Being dressed to the 9's and having a great time at the Harvest Awards Sat.
Having a fabulous time, and then after going to 2 after parties with Chefs who won awards and eating some of the most decadent food I've had in a long time.
Not totally sucking at my first game of soccer last night (infact we won! and although I didn't score any goals, I also didn't cause any for the other team)
I'm actually more proud of the fact that I got out there and tried a new sport I've never played before with a bunch of women, I've never met, until joining this team.
The brownies my boss left me (gourmet and yummy) on my desk this morning for all my hard work on Saturday.
this time I found some St Paul history stuff and Winter Carnival stuff that I didn't have and got the church to donate all they had on Max Metzger to RCHS  - 3 boxes of pics
kc, I picked you up a 1979 Lord of the Rings Calendar - nothing fancy but I thought of you and grabbed it wether you toss it or not ---so there! take that!
not really an enjoy as much as an amused me thing:
so tc and i are online last night booking our hotels for london and paris. one of the 3-stars that orbitz put up said "rooms are small and in poor condition" in paris. now that just makes you wanna book your reservation there don't it?
Somebody (me2 I think) posted a long time back that someone was writing a book on St Paul place names and needed some info. I sent the guy some and now I'm listed in the acknowledgements of the book. Heres a copy of the e-mail I got from the author:
We are going to have a publication/signing party for my book on St. Paul place names. It will be in Room 317, Landmark Center, October 21, 2:00 PM. If you come, do let me know in advance and I will mention you as one of the contributors. (In any case, you are still enshrined in the printed Acknowledgments.)
For more information about the book, including the Acknowledgements and the Index, visit http://www.empsons.com
I talked to him on his publishing date- It was originally set for the 24th but he didnt want to do it at night so he changed the date---:frown: --I won't be able to go and I've been waiting months for this book!!!!!
FYI-don't buy the book the first day it's out--- I think the UofM gets all the money from the 1st days sales and then he and us get percentages of the other days.
He isn't happy with the cover of the book either- he didn't have a say in it - it is good except the stupid map in the background is of a stupid area of St Paul! idiots at the U picked it out.
Very Cool Mike ----!!!!!
I got to talk with Larry Millett last Friday about some work he need from me as well ---
getting to sneak out of work for an hour, and getting to see my friend play an accoustic show down the road -(his band is opening for Train tomorrow night in San Jose) and getting to sing a little song with him.
puppies! Got the puppy! His name is Jaxon Markley (yes, a dog with a first and a middle name) He is beautiful, sweet, and has the best puppy breath ever! As soon as I get some photos of him, I will post. he is just adorable and what a little love.
hangovers (well not them persay) but the fun that I had yesterday to obtain the hangover was something I wouldn't have wanted to miss
12 of us girls took the harvest festival wine tasting pavillion by storm. There was a lot of laughter, a lot of wine, and a lot of drunk flirting. We also found out, that most men will trade a wine taste for a condom, just as easily as they will trade a wine taste for the required ticket.
I can break out hot drinks, blankets, warm clothes, shovels, boots, no bugs!!! Leaves are falling off the trees, making caching 10 times easier. Heh, whereas most people despise the cold, I've always made it a point to thrive in it.
Having a neighbor rescue my kid from being stuck between some trees and quickly loosing her breath. If he wasn't there the fire dept. was my next call since my wife blew out her back trying to free her. Whew! Listening to her wheezing was terrifying for a few minutes there. :worried:
Thanks guys - The wife is still down and one of the kids legs is messed up where she had a tough time making it to the bus stop today but we're thinking positive anyway.
It sucked hard for me because I was stuck way over in downtown Minneapolis and couldn't do a thing to help other than call around the neighborhood looking for some guys to come to their rescue. I only feel good about it because I know I'd have no hesitation on stepping up to help anyone in any kind of situation like that.
Take a look at the fine print. The 50k winners each week are only those who buy the large fries. I get combo meals all the time and I only get pieces from the pop or chicken sandwiches which also include a $1 or $5 Best Buy bucks. But not from the fries. You need to order them separately. Who cares anyway. I'm looking at this like KC does, just be happy to be fed and not want more.
