My nephew flew up from Louisiana and gave plane rides, That's our resort at the top of the picture. Maybe you can see "HI" written out with white lawn chairs.
The second picture is of my kids and me.
We had a luau theme for our Friday night end of vacation bash. My two eldest grandsons came as Gilligan and The Skipper.

And thanks for the compliments guys. Saturday's fireworks were a blast. (sorry for the pun)
It was pretty cool seeing them on TV last night. I didn't know they were done to music. Even better!
great photos btw.
very nice.

Lumberjack Days will again feature the largest musically choreographed fireworks display 'north of Chicago', making it one of the largest shows in the United States this summer.
with this rain they could still put the show on.
sooooo 'north of Chicago' must really mean 'North of Chicago ...but East of the Mississippi' :eyeroll:
Heh
an all-new 27 minute long display
huh??? I though we are consider'd midwest...
oh....columbus must be bigger but east of the river and south of chicago...
hmmm...north of chicago.....
bunch of fibbers...
The pyrotechnic display is 30 minutes long and features a wide variety of patterns, lights, designs and shapes. The precisely timed blast offs are synchronized to the soundtrack and controlled via computer. Created by Pyro Spectaculars, Inc. and fired by Pyrodigital Consultants, Lights on the Lake was rated one of the Top 10 “must see” events by the American Pyrotechnics Association and is the biggest display west of the Mississippi. The simultaneous music broadcast can be heard on local stations KRLT-FM 93.9 and KOWL-AM 1490.
hmm...claiming is the biggest west of mississippi....in lake tahoe....and top 10 by the pyrotechnics...
The Aquatennial display is reportedly the fourth-largest annual fireworks show in the nation.
The Red Bank, NJ 3rd of July fireworks is your next destination for family and friends. We are tied with Houston Texas for having the second largest fireworks display in the United States. The number one display is the NYC MacyÂ’s 4th of July show held on the Hudson River
hmm..
NYC -1st
Redbank 2nd
Houston- 2nd
that would make Nashville 4th...
somebody is telling a fib.
Actually the 'major' events don't have a lot of them, the rivercats baseball games on friday/sat nights do a few & I think the state fair does them after concerts every night and Most cities do a few for the 4th... but that's really about it. We don't have cool festivals like Aquatenniel, Taste of Mn, Riverfest etc. Most of our festivals that happen along the river - etc it's just too wooded of an area.
It was pretty cool. I don't remember ever saying it was the 'most awesome thing ever' or anything like that - but it was pretty cool.
I'm sort of of the opinion fireworks (like food or wine) are the best when you are there watching them with someone you care about.
therefore the 2 best displays ever would be Canadian Days in Little Canada - when 14, holding hands with a boy while laying on my back on a hill watching the fireworks above me.
or 4th of july 1998 - in Virgina City, Reno sitting in the window of the Silver Queen Hotel room watching the fireworks fall down over us.
It was the biggest fireworks celebration, this side of Phalen Park....
see.... anybody can do it....
that and 4th last year was cool......I saw about 14 towns all from one location...
yeah yeah yeah. they outlawed anything that explodes or goes into the air here too unless you have a permit. thank god we're so close to wisconsin though
I did work at one of the booths the town over last month - it was fun to see families come out and get that stuff and still be able to use it.
I happen to have 150 bottle rockets from Wyoming @ my house. Need to take them out in the middle of a lake or on the beach at the ocean or something.
