He is a possibility I suppose. Anything's possible. But supposedly Ricky failed another drug test, which means he's going to be suspended for a year.

I like em too, but I gotta go with a Matty B jersey. I can wear it down to Matty B's during the hunt, and be like "look at me I have a Matty B jersey on".

hot topic overseas....unreal...

POLISH football fans intent on disrupting this summer’s World Cup with organised fights are planning to establish a “hooligan league” which will be headed by the most violent thugs.

The Polish fans, many of whom will be armed with knives, axes and 3ft truncheons, are preparing for battles with fans from rival countries, including England, throughout the five weeks of the tournament in Germany.

talk about my new hero...

Barbaro sustained a broken cannon bone above the ankle, a broken sesamoid bone behind the ankle and a broken long pastern bone below the ankle. The fetlock joint -- the ankle -- was dislocated.

Richardson said the pastern bone was shattered in "20-plus pieces."

Barbaro was trying to bite in his stall and even showing interest in a group of mares who stopped by to visit.

I hate seeing those type of racing accidents, they are rare,,, but it sucks cuz you could imagine the pain the animal must be in and it's takes awhile to get them some relief.

I used to work as a Vet asst. at the Hudson greyhound track. Once in a blue moon a dog would take a bad tumble... one had a broken leg so bad that it dangled, one hit the rail and broke it's back, and another hit the rail and split it's skull open, and one flipped itself on to the track that carried the lure and got electrocuted. :frown: Sorry to be gruesome but it's the sad facts of racing.. Luckily those were few are far between and the animals were put down quickly.

I'm really surprised that they didn't put that horse down.... they probably want to use it for breeding.

yep...that and I'm sure they are trying to avoid bad press since he just won the kentucky derby.

It's kind of sad... this was true of dog racing also.

If the animal was an average/mediocre racer and it's injury required surgury, they usually put it down cuz they're not going to spend money on an animal that not' going to rake in the dough.

If it's a good/great racer they save the animal no matter what.... even if the animal will never race again... they can still make money from breeding.

It's all about the money..... :frown:

I kinda wonder in this case...

ya ...$$$ is a factor....

but I'm also wondering if its out of some respect as he is a winner...and a champion....he's performing and acting like a he doesn't want to give up

Pay Me

It is sad but decisions like that are made every day.

If my cat is sick do I pay $1000 plus dollars with the chance it will get well or put it down.

It is a personal choice for people. And some people are willing to put the money into their animal. Others don't feel that way.

God

And if you happen to be playing the role of God at that particular moment, you can't kick yourself for what you decide. If that were the case God would be kicking himself for all kinds of messed up things.

That's like ESPN taking over Monday Night Football after 36 years on ABC.

At least we get to be the first team to play on ESPN Monday Night Football. I think we play the Redskins.

Doesn't WCCO have more bandwidth? I know that I can't get KSTP up north at the lake, but I can get WCCO. I lose KSTP somewhere near Turtle Lake.

I listen to talk radio too. Except I can't get AM inside at work so I listen to the 2 FM talk stations. It's about time... talk on FM. AM sucks. Trying to get a station tuned in is like cracking a safe combination. I wish they would have all the sports on FM.

Why do we still have AM anyways?
Tue, 08/01/2006 - 7:42 PM Permalink

Have to have AM or my old radio on my front porch would be worthless! It's just AM and shortwave, and nothing is on shortwave anymore. Oh, and it plays old 78 rpm's too. I spend one day early in the summer playing my sisters' old 78's.

--------------------------------------------------------

Hello once again all you football fans. Now that the 100 degree temps are hopefully behind us, we can wipe the sweat from our eyes and focus on some good ol' refreshing football. I'm only sending out this free football pick-em invitation to good looking smart people like yourselves. If you didn't get this elite invite, you might need to work on some things. Heh Anyway, please feel free to ask anyone that you feel is worthy of such a special group of fans like us. This annual no-brain competition has been growing every year. Like I said it's free with no BS. There's no real prizes other than a few donated by Yahoo. All you do is pick who will win the week's football games and wait to see if you are lucky enough to obtain that weeks braging rights. You can also pick future week's games if you feel you might not get your picks in on time. As usual, I'm sure I'll be set up at the bottom of the list for the duration of the season even if I don't plan on it. I hope you can join us again this year. One more thing - GO VIKES!!! See you there, Brad, Clue Master, BRD, Dork, Nerd, Sexy, Pretty (Well pretty anyway)
