He called em, pretty much right away on his cell phone and after waiting for about an hour and a half for them to show up, we just decided to leave....

I'd rather not deal with cops again anyways....

pawn shops - good idea....

I'm gonna laugh if they try to pawn it off, its really not worth much....and its got my name carved into the back of it.

call the pawn shops ahead of time, and give them a description of the guitar and tell them it's stolen.

also - it would be a good idea to get a police report.

Long time ago I dated a pawn shop owner He nabbed many a stolen item and helped get it back to it's owner.

- Cops

evidentlly buying gas at 3 in the morning, while being a sober driver for a few people is a major crime.... I was roughed up, searched, and thrown in the back of a squad car "because nobody buys gas at 3 AM"....

he proceeded to grill me about something that may or may not be on my record, which I still dont even know about, but was only told CANT go on it, because I was never charged with anything.....

"So are you going to arrest me for buying gas, or can I go drive my cousin and her friends home?"

he laughed, called me a smartass, said "he knows what i've done", and that I'm lucky and if were a perfect world, punks like me would be in jail for life.....

I think the next time, i see a f'n cop someplace, whether they're working or not, i'm just going to run away so they actually have a reason to come after me....

WN - Sorry about the cops.

As for the band - "just dress your ass in the lastest fashion, and use your front door key to the playboy mansion"

you are on your way to being a rockstar.

I need to take my friend shopping for his first lead singer gig in his new band - the boy needs major rock fashion advice.

Irritates: Wimps.

I've been dealing with this container trucking service all week to schedule loads. The *$%$! in the trucking office - doesn't want to follow the previously agreed on schedule, so he is trying to get around me by calling my boss (who doesn't have a clue what's going on - and doesn't care to) to try to shift the schedule behind my back.

He just got a VERY rude awakening when I answered my bosses line and told him on speaker phone (infront of my boss) that the loads stand as previously agreed upon and will not be changing.

"lack of planning on your part, does not necessitate a schedule change on mine pal... "

newest irritation...

Roommate rear ends someone yesterday going down the 101 - hard enough to have that car - hit the car infront...

In his brand new - recently paid off Truck. and then comes home and tells me that he only has liability on the truck.

The whole front end is trashed - he can't open his driver's door as the frame is pinched etc. It's gonna cost an arm and a leg to fix it. (which he doesn't have)

and he is mad at ME for not (I don't know? convincing him?? forcing him??) having him put full coverage on it.

  • sigh* Dumba$$.

yeah, me too. I can understand his upset/even anger at his truck being whacked, but geeze - go take your frustration out on someone else.

Instead I went and took care of a friend who had his wisdom teeth out, and wanted homemade mashed potatoes and loved them. That at least made it a little less, yucky of an evening.

so... I had a fun night... saw a mexican friend that I havent seen since highschool, and was invited to his families cinco de mayo party....

had like 3 beers... wasnt in the mood to drink...

then I came home, and got a phone call that a good friend of mine, who I've known on and off since junior highschool, and who is now living over in South Korea, was shot and killed, while trying to stop a robbery at a McDonalds......

    yeah... you read that right...

I made a blog about it, and i'd post it here, but its super-long, and contains a buncha swearing..... and we all know i'm not very liked around here by a few people as-is.... thats all I need is to give more reasons for those who want to, to kick me out again.....

so yeah...details are on my blog on myspace.com, for those who have access, and for those who care.

    tech support hours.

Here I am, already overworked and trying to juggle 30 things at once (and no, I am NOT exaggerating that number) and I'm supposed to work with remote tech support to get our business software running properly, all while our normal business is occuring, because this software company doesn't have after hours tech support.

And yes, I fully understand this new server should have been setup and tested before the old business closed, I just didn't have the time or certainty at that point that this new place would be around.

The president has been buying everyone lunch lately, I've been avoiding them because I don't want to feel like I owe him something. Today I skipped with the excuse "I'm too busy to think about what I want to eat". At least that was an honest answer. I'd pack my own lunches, but I just crash when I get home from work. Usually I've just gone hungry... probably not the best crash diet plan... Okay then time to go raid the vending machine.

Sorry about the long post, as you can see, my mind is completely in shambles.

KC, I really don't think you would owe him anything if you got a lunch. From the sounds of it, you don't deserve lunch, you deserve 5 course meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Someone just tried to scam me with a phony PayPal email! It looked very authentic and referred to a payment I had recently made. When I checked the item #, it had been removed, and the ebay ID of the seller didn't exist. So I called PayPal and it's a scam.

So pay attention to your emails. PayPal has sent several emails warning of this. When you click on the link to dispute the charge, they verify your bank account #, and ask other personal information and then you're in for a heap of hurt. :worried:

You work hard for it - have lunch! I think not eatting is affecting your brain!

All the same, I play my game the way I play it. I know this guy, and I know what he expects. In his mind, if i have it figured out correctly, doing small things like buying lunch for someone can be construed like a verbal contract. i.e. if I came in one day and said "I've taken another job and will be ending my employment with you" would be met with "Why, aren't you happy here? I bought you lunch and tried to get you time off blah blah insert bureau-babble here". Just like the old saying, there's no such thing as a free lunch.

I don't think I'm any good at confrontation, hence why I'm such a pushover when it comes to most things in life.

And we have too much business for 3 trained employees to handle.... Honestly, I started today willing myself to have a good day, I've tried everything I could to maintain a positive attitude, and I do mean everything.

maybe so, but at the end of the day, kc, you ought to have about as much loyalty for your employer as they have for you. after all, they'd never grant you the courtesy of two week's notice were they to let you go, yet they expect it in return. at the end of the day, employers who buy their employees lunch and give them other such perks do so, simply to remove reasons for them to go home.

take the lunch run with it. its a free perk. but at the end of the day, you owe them nothing in return for it other than work during the course of your employment, and since you're being paid (i assume), even that's a fine line to justify, since you should be getting pay in return for work.
    Mon, 05/08/2006 - 11:43 AM Permalink

I agree with you KC. No such thing as a free lunch. If it smells bad it probly is bad. Go with your instinct.
