somthing irking you? pissing you off? rant about it here.
Clue Master
I agree Nick. Just about everything has sucked for me lately too. I mean real bad. The only way I manage to somehow pull myself through it is to think of that one special thought and loop it continually until it masks all the other shit until you can deal with it.
finding out you passed on your congenital heart defect to your kid :frown:... got a call from the school that the kid had an irregular heartbeat... after an afternoon at the hospital have to get into the pediatric cardiologist. Sucks that there is such a thing as a pediatric cardiologist... seems kids should be off limits for heart trouble.
I'm real sorry to hear that Sue. That kind of stuff just makes your stomach turn. Parents put themselves through those types of notices enough the way it is without one of them actually coming true. I'll bet that Diggin is right as I'm sure you already know.
thanks guys... will give you an update after they run the tests but keeping our fingers crossed that we caught it early and the valve isn't compromised.
I have spent most of yesterday working on a new web page for my portfolio and 10 hours uploading it today and the Illustration page will not work. I am about to smash my computer.
Looks Nice ESD. But I get this when clicking on your Illustrations link:

Ya for some reason the links don't work to that page when anyone opens it there, it works on my computer and when I open it directly from the online file, got me I think I need to rebuild the whole site again from the bottom up and double check every thing. Also for some reason some of the pages are way to big, I set them all for 800 x 600 pixles guess I need to keep an eye on that as well.
COMCAST..........and having 1 1/2 days with little internet usuage due to one of those old 3com sharkfin modems.
The lady from comcast thought I was nuts when I told her that there were computer like (windows)sounds coming from my modem and I kept getting kicked off the internet saying it couldn't find server. She kept saying it was a browser issue. Oh yeah, then why does the noise still happen when I've unplugged the processor from the power strip? And the noise stops when I unplugged the power from the modem? The tech guy showed up earlier and he verified that the noises were coming from the modem--- and he had NEVER seen that before. Good news ... newer faster modem.
even the friend kind when I am at work. it's fine if you stop in the tasting room, and have them call and I come down to see you, but don't just come walking in my office and plop down expecting me to be happy you came by.
always feeling obligated to "be there" for people...
Its 2:30 in the morning, I havent slept worth crap in 2 days, (do I ever?) and I've got a good friend practically crying out for help, and nobody else gives a damn, right now.... and I'm probably going to be walking the mile and a half over to his apt, to make sure everythings okay, in about 10 minutes...
Its raining.
Hard.
Rain has already ruined part of my day....
I remember when I used to like the rain, and didnt fear its arrival....which comes with virtual kicks to the nads, gut, and heart in very high doses...
I hope it all worked out last night Nick. It's nice to see what some friends will got through to be there for others. In your case last night....rain.
I got slightly critisized for my good deeds yesterday.
Sometimes its hard to be nice when others make you feel wrong or bad for being a good friend, a good neighbor, a good relative.
In the end I had wished I could of done more to help.
Over time it can take a toll on a person for the worse. peer preasure and the want to make everyone happy sucks! cause in the end I'm screwed for trying to help others.
he's having problems with his brother, and also another friend of ours that happens to be his room-mate....
Seems that they're pushing everybody out of their lives, and have become involved in tons stupid crap, and just dont even care anymore, and he's being hit the hardest....
Took him out for Perkins - because its my feeling that pancakes, and a chocolate malt, can solve problems at least for a few hours.....and now i've got him crashing on my couch, cause he didnt wanna go home.
not seeing my mom at all on mothers day because she was outta town, and then hearing after she got back that she's going in for some kinda foot surgery next Friday...
My uncle just had the same kind of surgery done, last year sometime, and can barely even walk anymore... :frown: :frown: :frown:   :coolfrown:
EVELETH, Minn. - The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame is closing its location on the Iron Range and beginning a search for a new venue, the hall's board of directors said.
The Hall of Fame will continue to induct members, celebrate contributions to hockey in the United States and organize events bearing its name.
"After many years of exhausting all avenues of funding, the reality of the economic feasibility with the current museum location is not viable," board chairman Jim Findley said in a statement Friday.
The Hall of Fame opened in Eveleth, about three hours north of the Twin Cities, in the early 1970s.
The museum attracts about 10,000 visitors per year, but it would take about 30,000 annual visitors to keep it afloat, museum officials said.
Tom Sersha, executive director of the Hall of Fame, said a decision on the museum's future location has not been made.
Just told him no today. I don't want him a free lunch, I want a half an hour out of this place for lunch, really, it's not that much to ask. Smokers get more breaks than I do.
God I hate car salesmen. By the way.... if you ever go to one those Denny Hecker's Car Clearance sales at the state fair grounds- THEY ACTUALLY MARK UP THE PRICES HIGHER THAN WHAT THEY WERE AT THE DEALERSHIPS!!!!
Ok so me and the hubby have been looking for something to replace my Jeep. So I've been shopping on Carsoup.com and I've been eyeing this truck that was at the Denny Hecker dealer ship in IGH. They were asking $21,900. I did an Autocheck History report and found out that the previous owner lived in SSP, so it must've been a trade-in, and that the dealership has had it for 5 months. So just when we were gearing up to go look at it and test drive it, it was listed as sold on Carsoup. :frown: The very same day I was going through old junk mail and I saw the DH Car Clearance sale mailing. So then I started to wonder if they moved the truck over to that sale to get rid of it. I called the IGH dealership and asked them whether they really sold it or if was sent over to clearance sale. "No, we sold that".
So just for shits and giggles we decided to go to the clearance sale. By the way you can't just leisurely walk around and look, you have to "register" and they pair you up with a salesman who takes you around. Luckily we had a really nice guy. He had only been a car salesmen for 2 weeks so he wasn't all jaded and crooked like the rest. So apparently there was a red crew cab with leather seats and a topper there but someone was taking it for a test drive. So we waited and looked at other trucks and waited and finally the truck came back. It was the SAME TRUCK that I was eyeing on carsoup! Except instead it was priced at $27,446!!!! So he brings us in to haggle with the "sales manager" and young 20 something named Tamir, and when I told him I knew that that was the same truck and they had it listed at $21,900, he said "that's not the same truck." So then I insisted it was, so then he went to check with his boss and then he comes back. "that's not the same truck" So I said "So you happen to have two 2002 Red chevy sliverado crew cabs, with leather seats, topper, tow hitch, with 33,000 miles on it? One of which is priced $5500 more than the other?" So then he gets this shit eating grin on his face and he knew that I had him. So then he offers me the internet price of $21,900. I said NO WAY cuz that's the price I was going bargain down from at the dealership. So I basically told him that I knew it was a trade-in and that the trade value was $17,000, and I knew it had been sitting on their lot for over 5 months. After some more bickering and a threat of us leaving we settled at $20,500  My husband just sat there so proud of me. The new sales guy told my husband said he never saw someone get that big of a markdown before.
Oh by the way, the first thing I did when I got home was check the VIN # with the car history report I printed out earlier in week - SAME TRUCK. LIARS.
nice. we rather enjoy haggling for vehicles. when we bought our car we had searched the net for dealers with a boatload of inventory of what we were looking for (it was the end of august). we took a test drive, told the salesman we wanted the car, that this was our trade in, and that we weren't going to pay more than 15 grand for it. his response: "i'm not sure we can do that". "look. we checked your inventory on the internet. you've got 19 of them sitting on the lot. its the end of the model year. your call." "i'll go see my manager about what we can do". $15,432 later we had the car
irritates: dakota electric's budget plan re-scheduling.
apparently the previous owners of our house didn't know what air conditioning was, since the budget amount for our electric bill was 85 bucks a month. with all the computers, it went up to 115 a month a few months after that. summer cooling season comes around, and we run up a nice balance with them, which they offset by upping the payments at the end of 2004 to 200 a month. this left us with a significant deficit still, going into last summer, which they made up for in december by going to 245 a month. so yesterday, our electric bill shows up and i was pleasantly surprised to see the budget amount drop to 215 a month. woo hoo. except that there's still a balance due of almost 200 bucks, going into the summer cooling season, so when they adjust the bill in december, its going to end up going right back up to more than it is now, which defeats the purpose of being on the budget plan.
so i call them up and explain to the woman who answered the phone the situation. she explains back to me that they do an account review every 6 months (yeah right, else we wouldn't have had the actual account balance we had in december), and they adjust things based on usage over the past 6 months. which is great in theory, but doesn't take into account seasonal fluctuations in usage.
ideally, this time of year everyone's electrical budget balance should be 0, just like in the fall, the gas budget balance should be (and with minnegasco at least is) 0.
at least at the end of the day, i got her to reset the budget amount to where it was before so when they review our account in december it'll be where it should be, and we won't have to deal with massive fluctuations again.
(this time) I DID NOTHING... been a good girl, been paying my insurance ON TIME, I haven't had a violation now in OVER 2 years (yes I slowed down - WAY WAY WAY DOWN)
and somehow they just sent me a letter saying they were going to SUSPEND my driving privledges effective May 19th - until I surrendered my license, showed them additional proof of insurance etc.
I just spent the last hour and a half on the phone between them and the insurance agent (thank gawd for 3 way calling via office phone)
I didn't get a good answer from the DMV, but they did say I was free and clear and could continue to drive.
its not so bad. i managed to get the woman i talked to to increas our payment so that things will coem out in the wash come december (and our bill will go down to where it should be instead of going way back up), but sheesh. you want to determine a customer's usage habits for how much they should pay, look at the whole year, not just the last 6 months. and when you're about to start a peak usage season, don't decrease a customer's payments if they still owe you money becuase they're going to owe you even more after the summer's over.
Damn.... do you have some enemies workin for the DMV, or somethin?
My sister works for the DMV here.... thats nice, sometimes when I need to find stuff out.... she just recently let me know that a couple of speeding tickets and other minor driving infractions from back in the day, have been wiped clear from my record, because the length of time they keep stuff in there had been way past due....
nope, no enemies -just a lead foot which was a product of several past sports cars.
I had an out of state license for 4 years cause CA was going to yank mine for too many tickets. I finally slowed down my act and was able to get re-licensed here...
grrrr - Sometimes I wish Verizon would get it together. :frown:
Small consolation, I know.
here is a link any way

I have 37 days until Arizona and some serious dieting ahead of me!
