trees as long as they weren't too afraid.

Evildoer - my take is that it should be one red letter....all those are multiple red letters.

I went out there today, Terry. No one there shortly after noon. Well, except for me. :goofy:

OT - Yesterday at noon, I had this sudden hunch and could make the clues fit there like the proverbial glove.

The clue last night did away with that thought - at least for the time being.

The lack of plural letter doesn't bother me, yet.

thats the same problem I keep having...

I can think of a buncha signs or whatever else with red letterS on them....

and its only calling for one...

thats one of the reasons, why I like BC

red-letters day doesnt sound right.
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 5:53 PM Permalink

Might not even be literal red letter(s). Might just be that 1/26 is a red letter day for one of the parks/landmarks. Like the 3M invention I found on the Book of Days....

or just saying that they have given you a really good clue, and if you find the medallion, iot would be YOUR red letter day...

I just thought of something. No obvious music/song clues yet. And the only book one found so far is the Dr. Seuss... which by the way is awesome inspiration during hunt time:

Here is another...

Contents of the What do you like about "your" bent? thread:

CATZ

Hi All,

I haven't ridden a bike, seriously, for 40 years (before deraileurs and wedgies). Recently, my son-in-law mentioned that he'd like to have a bent someday.

I started looking them over on the Net and decided I'd build one .... or two ... or three. I'll build a LWB for a start and then a trike. ... I think. (Maybe, I'll ride again. ??? Right now, "It's in the build".)

I've gathered a number of used mountain bikes for parts. I've started to lay things out for my first LWB. It'll have a 20" front and 26" rear.

I was wondering what "works best" or "what is liked best", about your bent? Is the crank better, if it's a little lower than the hips? A little or a lot? Is the seat better on top of the bike or "down in it" (lower C.G.)? Is USS or OSS better liked? Maybe, "what you don't like" would be easier.

Thanks, Tom

Red Letter Days is a Wallflowers album. Maybe we should be looking for a wall with a flower mural. Too big a stretch for me, but I point it out for the loose music reference.

I'm waiting for the history reference somewhere, and the anagram.

Something's really bugging me about these clues. If its Highland, where's the requisite no digging up golf courses clue. And if its BC wheres the stay safe stay away from cliffs clue.

I just had to get that off my chest.

Agreed ED, when I look back over past years, there are pretty significant things in clues 4 and 5.

Don't worry, I've anagrammed every phrase in these darn clues!

l and a mommy

It sucked being part of the working class again...I use to have so much fun at hunt time and now I'm stuck trying to fit in a drive by on my way to work :frown: Anyways FWIW I was leaning towards BC because of the Red Letter thing but there are so many ways Red Letter fits there that makes me think no. I mean the red letter as in Scarlet Letter A STreet or what ever, 3M sign, 3M's tape thing aniversary, Robert Burns day on the 25th I think I saw, it just seems to much so I'm keeping my options open I still really like highland (probably becasuse its closer and more accessable to me lol)

I sit corrected- I never searched the phrase, just the word.

So, a dead skunk? What are you going to do with it? Can I have it? I bought a dehydrator and it makes really good jerky.

HP is still looking interesting.

BC holds my attention.

I think it could also be in Malarkey Park, though.

What I've learned today:

when you are looking for red letters, they are everywhere.

Spent some time at Hillcrest Rec. It could really take forever to find it there, as the snow is now like concrete from continuous freezing and thawing.

I'm still looking for some street names, like Beechwood, Juniper, and Pinehurst near Highland Park for not being tree phobic.

Dave, I take it you're not sold on BC or HP?

I get discouraged with the hunts. It used to be that if you were good at solving riddles, you'd be pretty close to the puck by reading the clues and getting out and looking to see what fit. The past few years it seems as though they spend 11 days getting everyone to the right park, only to have a mad dash at the very end to some random patch of woods that have no relation to anything else and make it a crap shoot to find it until then.

That's my two cents worth.
