l4v- I dont know where you find the energy. It all sounds like fun ...but, do you ever slow down? just a teenytiny bit? I'd like to try the bull sometime but I dont know of anyplace around here that has one. Rodeo would be my guess but I havnt been there in ages. Im tired of the bar scene and all the smoking. I just want some movies and hotchocolate and a blanket OR a quiet intimate walk around a lake on a moonlit warm evening OR just sitting in a car near a lake/river with some good tunes and ...a blanket
I do the movie/hotchocolate thing, all the time.... and I do lake walks, almost every night, that it doesnt rain....
good stuff...
bars can be fun, too though... as long as theres a good band playing. Hell, sometimes even crappy bands are okay... I just like being lost in the music.
I wasn't in a bar - I was at a party that cleared about 75K for underprivledged kids. The rides this year - happened to all be inflateable - and the bull instead of carnival rides.
but our bars are smoke free.. so even when I do go out it's pretty nice not to have to inhale all that crap. Usually the fog machines are usually enough of an annoyance.
no, I never slow down... not right now anyway, my resolution for this year was to say yes to everything, and experience lots of stuff and well.. I'm kicking butt on it.
I went to the worst battle of the bands friday night... these people suxed. My one friends band (think southern fried rock) went up against 5 metal/ska bands. That was cool, but I was amazed at the lack of talent by most of them.
When I worked at the country bar, I rode the bull all the time, and have a buckle from a contest. This wasn't a typical bull (i.e. didn't have the hand tie down thing with the glove etc) but it was amusing and fun to see my friends get whiped around and tossed like cat toys.
situation at work isn't improving as fast as it should be.
dangit... I had yesterday off.. and all I could think about was work and how badly it sucks. I'll get home tonight and it'll be the same thing.
Didn't even do lunch today, starving here, guess it's a good weight/hair loss program anyway. I couldn't go and leave the only other guy here on the phones by himself (he's just as worn out as I am).
sigh* I have no right to complain though. I'm checking out for a while, might be some time before I can post again. If anyone hears of some good job opportunities in a month or so, please let me know.
Best way to get a hold of me if through egrams here, or check with one of the other geocachers in the group.
since my assistant moved away 2 months ago. The company wants me to train a new back up incase something happens to me. The person they wanted to have back me up has neither the back ground nor intellectual ability to do so.
I just looked at the GM and said - um, can you pick someone, anyone else? like maybe the gardener?
I just really dont have much positive crap to say...
and I know this is the "what irritates you?" thread, and all... but still... I post enough of my negative-happeningness... I thought I'd allow other people the chance to do that, for a while.
I was actually chaperoning a field trip to Mill City Museum with my daughter's 2nd grade class. It was an awesome tour. Very well planned and entertaining. Her teacher had to wait 2 1/2 years to get in there. I'm glad I was picked among all the parents that signed up for it. If you get a chance, I would definitely go. Now back at work and back to the grind. It sounds like there's gonna be a slight delay in my transition to my new place because they need more time to cover the person's account who will be covering this account. It turns into one big huge move up for everyone below me. There's nobody where I'm going so that isn't a problem other than they want me to start ASAP but it's just not going to happen. :frown:
pushy, pissed off, Avon sales ladies, who dont indentify themselves and who call 5 times within a couple of hours, insisting that they know I'm married, and demanding to speak to my wife....
I just certified loads to be shipped tomorrow, and with the new regs, my signature for each shipment must be the original on each copy of the shipping docs.
and I have to sign my full legal name as it appears on my POA - that's 20 friggin letters.
my hand hurts already - and this is a slow day of shipping... my wrist is going to fall off when it gets busy.
I don't know, but it's really getting old. Last time they had the same guy redo the job. This time we told them to make someone else do it since he's obviously screwing it up. It's nice to be under warrenty, but I wonder how much damage is being done taking it apart that many times. And what about our inconveniance??
but you're not working in the building. you manage it. there's a big difference there
actual source of soreness and bruise:
I was riding a mechanical bull.. and I stayed on (every time) for longer than the 8 seconds.
source of cold: driving around town and on freeways in a mustang with the top down at 4 am wearing very little clothing.
the price I pay for a little fun...
good stuff...

ditto :sheepish:
won something...forgot what...
but the inside of my leg was bruised for 2 weeks....some girl told me now I know what it feels like to be a girl......
hmmm....oh I get it now

the next week I brought a buddy of mine that was on the UofM team.....so I didn't bother to try to beat him.
but my leg slammed into my arm so hard...so many times I could barely walk for a week.....thank go d I didn't hit anything other than my leg.
I ride barefoot
I ride with my legs sort of tucked up under me.
I never ride without having at least 3 beers in me.
but I'm hurting today... it's been close to 6 or 7 years since the last time I rode.
but I think that closed...
that was at least 13 yrs ago...

Some people should only be allowed snail mail as ways to communicate.
