Green and I believe, SueB, Cheryl and her hubby went either in 98 or 99.

I don't know that anyone has gone since.

But I do know they had a good time.

BLIZZARD BLAST WEEK: BLIZZARD ON THE BEACH

What: A week of FREE fun-filled activities

Ongoing Events: Medallion Hunt (look for daily clues at every major college entrance and E & W Cafeterias)

Not sure if theres any rules or not. Maybe have to be a student? I don't know.

SNOWSTORM! what an awesome name for a beer!!!

I'll ferment anyone who smiles at me. I'm easy. :ooh: :sheepish:

That New Ulm hunt sounds awesome. We had the time of our life down there last fall for Okotoberfest.

New Ulm? I've been there before, pretty small town isn't it? Can't have more than a couple parks....

nice.. a new puzzle to work on. This one seems more my kind of style. BTW their code has a "crack pipe" in it...

odd.. does anyone else get the feeling that site seems much like the minbin.com site?

KITCH

its got some weird stuff on it..

such as all the ties to geocaching .com

strange...
Mon, 02/27/2006 - 6:28 AM Permalink
KC0GRN

I'm pretty sure it's run by at least one of the guys from minbin.com. Both domains are registered through the same registrar... The forums seem to be written in the same style (lots of threads, no posts).

As for the 1st code (there'll be 4 of them? in increasing complexity? ouch) appears to be anagrams.

Maybe they figured that it would be cheaper to have a bunch of $75 hunts versus 5 $1k hunts?

KC0GRN

well if you're looking to get more word of mouth advertising, that'd be the way to go.

I'd put paklid in the running, but I don't know if he cares about it or not...

So here I'm at school with 2 1/2 hours until my midterm test on plumbing (which is kind of a hard course) and what do I do?

Study?

Oh no.

I have to go look for the medallion they hid this week.

They were suposed to post the clues at all major entrances and I see none. So I go to the front door and they have tuesdays clue there. (It started monday and this is wednesday). It said to look somewhere inside a lot of people go, so I looked by the cafeteria. Then I see a guy walk by with a bunch of flyers, so I follow him and see him posting the next clue. So I chew him out for not posting by my entrance and ask him about mondays clue. He gets on his cell and calls someone and gets me the info. So I may be the only one with all 3 clues now. They only post one clue for that day and none of the previous clues.

I might have to go look tomorrow too ,if If my new furnace gets installed early. I asked him what the prize was and he didn't know. I'll look anyways.

Century College Medallion Hunt

Clue 1

The sun rises in the east, and sets in the west.

If you go to the latter, it would be best

Clue 2

This campus is large, but the medallion is small

to find it you must walk through the halls.

It's near a destination were (actual spelling)many people go

But don't be fooled, it's not in the snow.

Clue 3

When facing the stage, glance up from your page

look towards the light, and to the right

thats where it will be, this is the clue to the key.

ran out of time. If you go right of the theater it leads you to the bridge. The next 2 clues might take you over the bridge to the east side.

I'll look more tomorrow. I don't think anyone else is even looking for it.

inside right??
Wed, 03/01/2006 - 12:16 PM Permalink
mrmnmikey

not sure yet. They make it sound like it's inside, but they may be bringing you along a path from inside to outside and across the bridge. When your standing looking at the theater (stage) your inside and the doors to the right go across the bridge.

Thats kinda what I was thinking. The newspaper is called The Bridge and I think they say it's the key to your future or something like that. I'd like to go about 9:30 tomorrow when they post the clue, but I'm having a furnace and new AC installed at home tomorrow and kinda wanna be here.

I just had a message on my machine to go get my meter at Century book store. I went out there and just had to look for an hour. No luck. Saw 4 others looking for it too. (I don't even need the meter for another 2 weeks)

Got my furnace in and went to look around. Heres clue 4:

Century College Medallion Hunt

Clue 1

The sun rises in the east, and sets in the west.

If you go to the latter, it would be best

Clue 2

This campus is large, but the medallion is small

to find it you must walk through the halls.

It's near a destination were (actual spelling)many people go

But don't be fooled, it's not in the snow.

Clue 3

When facing the stage, glance up from your page

look towards the light, and to the right

thats where it will be, this is the clue to the key.

Clue 4

This shinny medallion can be found,

in an object that is bound

way up high, or way down low,

you look in these for things you need to know.

But while you tear apart the school,

please be quite, because thats the rule

I asked the librarian if he knew where it was and asked for a bridges book. I looked in a few books about bridges and didn't find anything. I'm thinking bridges because thats the school news paper and also to the right of the stage (theater).

I should have asked for a "medallion book".

Not sure if I'll be able to look tomorrow (the last day) cause I have an electrician coming over to hook up my new central air.
