Where is everybody?
I'm getting nervous.
The area on the east side of McKnight also has a geodesic dome shelter...that is also by the water works and the pavillion. I'm thinking there is also a playground over there.
I'm sure there are other picnic areas somewhere in that park - but I'm not picturing where they might be.
I like that side.
on the hill, or whatever?
my moms side of the family had a family re-union, at that spot a couple of years ago...
I dont, however - remember if theres any electricity happening there, or not.....
See y'all tomorrow!
The 9th annual Rehash Bash is but one more wakeup away!
Jan 27 11:26 PM - "not west, but east ... that could mean east side of the city ... probably means Battle Creek..darn, I was hoping for Highland"
Jan 27 11:29 PM - "well then again it could mean stay away from the west side of the park...hey, that's where the golf course is, on the west side of HP...could still be HP...Yippee"
Jan 27 11:36 PM - "Stay in St Paul, near basket and ball...well I guess there goes my ideas of Valentine Park, Tony Schmidt Park, Central Park (roseville), Kellar, Wakefield, etc, etc, etc ..."
Jan 27 11:36 PM - "near basket and ball...well there's basketball courts near the REC center at BC...but wait, the frisbee course at HP has those hanging baskets...brilliant! I'm sure no one's thought of that..."
Jan 27 11:49 PM - "near basket and ball...how does the ball clue fit HP...golf balls, that fits...Beechwood Ave runs parallel to HP...Beechwood...Beechwood...Beech...Wood...Beech...wait, BEECH! BEECHBALLS! I've figured it out..."
Jan 27 11:58 PM - "well I'm done noodling for the night...see all you other coolerheads on the flip, flop"
Jan 28 1:37 AM - "Okay, I've been laying in bed for the last hour and half, thinking about the hunt...and something just occured to me. The ball clue can't possibly fit Beechwood Ave b/c Beach is the proper spelling...DAMN, I thought I had it."
Jan 28 2:54 AM - "okay, I did a google search on balls and it didn't really get me anywhere. So, I looked at the origin of the word ball in the Oxford DIctionary and it turns out ball is an old ENglish term...that could point to Scottish HIGHLANDS"
Jan 28 3:16 AM - "oK I ran the wOrd ball through andy's Anagram Solver and it came back with only one possiblitity: "ball" - that doesn't really get me anywhere"
Jan 28 3:39 AM - "this is insanity I'm goingto Bed, realy...I'm so freakin tired."
Jan 28 7:17 AM - "Mornin all. Ready to hunt. What's the general consensus on the parks? I think I got a good beat on HP."
Jan 28 7:24 AM - "BC, really!? I think that there making us think it's there but it's really buried in Highland."
Well you get the idea. Sigh... what could have been.
The shelter thing on the hill was very icy the other night. So icy that you couldn't walk on it. Maybe it's better now that it's had more time to thaw. There are a lot of other tables in a different part of the park that we could be at too. I'll find it no matter where you are.
Ill bring a few extra chairs.
not sure what I'm bringing yet (but it won't involve cooking because we are thinking about going to the Klondike Kate Cabaret tonight). 11:30ish, right?
Did Diggin' 4 It mention that there is a fire pit/ring there?
Now i'm scared....
this isnt some kinda trap, to get me to go to a math class, is it?
I know what a dome shelter is, but geodesic?
Should I bring my calculator?
But, none at the Dome (I don't think...). If there's any outlets, they'll be at the Pavillion, where the locked toi-tees are. I'm talking Maplewood-side here.
Yuck. I'd rather the St. Paul side... Can't we just go in the rec center and sit on the basketball floor and nosh? (whine)
Otay. I'm going bock to bed.
In the Maplewood part where you see the geo dome, there is alo a semi-encosed picnic shelter. Lots of tables, dry, a porto potty, a kids playground, and 2 very large grills. Power is unknown, as I was a dork, and forgot to bring something to plug in.
The picnic shelter on the St. Paul side has a few tables, no grills, and is probably too small for the cooler crew.
I VOTE MAPLEWOOD!.
At any rate- if the building is open tomorrow, we could do a dash over there to warm up.
See you all there!
I did not see a fire ring there, but it was a dark and stormy night.
I'm going bock to bed fur real now.
Nytol.
Love you, too, Red Ram!
Where the heckfire is everybody? It's starting to look like very few people will be there?
I'm going to breathe into a paper bag now.
The medallion has been found. Who is to blame?
The finders? NO
The clue writers? NO
The weather? That's no fun.
You know who I blame?
I blame Kitch

Didn't enkneebuddy tell Diggin'4It that "potatoe salad" is really a 4-letter word around these parts?
I hope to gods she doesn't bring 24 lbs. o'the stuff...
I dont get it.
Is that like a red-letter(s) day?
She went back home with 23 3/4 pounds of it.
I, actually, LOVE 'tater salad (Think Tots will bring Her CASSAROLE? Man, that would be some good eain' fur shure!). I'm looking forward to Diggin's.
yeah... I feel that one....
those buckets of potato salad are huge things....
I've gotten them for parties and whatever, a buncha times, only to wind up bringing most of it home
Funny someone else being introduced to geocaching.
It was nice to see everybody.
Thanks for making us all laugh with the door prizes again this year KT!
It was super seeing everyone - and Congratulations to green for winning the gold shovel!
We had a blast, and thanks to the others that brought the lil ones... My kids loved it too.
Even kid#2... and she was freezing :pbpt:
got there, and only AW, KCOGRN, K T, and Green were left...
I descended upon the scene with a shout of "THIS PARTY SUCKS!!!!"
Kitch showed up later,. looking for lost tupperwear....
I still was able to eat though
and also brought my own alcoholic provisions with me...and am now slightly drunk. :ooh:
Its snowing outside.... but its not nearly as cold as it was at Phalen in 2004...
howcome everybody left so early?
I even wore my Canada jacket, with the giant maple-leaf on the back, to show my support for the canadian province of MaplewoodTownVille...
:frown:
still had a great time, for only being there for like an hour or so....
my thoughts, while I was there:
next year, I hope to try to somehow own a "short bus", for hunt related activities that will be re-named "The "sCooler bus" or something else that sounds cheezy....
If not that, then I will have a white van, which everyone I come accross will get to sign their name on.
Either way.... Wicked Nick, will definately be showing pride in his ride
It will be re-painted blue,
and on the inside, people can sign their name on the roof w/ the hunt year and whatever.....
Hopefully I can come accross enough loot, and then a bus thats actually for sale.
If not that, or the signature van... then possibly a hurse....
It would be cool with one of those, to make an entrance likc Clue Master does, down at the PP building, with music blaring....
mine would be "Another One Bites The Dust"...its the only song that makes sense for a hurse...
the other 20% is for if you see it at Cub/Rainbow, in which case, i'm probably just grocery shopping.
