To clarify things, I was using the rake, but very minimally, probably less than 30 seconds in total. I was using my boots because the rake really sucked with trying to move the snow. My boots were just much better. So yes I was using the rake a bit, but when I found the medallion, I was using my boots.
I haven't heard anything yet. And I was using my boots, not the rake. The snow was packed together, and my boots were much better than the rake at going through stuff.
Leif Ericson was the first European known to have discovered and settled on this continent in 1003-1004 AD, nearly 500 years before Columbus.
Leif Ericson Day was designated by Act of Congress in a joint resolution approved on September 2, 1964. (Public Law 88-566). This resolution established October 9th. each year as "Leif Ericson Day". President Clinton's 1997 Proclmation!
According to Ivar Christensen, President of the Leif Ericson Society International, October 9th. was selected because October 9th., 1825 was the arrival date of the first Norwegian immigrant ship, the "Restauration", which landed in New York from Norway on that date.
I wanna go find some land someplace, and get a day named after me....
that way I get two days, each year....
I plan to do this during the summer.... because its usually cold on my birthday, though....
"Wicked Nick day" will rock..... we're talkin fire-works, concerts, parades, people drinking strange colored beers, kids getting the day off of school, state offices being closed down.....
after a few years, people will even begin to exchange gifts...
Hey guys, if you could be so kind, go to the Coon Rapids forum there and post your thoughts on this hunt. What you liked, what you didn't like. Also if you have any ideas for winter festivities that they can do for their celebration. The woman I've been speaking with has been really nice, and she's looking for way that things can be improved. Any help you can offer would be great. Thanks!
I don't check my G-Mail that often but just noticed that the fine people at Snowflake Days wished me a Happy Birthday. I thought that was nice. (even if it might have been computer generated) Did anyone else get one before?
HEH
