If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life, And I had to start again with just my children and my wife, I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today, 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away.
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea. From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A., There's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say:

Yep, stayed home to watch a rather decent amateur fireworks display. Who needs lines of trafffic getting home when you get up close and personal aerial displays over your house, heh.
Sorry I wasn't able to make it out - I got the great idea to go visit the office to watch the fireworks from the Ivory tower. What a view! I got the whole river valley and a panoramic view with a great seat and air conditioning (and free parking to boot!)
Like a blind squirrel - even a bear finds an acorn now and again.
He's just jealous Bear... you know how gophers love air conditioning  .... we did have a great view from our seats though... right on the edge of the river. Thanks again Jana for a great time! The kids are talking about their fireworks order for next year.... looks like we are gonna have to fill up the van in Wisconsin for my little pyro-in-training nephews  Needless to say they all had a blast!
hey ya'll - any idea yet what dates the hunt is scheduled for next year...
hoping.. hoping... I am chairing our Crabfeed on the 27th of January - however I've lined up 3 assistants who are going to be getting the 'bad' news on friday that I may not actually be present the day of the event...
Vino's showing up? I'll have to make a note to be down at the paper line more often this hunt.
Side note, so I walk to a place for lunch (Heck I enjoy walking, besides I'm not burning gas that way) and I get there to find an ambulance, emergency vechicle and two squad cars out in front of it. I walk in, and two EMTs are just packing up some stuff and dragging it back out. Then I go up to the counter and try to order the special and the lady behind the counter says "Umm.. You don't want the special.." so I asked why, but I really wanted to ask if that's what put the other customer in the ambulance. She says "It just doesn't taste very good". Still daring, I just ordered something else and waited for it. Found out it was just an employee that had a seizure, wheew...
