Figure out this riddle:

A subservient person that went from Toad to another with a Pomeranian inside a Padded carrying case.

QUESTION: What is the magic word?

(one word answer, please)

? I had to ask for a clue and still don't get it. 2 guesses and 1 hint = hardly no points :frown:

HINT: Each phrase or section of the sentence describes the same doggone word.

is it a lapdog?

Clue Master

Well don't you rock!! Thanks

I would have never got it without you.

CORRECT!

EXPLANATION

Each section of the sentence refers to the same word: Lapdog

A subservient person: one definition of the slang term “lapdog”

went from Toad to another: Members of the band “Toad the Wet Sprocket” formed the band “Lapdog” in the late 90’s

with a Pomeranian: a common type of lapdog

Padded carrying case: Lapdog is a brand of padded carrying cases for laptops

anyone watch the treasure hunters from monday?

it was the best one yet, and really started to resemble the medallion hunt in my opinion.

the hanlons showed a ugly side and were eliminated, but the kid was actually cool which gives that family some hope atleast.

Clue Master

Thank you for the spoiler alert. I scrolled past it because I plan on watching it with the kid tonight. Glad it was a good one. Are you playing on line too?

I'm playing that GPS movie game too. They're kinda fun. Plus they even have live hunts now too. There's one in Bloomington I plan on looking for later today.

KC0GRN

I was kinda amazed no one was talking about treasure hunters yet.

I was surprised the Hanlons didn't make it. Considering they were the bumbling team, I bet they had more people rooting for them. It was odd to see them try to play competitively, and the only point I saw from them was the fact the Browns lucked out big time from the grad students. It would've been cool to see the Browns offer the grad students part of the treasure if they won. Doesn't fit competitive wise, but good gestures don't make for interesting tv I suppose.

I'm suprised another team didn't try to keep the Hanlons in it longer, knowing that they are the weakest team by far and could easily take them out later in the show.

Found the GPS live hunt cache with the girls but came in 2nd. I would have looked on the 1st had I known that the FTF gets a 'special' envelope. Either way it was a good cache. One that I'll actually log too.

Hey KC - It was hidden by another KC too.

Fellow Hammy I assume

You should go for it. You get 3 movie cards and 2 codes. It looks like it's put together pretty well. I can see why they ran out so soon and only have one for Minnesota.

I am small, I cause cars to crash, I am liquid, but I am a solid, I am sold in the store, I am not sold in the store, I come in only 3 colors, I smell like garbage, I can fly, I cannot be found in the ocean, I am always 150 degrees fahrenheit.

Can you answer this riddle?

I can't get this one. It's not an egg or oil. Help?

<edit> Nevermind. This was so damn stupid. Usually they're better than this. Sad

I answered: No

CORRECT!

EXPLANATION

The riddle is jibberish. The question was simply whether it was possible to answer the riddle. As far as we know, nothing fits that riddle.

tonights treasure hunters was AWESOME!!!!

so many similiarities to the real hunt.

I wish physical harm on Katey Fogel.

tim_the_hunter

"I hate this, I hate this, I don't like this job" (Katey Fogel complaining about holding the flashlight while her dad is dripping in sweat because he's been digging through hard dirt for 2 hours)

Pops had a similiar outburst about holding the flashlight once...

I like when he said "Oh Lord help me" when she was complaining. I think he was ready to go nuts. My daughter said that lady complains even more than she does.

no, it's always the daughter.

I too think he was on the brink of going insane, and pops and I were rooting for him to cold clock her with the shovel.

You know... it's television...

I seriously doubt any of these people are as bad as the way they're portrayed.

tim_the_hunter

but but but...

she has to be bad.
Tue, 07/18/2006 - 10:48 AM Permalink
Clue Master

That was no acting there. And I don't care if it was 30 years of editing to get that footage. You have to be a brat from the ground up to act like that. And you could tell the mom & dad have been through it for years by the way they reacted.

I just can't believe that those guys stuck with them. What have the Fogals done to help anyone besides ask where the other teams are and then piggy back on them.

And TV that pisses you off is good TV I guess. Look how popular it made Archie Bunker.
Tue, 07/18/2006 - 12:41 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

Honestly I can't see a grown person ever acting like that all the time. Blame it on bad parenting if you like I guess, but maybe that's why they pick people like that and not people that are serious about the hunt.

Either way, you can't say they don't edit footage to make a person's flaws and escapades look worse than they are. I'm not sticking up for anyone either, to me, even reality tv isn't "real" (yeah I know real life doesn't make for interesting tv). They edit footage to make a story go they way they want it to.
Tue, 07/18/2006 - 1:18 PM Permalink
tim_the_hunter

yeah I completely agree with you about the editing, I mean they did play the clips of her crying from last week over and over. I'm sure she's not that bad all the time, but the fact that she got to that point once was bad enough. then she did it at several different points in yesterdays show, which were filmed at different locations.

either way she sucks at life
Tue, 07/18/2006 - 3:26 PM Permalink
Clue Master

They edit footage to make a story go they way they want it to.

Exactly. And if they do it well they get to do it again next year and possibly get an award for it. The trick is in finding these personalities to perform for you where it doesn't look like they're performing then edit it to mold them into what you want.

I like how they can take the same footage of a police chase and add various editing to make it go from serious to comical to outright stupid.

Watch Natural Born Killers once. It's Genius!
