Young and the other contestants will get to sing a verse and a chorus -- and maybe more -- without accompaniment in front of 10 or 12 "Idol" producers at Target Center. Then some singers will be called back to perform, perhaps at a later date, in front of the show's executive producers. And, finally, the cream of the Midwest crop will face those three famous judges in Minneapolis.
So it's not like other cities where the people line up and wait to sing in front of the 3 judges? or is this the way it's done in every city? The producers see them first and allow terrible singers through? hmmmmmmm
I was hoping to go people watch!!! Just hang out and watch the crowd in line.
heh. you guys are killing me. I'm working it out right now - I should have about 2 weeks vacay by then, and I'm already trying not to commit to anything during that time, but having firm dates would help.
Figuring I can work it best to show up around clue 4 or so - that way I can stay a few days after the hunt as well, and perhaps see some friends/family that don't live in parks/bars etc.
Good thing you are over 21 Timmers, cause it's not likely you are going to get me to strip off enough clothing for body shots in -10.
yeah, well, my goal is to reform them and say... if you want to see me during my visit please check in the frog pond from 10-2 daily, and bring hot chocolate with hot damn.
However some may not go for that, so I'll leave a little time for the people who I make exception to the rule for.
I had a little taste of the winter carnival at the Saints game last weekend. The vulcans were running around the parking lot and the klondike kates came in and sang take me out to the ball game. (the vulcan were eyeing up my grilled chicken and beer)
That's how they do it for every city. My sister knew someone who has an awesome voice who auditioned in a different city. You audition in front of producers first. Then they pick the ones who would make good TV (good or bad) to put in front of the judges. So they only see a small handful of people. It's kind of a let down... you can have a good voice, but if you don't have star power or could play the underdog, then you won't get picked.
so I play an online tournament at Poker Stars and the guy's name is Juggalo6969 -- I comment on how cool his name is. He mentions the weather and where he is ... ISLE, MN!!! I say, "hey, do you know Steve?" well, turns out he knows Steve and Kelly!!!!!! he asks me if he has dreds! hahahaha YUP, dat be my Marley.
So not only is he a ICP fan that wears face make-up twice a month, he knows COOLERCREW!!!!
I told him to tell them that CoolerCrew says hello and call him Marley to get a funny look from him.
keep in mind that people who play Poker Stars are from all over the world! I had someone from North St Paul at my table earlier tonight and another from St Paul yesterday. weird
I should be doing laundry or packing or something. Leaving on Saturday for a weeks vacation with 65 of my nearest and dearest relatives. :worried: I hope we're all still near and dear when it's over.
It wasn't Nick and the guy I dated ONCE is dead.
Maybe you can tell I'm not very proud of it but he was a Senior. And it does make a good story. Especially the part about the look on my mom's face when he walked in.
I was planning on it until I went outside and about fainted. I forgot to bring a change of clothes and there's no way in hell this boy is walking over there dressed like this.
I have been watching them play the Aquatennial tennis tournament across the street downtown here. Lots of indoor observers.
I feel for them. It is cool how they have it set up though.
Here comes the heat! Temperatures state wide today got into the upper 80's to mid 90's, while places to our west, such as Bismarck, ND got to 100 today! That heat is making its way towards us, and will be here for both Saturday and Sunday. Forecast highs for those days should reach 100, which is why the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Twin Cities for both days. If you are planning on going up north or just staying in the Twin Cities this weekend, make sure you drink plenty of water, and keep out door times to a minimum. Also be aware of symptoms for heat related sicknesses, so those may be treated as soon as possible. Looking ahead to next week, our best chance of rain looks like it may come on Monday, however highs Monday through Wednesday will once again be in the mid 90's.
I just spent $35 on a simple haircut because the Barbers at my building are the only ones who like it cold. Plus they had a fan directed right at my chair. It was the first time I cooled down for the last 3 days. It was well worth it. He said the Mayor was in the same seat right before me enjoying the same thing.
I thought I did too but was too embarrassed to leave once they told me that the owner left. I was stuck with his super gay 'right hand man' instead. :eyeroll:
The hunt. right.
