Go in and out of woods?? why would you do that?

I guess if a trail led you to go in and out.

I'm thinking it might be on the east side of mcknight, in maplewood, because that's where the kiddie waterpark thing is.

That's rite, Oldie.

And they're telling us NOT to lurch. Not to be in 61 thighy. Not the Hwy 61 side o'BC.

I have a map that refers to that area as Jordans Woods.

If this is the real clue, it appears that if you get out of the pool, you walk through the woods and out. I have to look at maps of Battle Creak because work kept me from hunting this week, but its making me guess if there are sets of woods, that its past the first set.

Tom - Battle Creek in that area is just about all woods.

Notice a trend between last year and this year. We will get clues that lead us to the park, a big park, over and over and over, but which don't really narrow it down until clue 9, 10, 11. I remember it being the same way with the last Phalen hunt.

At least it gets us to the right park early!

The THG doesn't show the maplewood side of BC. Anyone suggest a map?

Taking a swim on the other hand can be a lake, or in a pool.

queenmalley

I don't think it is in Maplewood 'cuz of that stay in your ken line; but who knows!

This thing must be really deep in the woods...

Try going to ramsey countys website, and look at the parks.

SO where is the pool at BC?
Thu, 01/26/2006 - 9:46 PM Permalink
Terry

There are acres of woods out there.

Stal, about 80% of the park area has been elminated.

I'm following these clues on a direct line. They're leading me plenty.

there is a trail behind the waterworks the goes in and out of a smaller woods. has a smalll bridge.

I like the trail by the rec center moutain bike trail, but that is mostly in the woods. It does cross the ski paths frequently which could be going out of the woods.

"Map Guy" book" BC Zone 1, "if you go up high enough you can see lots of water towers. View of 3M to the north; school; solar panels are on the top of the school (global warming); Just to the west of the park lot, a lake is a slope leading into the woods."

Winthrop street borkers, ruth street; but found there in 1995.

but his book! it's good.

I'm not ready to jump on the BC bandwagon yet. HP still works. Twixt High and low could be Uppder St Dennis and Lower St Dennis. It could also refer to the section of the park between the picnic areas and (sloping down to) 7th street, albeit that's a strech.

Which 80%? I think maybe half of the park has been eliminated, but it already was before the hunt started.

Which parts have the clues eliminated?

ED - I like your ways of working the recent clue into HP.

but I like the BC stuff too - esp. after taking a gander at Mappy's BC map tonight.

Sigh... still confused.

my favorite part of slogging is when someone gets an unauthorized version of the clue and posts it and then everyone questions the authenticity of the clue, especially when I know it's the correct clue.

tonight, queenmalley added a "from" at the beginning because I'm pretty sure she started typing "from the twincities.com forum" and then deleted most of it or moved it and left the "from" there. that made the clue weird and sound fake.

just kind of fun.

also interesting that they shut down the discussion with the clue in it since it was before it was officially posted, I would guess.

this clue is very high-creekish, like the first 5. no, it's more battle-landish. if this water freezes before this thing is found we are gonna have some issues. 11, 12 clues would be virtually guarenteed.

there hasn't been much talk about the maplewood debate, which I find interesting. after wakefield, maplewood got pissed and threatened the pp with legal action if they went back there. the question is, who in maplewood did the threatening. was it a city council/mayor type thing or the park board? if it was just the park board the point is moot because they don't control battle creek regional, but if it were a city decision I would say it doesn't matter who controls the park if they said it can't be in maplewood, it can't be in maplewood.

highandlow

does anyone else see highland in there?

There is one big difference tim and that Battle Creek is a regional Park, controlled by Ramsey County. Wakefield is a city owned Park and therefore run their park the way they want.

Plus in the rules this year there is no mention of staying out of Maplewood.
