"I'm sorry I didnt make it out with Nick this year, like I had originally intended to do. I had to work a ton of hours, and mostly didnt feel welcome. Even though Scribe ordered me to be there atleast once.
I knew it was at Battle Creek, the entire time, and instead of Nick once again, only coming within inches of getting it, had I been there, we would have been on the front page this year, instead of those kids. Good luck during the summer. Maybe I'll see you guys next year"
I did some more pawing through the diaper bag and came across a telly phone number, sos I called. She knew me, but I had NO friggin' idea who Mary MeXXXX was. Until she told me she's Mrs. New Daddy. She didn't realize she'd even left the diaper bag at the Re-Hash Bash until I called.
Sos, another Hunt successfully concluded, and this time I found what I was looking for!
I'm just gonna return the innards, wallet, diapers, stuff like that. And keep the backpack. I think I'm entitled to it, being the good person I am.
Besides...
ITTIZ GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that bus is sweet....
it would get through the snow, no matter what..
honestly... can you see it painted blue, with CC people hanging out of the windows?
I know I can.
That's fantastic!
I responded with "what the hell is that?" and he said "post that on the cooler"
Can I have those pants? I collect obscure things.
Good to see you Wicky Nicky!
Heh- I KNEW that backpack belonged to someone with a baby, Green.
Kitch needs it. Ittiz part of a set and his life izz in the balance here...
I knew I had to see you sooner or later...
presumably where a fire was at
thanks for the food, too....
its good stuff!
We've now had a good nap and, believe it or not, are a tad bit hungry.
Enkneeweighs, New Daddy graced our doorstep, here to pick up the diaper bag. I open the door to his knock, and there he is, just as cute as a [Cooler Crew] button, in that doofy hat he's had for at least the last nine years, leaning up against the door jamb.
And WHAT did he have in his hand to ransom the diaper bag??????????????????
BIG HONKIN' JOE!!! BIG HONKIN' JOE!!! BIG HONKIN' JOE!!!!!!
I hope Kitch gets his tupperware back. He can use that again next year for more jerky. That stuff was really good!
WELL GUESS!!!
You're never gonna find The Med!
It was a NUT GOODIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't that just too neat, cute, perfect, so New Daddy, and FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course I'm not gonna eat it. Ittiz gonna get as hard as Mom Press' Med because I'm gonna keep it for ever. Rite now ittiz resting in the bowl of my Golden Shovel.
I'll address that later, My Shovel, but ittiz gonna take some writing... I still can't believe ittiz mine.
Was so good to see Honeybear. And got the Noodle prize!
Told Allison and Kogren about one time I accosted a guy in Phalen (was prolly when The Med was MOVED to Newell...) that was sitting in his truck in the parking lot. Walked up to the truck, knocked on the window. Guy rolls down the window and I say, "WHAT are you DOING? You're a spotter, AREN'T YOU?!?!"
Guy's eyes get as big as dinner plates, and as he rolls up the window yells, "Lady, YOU'RE NUTZ!!" and he FFFLLLLEEEEWWWW outta the parking lot, squealing tires and laying rubber.
Yust doin' my yob. Annudder Spotter BUSTED.
There was this very cute young gentleman, maybe about eight, nine. I said "Hello! Welcome! What's your name?"
He said, "Oliver. Thanks. It's nice to be here," or something close to that.
So I asked him, as he was all by himself, "Are you here alone?"
And he points to Scribbles and THX and says, "No. I'm with THEM." Thought I was gonna die laughing. Just so cute and grown up.
And I talked to last year's finders! He was so glad to have found us, he said. And the three kids had buttons galore..
OH!!! A HUGE, HUGE, HUGE THANKS!!! to G for the 2006 Hunt buttons, and Me2 for the 1998 Winter Carnival buttons! FREE!!! Ladies, that was very super nice and generous of you! THANK YOU!!!
I want to write a good and proper thank you to you all. You know, sacchrine and weepy and all that. You know? Me-ish. Where you'll all just read the first three words and go, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever." But that's okay. You don't gotta read it. I just have to say it to feel rite.
You'll never know what that Shovel means to me, how precious it is. Some of you mite. Others won't. That's okay. Some will think, "It's just a stupid shovel, a joke. She didn't do anything to get it; what a sap." And that's okay too.
What matters is how I feel. And I'm damn proud and so happy that you guys - YOU GUYS, The 'Crew - voted for me to have that shovel. I didn't look when hands went up because I was embarrased and I didn't want anyone to feel obligated because I was there to vote that I should have it if they did not feel that I should.
Well, you presented it to me. A joke, maybe. But I don't see it that way. I see it as a gift from dear friends that I've shared many years with. You will never ever ever know how I prize that Shovel and what a treasure it is to me. I will cherish it forever.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for such a wonderful gift. I just love it. It's so all you, from you, to me. No 'Head could ask for a better and greater gift.
And please stop by next year and visit me at BC when you're out in the parks. You'll know I'll be there.
Much, much, much Cooler Love...
green
I've one here witchore name on it.
You've been there for 9 years for crying in the bucket - and you've learned so much about clue noodling that you got there legitimately without stretching anything 12 ways from Sunday.
I was disappointed though that you weren't at the parking lot entrance leading us into the lot.
anyways...my that was my jerky supply to get me thru the hunt....
hunt was short...so I gave it all way....if it woulda been a long hunt I would have had pockets full and stuffing my face while diggin'
