Stillwater's has always been weird. Hasn't it usually been hidden downtown somewhere. I'm wondering if maybe it's by the Freighthouse or is there anything irish in town?
They have a beautiful park at the top of the bluff, just north of downtown. You can see the whole river valley, downtown and all. I forget the name of the park though.
I just realized that it is Leprechaun Days already... Zephswife says my daughter is out looking for the medallion... She is pretty quick on these things as it isn't set to start until Monday...
I guess what she is looking for is a golden Leprechaun, which is hidden in 2 stores a day, when you spot it, then the store gives you a stamp. Collect stamps from all of the stores, and you could win something else.
Not sure how much I will be looking for it, we are going camping next weekend, and I may have to rewire my dads boat trailer, and get my boat all cleaned up and ready to go too.
$5 gets you a one yard square on the Irish football field. Join in on the fun as Rosie the cow trots on the field and poops for cash. You could own the lucky square Rosie (the cow) drops her patty on!
Grand prize - $2500
Choose your square online at www.rosemountfootball.com under the BOOSTERS section and call Karen Compton at 612-598-8287 to purchase.
I couldn't find the area on the website to chose a square though
Sounds like a better prize if a cow poops on your square of grass than finding the medallion... I can just imagine a bunch of people cheering the cow on as it takes a dump....
Just came back from out there.... I think, once again ive hit every park in the city in 2 days...
I should have done this last week, though to get familiar with the parks again....
tonight - possibly going back out there...
I hate this weather...
The rain sucked yesterday too... came down just long enough to run us outta Kaposia in the middle of a game, and then proceeded to flood all the intersections on the way home....
As soon as we get back, it stops raining....
something didnt want me outside doing stuff... :coolfrown:
I'm pretty sure it was found tied to a tree at Lions Park. I found both green yarn and green ribbon tied around the middle of a tree towards the front of the small park. I'm pretty positive about it as it's located on December Trail and doesn't have either a baseball diamond or a hockey rink. There were quite a few people at the other 2 southern parks but seeing December Way sealed it for us. But also bummed us out when we found the ribbon too. If that is where it was hidden, you could have found it right away Nick since it would have been in plain site about 4' up the tree. My guess is that someone not even knowing what it was grabbed it. I called the bank and they said nobody turned it in yet. Unless tomorrow's clue totally directs me elsewhere, I plan on writing this one off for this year.
Maybe it was one of us who haven't reported back yet?
mucky is lucky...
See an oak and four pine trees,
Then more trees a searcher sees.
Baffling clues the likes of these
Can bring searchers to their knees.
Cook your dinner while youÂ’re there.
Smell the bratwurst in the air.
Grill a steak, I like mine rare,
See the benches in a pair.
I think I'd be a bit more enthusiastic if I actually found a medallion.
So far that's only proved to be a dream. Of course I don't remember my dreams so even that's no consolation.
I would have thought so too but you've never found one so I wouldn't know how you'd react.
OOoooHhh... Burn.... :worried:
1800 some odd caches found,
33 benchmarks found,
0 letterboxes found (gc.com hybrids don't count)
0 medallions found
Maybe I should go find some true letterboxes, at least add some of those to my stats
You and possibly Nick or Diggin are up to find one of these things soon.

so... yeah... damn... that was nice and short
was it one of us?
probably not....I think we woulda heard....
also noticed that they cancelled their fireworks show, too....
I guess I'll go home and have a beer now instead
Yeah... it's in the blood...

Leprechaun Days have started
Activities have been planned
The shamrock is hidden
Come and join the band
Meadows Park is off limits
And so is Chippendale
If youÂ’re in the right park
Close by is a trail
So search the park over
Explore and enjoy
Do not climb or dismantle
Do not break or destroy
Your in-ter-pre-ta-tion
Of the words here in print
Could serve to align you
Not that was a hint
Clues are provided by Dan Schultz, Rosemount Parks & Recreation Director, and medallion is hidden by him.

'nuff said...
It looked pretty cool last year...
would look good on a shelf, or hanging on a wall....
I'm hoping its at Winds... that way we can say "The Big W" came into play... I still need to get a picture of that thing...
Possibly today... I'll be out there in a bit...
It's hot out there, boys and girls....
especially with no car.
I went outside once and decided to go back into hiding.
Great.. now it'll be hot and humid...
Tuesday, July 25, 2006 - Clue #2
In the middle of December
The parkÂ’s activities slow
Fields cease to bloom
But winds they still blow
The leprechaun sometimes fibs
Some say he is lying
DonÂ’t give up your search
Keep looking, keep trying
Time to narrow your hunting
Put a smile on that mouth
You are in the right park
If you stay to the South
If you like to go skating
Or run the bases
This parkÂ’s not for you
Go find other places
good luck
damn fibbers...I'm not happy with fibbers today
