It seemed like they tar and sanded the streets in St Paul every year back then. All us kids had a tar streak up our backs from riding bikes on 'em. The tar would kick up from the tires.
They had a button and the clues...they got the full prize.
I'm truly happy for them. Young guys with medallion fever - lucky enough to have the day off school - have enough sense to register the button, and managed to find the prize on top of it all.
well that's good (I just read the article, btw gotta get a new paper, oddly the one I bought the page with the article on it was so faint it was almost unreadable).
That was Snuffles, a dog often shown in Quick Draw McGraw cartoons
And I don't think he would jump up to get the treat. He was given the treat while sitting then he'd hug himself and go into that whole "mmmmmmm" "mmmMMMMM' "MMMMMMMMMMMM!!!"
Routine and jump into the air and float down. Man we're old.
well, it was 1959, and I don't have them anymore ...
Yep, I has a spot saved for ya ... just in case.
Shut up and dig!
Yeah, you can talk smart - you already found YOUR treasure! Nice job BTW!

just another addiction :pbpt:
Guess I'll have to go back to playing cards....ladies night tonight
At least I wasn't out slipping and sliding in the rain only to hear some teenagers found the thing 3 hours ago.
BTW did anyone hear if they had a button? I'm betting not...

a treat would get tossed in the air, he would jump up and catch it, then float like a feather down to the ground.
Both my girlfriend and i remember the cartoon but not the name of it....I am pretty sure it's not made up in my head :pbpt:

Snuffles' snack-loving trait was later incorporated into the personality of a dog named Scooby Doo.
Interesting
