aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh I'd like to say COOL! I know how much you love and adore her- she's everything to you ---and it's wonderful that you did it for her...pictures please  ....
I'm going through the same thing ...but.... AGAIN!!! we did kid room makeovers 2 & 3 years ago.... they bug me daily to change them AGAIN! we are now going through Pottery Barn catalogs to redo both rooms.
currently Whitneys room is a wonderful light blue with white velvet curtains and hints of silver accents throughout the room - originally a cinderella theme
currently Sarah has this sawwweeeet under the sea theme where we went in and painted the walls darker blue twords the floor and lightened upward 3 shades of ocean blues to teals - as if the ceiling were shallow water and the floor were the deep ocean. We even painted the ceiling and inside her closet. She used to paint so she had had painted her own pictures of under sea fish and scenes -we framed them and put those up - she had a real fish net up in the corner with shells from Florida and we mood lit the room with a cool colbalt blue fixture.
Now, Whitney just wants new furniture so thats not so bad...only $500 ... Sarah wants to go retro pink - lime greens uuuuuuhhhhhhhh new paint and new bed/furniture $600
Good Luck with her liking her room still at age 11!
your kids are lucky to have you guys. tell them that.
I had the same dresser (white - boring) and the same bed frame (white wicker) and the same end tables (also white wicker) from as long as I can remember until the time I moved out of the house.
My walls were white (although with lots of thumb tacks & tape marks from posters that at times in HS were over an inch thick, one on top of the other)
About 10 or 11 I got a new comforter set and new curtains from my granma, which actually are still in the room (it's now the guest room)
wasn't allowed to change my room. it was what it was.
talking with my sister on the phone and she aimlessly asks me if I ever wondered why the states started out small in the east and as you go west they get larger? as if Americans got lazy and realized we had too much land as they went along so they just made the states bigger?.... hahahahaha whoa k theres a way to look at it......come to find out after a while that she is working on a jigsaw puzzle of the United States as we talk---- I thought she aimlessly pulled these strange questions out of her head.
This afternoon, I got to stand in the middle of what once was a pond here in St Paul 100 yrs ago! (near Jefferson and the short line) I stood about 25 feet down, looking up at where the waters edge once was!
It's hidden away from the hussles of the city even though you can stand there and hear the cars on the highway. Most of the creek became rerouted underground in that area when the railroad was placed, therefor killing the pond and the creek - it was heavy swamp area right there too from groundwater springs.
I know. I do. I gotta put some kind of positive spin on this crap. Although, things are much better in this cooler weather now. I don't feel like that walking sponge that I used to be.
apparently there is a fallen power line in the middle of hwy 101 here, that was blocking traffic with the accidents it caused for 20 miles in both directions.
All the alternates according to the radio were jammed with people getting around it.
My roomate took one of the alternates on his motocycle and it took him an hour and 15 minutes to go the 22 miles to work.
I didn't listen to the radio people, and instead went about 5 miles west of where everyone was trying to take an alternate, and skirted the river on the back country roads.
I made the trip in 35 minutes (about 5 minutes longer than what it would have taken me going my usual way using the freeway and only went intotal 7 miles out of my way!)
something to be said for the person who drives the back country roads for the scenery every once in a while! The worst traffic I hit were about 10 soccer moms trying to pull into a charter school on one of the roads.
Nice. Wish I had a chance of a scenic drive to work. Trouble is, there really is no scenic route between work and home, unless I take a ludicrous detour...
going up north and see the fall colors, deciding to go sat night instead of Sunday and staying at the casino. Not expecting to gamble, but since they reimburse you up to $50 for new members, we gave it a shot. Penny hit a $675 jackpot! (after she lost her $50 she "borrowed" from mine)
didja hear about the woman who won the million on the cherry slots at Mystic at 3 am Sat morning? Jake works there and was there when it happened. you went to the wrong casino 1 night late --- but still a nice take-home
Next time put a little thing of baby powder in your purse and offer to help him stop the chaffing.
secondly- use the button colage as an avatar OR post it so we can see what you do at work all day
it was way bad ass. I liked it better tho before I put the photos ontop of it. I may make another one, just to have.
<----- proud papa

Was Alaska a state when it was invaded by Russia?
