about 4 years ago, he had kidney stone problems, and I had to take him for surgery and almost lost him then, and from what I can tell - I think he was having some sort of blockage, (but I didn't know about it, cause I've been too busy working) and it looks like he tried to go potty, and something ruptured I think inside. He was laying next to his water food bowl about 5 feet from the litter box on his side. :frown: he was only 6 and a half.

his brother Elvis and momma Molly, are both taking it hard, they spent the entire night wandering the house crying for him. Elvis (oddly) sat in the window next to the bed and stared out into the yard, in the same direction of where i buried him, so perhaps he knew.

awww. I have a photo of all my babes here in my office, when they were about a month old, they are all laying in the same basket. it's so sweet.

I have one that is about 14, she seems pretty hardy still. But I'm sure her day will come, I'll still be sad, but I'm not sure if I'll be as shocked, since she's older, and it prolly won't be so sudden.

ok, you know that saying when a door closes God opens a window? well I'm a believer.

I was just on line ordering a headstone for my cat (its got a poem on it, and his name and dates) and I clicked over to my email to make sure i got an order confirmation.

well when I did - there was an email from a friend of mine, asking if anyone wanted a little lab puppy. Seems, her brother went hunting last week, and they found a little of black labs out in the woods, they had been attacked and all but one had died.

The little guy is mal-nurished right now, but her aunt who is a vet has him and is offering free vet care for him and all his shots for the owner for life! cause it's a rescuse and she feels strongly about saving animals.

My boyfriend has been begging me to get him a dog, specifically a black lab mix dog. So I've arranged for him to go see the little guy this afternoon, and if he likes him, tonight when I'm off work, I'll pay for his bed, his food, all his toys etc.

So, my little guy maybe gone, but there is a puppy who is going to get a wonderful loving home with the boyfriend.

Cool.. wonder if I should do that for my dad. Seems it was a bad weekend for pet deaths (Dad's dog died and he's takin it hard, doubly so because with his heart transplant, he can't get another pet).

Sorry to hear about your kitty l4v.

apparently the BF tried to chain him up in the yard yesterday - that lasted for all of 5 minutes, he cried so much it broke his heart.

so today while BF is at work, the little guy is living in the bathroom. Everything was cleaned out of it that he can hurt himself on, and he was left with toys, food, h20, a peepee pad and lots of pigs ears.

what a rough life! doesn't even have to stay outside!

Expensive Celeb Divorces

http://www.forbes.com/2006/10/24/pf-estates-cz_rm_1024celebdivorce_slide_4.html?thisSpeed=6000

Steven Spielberg and Amy Irving

Actress Amy Irving was married to iconic film director Steven Spielberg from 1985 to 1989. The pair did have a prenuptial agreement, but Irving contested it, claiming she lacked legal representation when she signed. Spielberg ultimately settled with Irving for a reported $100 million.

Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison

The rugged actor married screenwriter Melissa Mathison in March 1983. Seventeen years later, the couple separated, eventually divorcing in 2004. Ford allegedly paid Mathison $85 million as part of a lucrative deal that not only divided assets the couple shared but also entitled Mathison to a piece of future earnings from films Ford made while they were together. This would include DVD sales of such Ford classics as the Indiana Jones trilogy and The Fugitive.

Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva

Costner's 16-year marriage to his college sweetheart, Portuguese-American restaurateur Cindy Silvia, ended in 1994 following rumors of alleged infidelities on set. The couple had three children together. Costner reportedly paid out as much as $80 million in the divorce settlement. In 2004 Costner tied the knot with Christine Baumgartner, a handbag designer nearly 20 years his junior.

James Cameron and Linda Hamilton

Titanic director James Cameron married actress Linda Hamilton, co-star of The Terminator, in July 1997. They had one daughter together before the marriage tanked 18 months later. Hamilton petitioned for half of what her ex made from Titanic, the highest-grossing movie of all time, reportedly walking away with $50 million.

After 22 years of marriage, Michael and Diandra Douglas split in 1997. Douglas, the 55-year-old star of such cinematic hits as Fatal Attraction and Romancing the Stone, is believed to have paid his ex $45 million as part of the divorce. The colossal sum is estimated to have been nearly a third of the actor/producer's fortune.

Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall

Following revelations that the Rolling Stone impregnated a lover, supermodel wife Jerry Hall filed for divorce in early 1999, seeking a reported $50 million settlement. JaggerÂ’s lawyers claimed the lithe rocker owed his ex nothing, given that the couple was never married, despite a 21-year relationship that saw the birth of four children. (A religious ceremony held on Bali in 1990 had no legal status, according to the attorneys.) Details of the divorce settlement remain confidential, though the press speculated that Hall pocketed between $15 million and $25 million to unload her JumpinÂ’ Jack Flash.

I posted a while ago, about my cousin Jason - he lives in Texas.... and got a promotion with whatever oil company he works with...

they send him to a base of theirs in South Africa, for 30 days.... then he's home for 30 days, then back.. etc...

he's been sending pics every once in a while of life down there.... especially now that he knows its so cold here, he likes to brag about the tropical weather and crap...

one the African guys that work for him there, has a pet monkey named Pico.... evidentlly he's pretty smart...

and they even give him beer, just like some people give to dogs around here....

since this is the "pets" thread, I thought I'd post some pics that he sent me yesterday...

- my cousin and Pico were out on the patio enjoying nice weather, and beer...
