Submitted by Clue Master on

The IGH hunt is always late in the summer. Usually the 2nd week in Sept. after school starts.

A little early for details yet.

I have no master...

I just would like to find one of these things sometime. Just to know what it's like to actually find something....

hopefully Rosemount decides to use the same big wooden clover-leaf deal that they had out last year....

that thing would make an excellent addition to my trophy case

(for those who dont understand what that means.... the prize sucked last year, so chances are I'd be keeping it)

With the amount of time I had in on that thing, last time around, I have no idea why I didnt come up with it.

weird....

seems like I've said that about some other hunt, a buncha times in the past too....

Yeah that figures.

Officially I have now visited every Oakdale Park.

Only way it's at the one everyone is thinking is if they did a fantastic job hiding it.

Good luck to ya, usually it gets found while I'm at work, heh.

Someone needs to get with these cities and help coordinate event times so that we can have a whole summer of hunts to do.

Maple Grove hunt

Clue #3:

When will they come has me quite stumped

Will I be found where IÂ’ve been dumped?

You can come by foot, water, or car.

It doesnÂ’t matter which, IÂ’m really not far

and the previous clues:

clue#2

Where children and laughter are heard in abound.

Just resting here will I be found?

Up the hill people are eating and grilling.

The thought of detection is really quite thrilling.

Clue#1

Our Maple Grove medallion is a leaf of bronze and gold.

Lovely to look at and easy to hold.

Surrounded by nature for folks on the go.

To find its location search high and low.

We spent a majority of the day out at the Maple Grove hunt. Bad part of that hunt is that the clues only come out once a week.

We went to the Hugo hunt. Talk about a small town!!

We found out too late about Hugo. We went down there and poked around only to find out that the damn thing was found 6 hours earlier. It just took them that long to post the information!!

You are more then welcome to join us here in Maple Grove!!!

I know next year I can brute force Oakdale in two days.

2 solid days of hunting and I can search every nook and cranny of every parcel of public land....

Congratualtions!

Clue # 1—Monday, July 25, 2005

  The Leprechaun was just here

The medallion is hidden

Now go to a park

But destructionÂ’s forbidden

Look to the playground

And search up toward the sky

Do not wreck or destroy

Need not dig, break, or pry

So go to a park

To get in is free

It is not in Camfield,

Shannon Park or Jaycee

Central to your search

Is a trail to explore

Listen to the Winds

And go search evermore

Clue #2—Tuesday, July 26, 2005

And now on day two

You must narrow your search

The park to be in

Could have oak maybe birch

That little green man

He is quite a kidder

Take a rest in the shelter

But donÂ’t be a quitter

The search you are on

Will put you through the paces

ThereÂ’s no skating or b-ball

But you can run the bases

At a picnic table

Pop you could be sippin

You might see Pele

Maybe Hamm but not Pippin

Clue #3—Wednesday, July 27, 2005

Your search to this point

Has been very hair raising

But your almost there

And the prize is amazing

YouÂ’ve searched high and low

For hours and hours

The parks by a street

That will soon have two towers

You can get there by car

Come on foot or by bike

And while at the park

See a train if you like

To get to the root

Of the prize that befuddles

Remember “No Damage”

Stay away from the puddles

Clue #4—Thursday, July 28, 2005

Get up bright and early

 And search until dark

The sun sets in the West

And so does the park

Stay East of the speedway

And there take a gander

But don't go to far

Or up comes your dander

The dog to the South

Will not bite or bark

But it will let you know

You are in the right park

If you like to cook out

You're in the right place

He can't fool you now

You're winning the race

last year!!! just wanna make sure I've got it somewhere... rosemount, mn

ok kc, Ive been through most of those parks too.

they finally give us a clue and I can't match it up to any of them that I was already in.

the same 2 that I told you and you told me still aply.

http://www.mnlema.org/richard_walton.htm

I couldn't find Meadows OR Eagle Ridge last night. I thought I went over East Side pretty good :frown:

the wbl clues fit od better!

I'm gonna go out to Oakdale Park- nature center is to the east and mud lake- they may have taken mud from the lake to the north to 'stick' it to something.

Well if it's in oakdale park (which after going over today's clue is my best bet) it should last the day at least. Park is huge and they haven't really nailed down where it is in the park.

uuuuuhhhhhh oakdale park bites!

why do I do this?! I didnt want to be there--- I think today I didnt wanna be anywhere -

there is only 1 good place for a sweaty person and it's not Oakdale Park!!! good luck joel

lol ow!

I got a full plate tonight. Go find 1 cache (so I can make the metrodome cache #1700 tomorrow), go to the roseville medallion hunt kickoff (I've made that a tradition for the last couple years), then go over to oakdale park and stay there till I find the darned thing.

Could be a late night, heh.

I don't have a cell on me. Technically I have one, but I never use it... Anyways I'll be over @ oakdale park around.. 7:30 until whenever I get tired. I'll be parked in the nature center lot, can't miss my car.

If anyone wants to join in feel free.

How do you come up with Arlo Guthrie and the Eagles? Also, Elvis, while he is the King, doesn't strike me as the heavy metal guitarist type. I'm kind of stumped on this one.

the only park I saw under construction was heavily under construction- they had bulldozers and hard hats so I can't imagine it there.

tmk-just the timeframe for any kind of musician

and yeah- what is the connection besides guitar playing?

a king that grew up nearby?

theres a burger king

Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page. All successful guitarists. They weren't heavy metal I'd say. All but Van Halen were in the 70's time frame I think. Van Halen is more associated with the 80's.

Hmm... the hider/writer for this years must be getting back at us for a short hunt last year...

Gonna take some time to digest this one. No strong indication of where it is yet, might just go to another clue...

all that is the "marking point for OAKDALE"....possible the CENTER of town...

Shoot, I've gone as far as to search the city of oakdale's website and research the meeting minutes for the park planning council (which now I'm guessing I'll read up on for next year's hunt). Even that doesn't help much...
