I was thinking the same thing about December Trail, being something of meaning, when I saw that... but... who knows...

thanks for pointing out that ribbon/yarn deal though...

maybe I wont be back out there tonight....

Its a long way to go for me, for no reason...

It's a long way for anyone

yeah.... but when I gotta car, thats what I like doing is driving... I dont care how far I'm going, or for what.....

I just like to turn the radio up, put the windows down, and GO!...

Its gonna be kinda hard for me to do that anytime within the next year or so...

....

....unless something changes....

and god takes pitty on my crappy life for a change...

Thanks

Not so sure if I am gonna need it now... He said the other day that he would be happy if he got around to it by next summer. (I guess that means we are taking my boat this year...)

Why didn't you stop by and help me chip up my tree stuff?? Was more fun than looking for some dumb ol' medall... I can't even say that in jest...

zephyrus

Yeah... it would be a long walk for me. might take 15 minutes to get to Claret Park...

I haven't looked at the clues until just now, that would be where I would start if I was looking for it. Anyone want to come clean up my mess in the backyard, take my kid to karate, lime the backyard and mow for me Wednesday?

Wicked Nick

heh.... I dunno where you live...

although if its in Rosemount, guaranteed I was probably near you :goofy:

Clue Master

Well that would be where the majority was today anyway. There were about 15 people at Wind park, about 40 people at Claret at one time and only 5 at Lions. I searched them in that order and didn't plan on moving from Lions once I was there. The trail of December Trail and December Way along with the name Lions kept me from looking anywhere else. You bum me out by not looking in your neck of the woods. Common duuuuude!

Wednesday, July 26, 2006 - Clue #3

And now on day three

For the treasure youÂ’re pining

The clue here is clear

And donÂ’t quit with the whining

Visible from the park

Is wildlife if you dare

There are birds, and some squirrels

You can see a small bear

From the parkway of Shannon

To the East you must travel

The road is not gold

It is also not gravel

To start down the slide

The kids give a shove

Just follow these clues

The prize you will love

Hey Z-Man - You better get to Claret. I searched it yesterday but it looks like it may still be out there. Try Winds too just in case. You can blow through that in about 15 minutes.

Haven't even kept up on this hunt. Oddly, I'm not even sure if I know where Rosemount is. Course the prize money isn't very alluring...

me2

sounds like a como clue -- line the slide up

pine trees near by

it does sound like you need to dig

Wasn't Shannon used last year? or it was near Shannon

I posted earlier and than deleted it - the lephrechan lies therefor do the opposite - Instead of December find June or something/somewhere warm ....

we went through this last year with the lying lephrechan

I'm heading to Kaposia for a bit--- good luck

Wasn't Shannon used last year? or it was near Shannon

Last year, they named off basically every road, and park in the city, trying to confuse people, and/or get people

to/from the wrong parks....

ya...but when you did get to the right park you 100% knew it was right...

how weird. I'm looking at my maps for a good area to cache out tomorrow afternoon, and I see this grouping of caches, should make for an easy 10 finds (I hope), Solve 3 puzzle caches, and find out this whole grouping is in rosemount.

Talk about a day late and 50 bucks in movie tickets short, heh.

a kid will enjoy those movie passes

nice

I don't like when a clue writer says to look twords the ground and its not really hidden ON the ground.

It might have been on the ground...under the bark

who hides medallions on the ground, and under pieces of bark?

seriously.... I dont think thats ever been done before...

oh... wait. :goofy:

KC0GRN

Well.. I can't say anything about the medallion hunt, but caching in rosemount ROCKS! I set out to get 10 finds there, left the city with 12, almost cleared it, save one cache where the owner didn't specify what numbers to use for a multi, so I had no clue if I was lookin in the right spot for the final.

zephyrus

Man... I picked the wrong week to go camping, and be busy... lucky girl!

wish my daughter would have looked for that rather than the dumb golden leprechaun...

KCOGRN - if you are ever out this way again, caching or whatever, you are welcome to stop by... I live on 147th Street West. Real easy to find, although I don't have a GPS so I can't get you coordinates, so I wouldn't make a good cache. But if you have any, you can feel free to leave all of the cache you like!
Tue, 08/01/2006 - 4:01 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

Well ya never know, There is that one cache there that I didn't find (bad multi). Ian could always go hide a few more down there for me too.

ANd thanks for the offer Zeph!

http://djjd.org/lmth/events/horseshoe.html

In previous years, winners have claimed their prize within the first few days. The response to this event has been exciting as whole families join together to work out the clues and search for the horseshoe.

2005 History: The Horseshoe was FOUND on 30 August by a team of 4: Evelyn Pelleymounter, Steve Pflaum, Lucy Gaylor, and Judy Anderson. It was found under the Water Conservation Sign attached to the Odd Fellows Park sign on Forest Avenue. The team won $200 for their find, plus the BONUS of $100 for registering their Celebration Button (#3331) on this web site.

This is the second year in a row for Evylyn, Steve and Lucy in finding the shoe. Lesson learned from last year... Register that button!!! $300!!!

2006 Clues will be posted here:

Clue #1

When Jesse's horse Becky, threw her horseshoe

A knight watched it happen, and knew what to do.

He secretly stored it, in his archives

to give to a brother, who would touch many lives.

Clue #2

The brother was worthy, a citizen of renown

A true knight and a treasure, to our beloved town.

He nailed the horseshoe, over his cabin door

and planted gardens and tulips, for folks to adore.

Clue #3

When he passed on, and his cabin torn down

A knight stood by, and took the shoe south of town.

A true Knights Templer, knows how to hide treasure

Using a compass and square and ruler to measure.

Clue #4

The shoe lies resting, near hallowed ground

In a field out from traffic, waiting to be found

Look high and low, for Becky's horseshoe

If you find it you'll win, three hundred dollars... or two.

Clue #5

Oddfellows and Rotarians and fellow Knights would approve

Of the arena the horseshoe had been moved

Across the street from the monument, to his "Band of Brothers"

You guess the annex, it is one or the other.

Clue #6

Start your search in the annex approved by Bill Cooper

The 8 concrete strips are the clue, for a good horseshoe snooper

Face the "290" sign, and the five Elm trees,

Look atop a limb by the trunk, and find the horseshoe... please

List of registered, 2006, buttons (as of 9:42 am on 8/27/2006): 425, 2507, 2508, 5311, 5161, 5376, 5834

1. While searching for the star of gold behold as these clues unfold and beware of truths untold.

2. While out on the hunt you may confront a thing or two that is new.

3. West is best and at the very least you could go a little east.

4. Word of mouth says you must travel south but you will come forth from the north.

5. When all is said and done and your search has begun you should figure out this pun.

6. At the beginning of this quest you may be a little stressed if you hit a brick wall that isnÂ’t very tall.

7. Vertically there is a hint in this print you donÂ’t need to squint it is not a misprint.

8. Monday at 9 a.m. this hunt will end my friend, I hope you comprehend these messages I send.

9. Children come here from near and far, now it is a place that hides the star.

10. Competitions are held here all times of the year; but you will be cold in relation to the star of gold.

team player here too

I already said if I found it there would be lots of drinks

I got things worked out and I'll be out in the morning too  with Caribou in hand I hope!

I got a good cut on my foot and those darned nettles feel like they are stinging my ankles right now!!!! hot tub would be perfect right now.

Got it figured out that so far techniqually this would be as if 9 of the 12 clues were out already. 66% ?

I know this was said before but I completely agree - I think it's on the south side of the park on the east quarter somewhere in that brush/trees hidden REALLY well!
