Wright Winger I followed the instructions under preferences (Water Cooler). My wife is a graphic designer, and has all sorts of neato retro scans all over the place. Unfortunately, I failed to crop the beef properly, leaving my picture file several times too large. Thank goodness my darling came home and rescued me, hence the more dignified facade. I am itching for the latest clue!!
Rosebud is the name of a sled in an old movie around the Hearst Castle though I can't think of the name. I think it's at Highland (high ground). The sledding, the water tower (dome) and woods. It's early yet.
hey friend, no battle just trying to warm you up so you will be ready to figure out the clue when it comes out.....we are a special breed, we shall stick togeather till someone gets lucky!!!!!!!!
In the definition of mother, one of them says Native: one's mother language. And lode is a vein of mineral ore. Also known as lead. The river definition was false, I guess. Of course, my dictionary could be wrong.
My Webster's Unabridged gives a definition of lode as 'a waterway or canal'. It is possible that the Father of Waters is being referred to as the Mother of Lodes, but I really think this just refers to the medallion (the treasure we seek). But then I have never found it. Say, Nimrod, have you checked out Newell Park?
New screen name, same old Bob. Has anyone thought of the impact a search has? It seems that they put it in a park that is "under construction" "face lift" etc. Como was that, so was Harriet. Now, I seem to remember Mounds with some face lift stuff going on last summer. Just thinking big picture, and the impact, although safety dosen't fit-it's a long way down at Mounds. Anyone seen the Virgin Mary display up there? Or am I "miss" informed once again?
I think theres a pasta factory down by the river that has a lrge rose painted on the side of the building if memory serves me correctly One can view this from Cherokee.
Well, I will be gone for a while now I am heading out to the CORRECT park to pick up that darn coin, If you see me there say Hi, but no one else has been there so far. HASTA LA VISTA,BABY!
Wes, I am 100% sure that it is not at Cherokee, Mounds, Prospect, Newell, Phalen, Como or Harriet - although I could be wrong and I have never been the very first to the correct park, but my 17 years in this activity tells me that this is the year of the NIMRODS!!!!!!!!!!!
Mounds Update via cell phone, modem, digital two-way, gps, etc. About 25-30 people searching. The Virgin Mary stuff is from the old Mounds Park Hospital. In the foyer, there's a dedication (sp?). Also, what about the park down on Kellogg, where the new bridge is? Any insights? Just speculating waiting for #5, as we think this new clue should nail it down.
I just got back from Mounds...only a few people were there when I left tonight. I really wanted to buy the parks book...maybe next time. Last year at Como the clues gave the boundarys (i.e. Horton St.) The clue said something about Dr. Seuss. Well, I'm thinking that "rosebud" simply means Thorn St. That would be another boundary.
Ahoy there fellow medallion hunters! Mounds Park seems to be the hot spot this evening. There were about 30 people diggin' when we left to scout out Cherokee and Prospect parks. Prospect seems like it could be the spot but it's too small to accomidate a large searching party. Cherokee doesn't seem like a suitable resting place for the treasure but it's still early.
All day thursday, just me, my shovel, and my wife telling me we should give this up and go home. See you all at "the park" I still dont know where it is though. Have been within 20 feet twice though. I'm afraid its my year all.
Well, i am back from "THE PARK" (not Mounds) and I have not as of yet found it, but soon. By the way does anyone know when the medallion was hidden? ie: two weeks before the hunt, one day? let me know!
I was up at Mounds earlier (HI to the RV man!!!) and I was wondering - for those of you who actually went there - can you see BOTH domes from there, or can you only see the capitol. Because it was pretty foggy, and I could only see the capitol.
I'm Still sticking mainly with Mounds until this next clue comes out.Clue #6 should seal things up. But for now Prospect and Swede Hollow Aren't bad ideas either. A couple of directional links follow below.
Just type these in or drag and highlight them and hit control+c to copy then move to location to open and hit shift+insert!
http://www.mapquest.com are about the most detailed maps on the internet, for those of you without a good one. Also You can pick up a great one from st.paul parks and rec, every single one(park) and good.
Do I need to know the meaning of nimrod to be a hunter? I'm not here to get in a battle of wits. You asked, I honestly answered.

Sorry if I came off a little ignorant.
I know this is going to sound stupid, but how about transposing the word mother. I come up with the word Thermo.

I only come up with words that don't make sense. Hotmer, remtho, throme....
I suppose the iron ore carriers go through there.
So my Encarta does not know all.
That would be where the river, or waterway, came from that I read earlier, I couldn't remember the exact definition.
so what do you think the treasure is hidden in? Any ideas?
well Pat, I would have no reason to head out to Newell for that is not where the Medallion is at this year.
True enough. I'll see you where it is if I figure this out.

nimrod, you seem quite sure of the fact that it's not at cherokee...
Well, I will be gone for a while now I am heading out to the CORRECT park to pick up that darn coin, If you see me there say Hi, but no one else has been there so far. HASTA LA VISTA,BABY!
Uh ohhhh, there goes nimrod to find the medallion in her backyard finally. :)

Well I believe that these are all great ideas! I guess now we just wait unitl 11:30. Does it come out at exactly 11:30, or sometime there after?

Well, i am back from "THE PARK" (not Mounds) and I have not as of yet found it, but soon. By the way does anyone know when the medallion was hidden? ie: two weeks before the hunt, one day? let me know!
NIMROD, Which "PARK" are you referring to? If you read my earlier postings, Have I been there yet?
