September and January are my favorite months

along with my favorite numbers 17, 19, 24

January has always had more of that Bing Crosby White Christmas feel for me-- Red and White velvets, snow and icicles and fireplaces - enjoy the cold arctic breeze on my face

September is deep blues, the smell of change in the air (close eyes ---mmmmmmmm)... and the color changes in the trees - blaze reds

I suppose if you made me pick 1 favorite season, I'd have to go for fall, but winter is a close second.

Yuppers!

I heard Johnny Depp mention that he thought Evil was a hero of his and the audience laughed. I didn't think it was funny but true. I always looked up to Evil and thought he, Neil Armstrong and Lee Majors were the biggest hero's of my childhood.

Mine were Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, and either He-Man and/or any of the popular G.I. Joe charachters, given what day/time it was

Most of which is still true.... except for He-Man... he just turned out to be a punk.

Too alarming now to talk about

Take your pictures down and shake it out

Truth or consequence, say it aloud

Use that evidence, race it around

There goes my hero

Watch him as he goes

There goes my hero

Hes ordinary

Dont the best of them bleed it out

While the rest of them peter out

Truth or consequence, say it aloud

Use that evidence, race it around

There goes my hero

Watch him as he goes

There goes my hero

Hes ordinary

Kudos my hero leaving all the best

You know my hero, the one thats on

There goes my hero

Watch him as he goes

There goes my hero

Hes ordinary

He is half of the country singing duo "Montgomery Gentry". He is being prosecuted in Minnesota for illegally shooting a tame bear in an enclosed pen and then tagging it as a wild kill. He even video taped it and edited it to make it look like he killed it in the wild. Basically poaching.

Some ass-wipe who runs a supposed "animal sanctuary" in I think either Pine City or Sandstone let him "hunt" the bear for around $4500. He is being charged too.

Troy Gentry has always tried to play himself off as an avid outdoorsman. Gee what a great hunter... you were able to kill an animal that will walk up to you and eat out your hand. That's not hunting.... that's just wanting to be able to kill something without doing any of the work. Anyone who is a real hunter finds this APPALLING.

There are six Flag Raisers on the photo. Four in the front line and two in back.

The front four are (left to right) Ira Hayes, Franklin Sousley, John Bradley and Harlon Block.

The back two are Michael Strank (behind Sousley) and Rene Gagnon (behind Bradley).

Strank, Block and Sousley would die shortly afterwards.

Bradley, Hayes and Gagnon became national heroes within weeks.
