You're not supposed to get caught.... you always have someone in your gang do it, from a rooftop across the street.

I was that guy.

damnit!

See... then your gang probably lacked the guy who's supposed to go up before-hand and search for video cameras, and then report back to you, so you know where to position yourself....

duh.

Irritation -

defrosting the basement freezer...

and the fact that the new secondary fridge we just got (also for the basement) has a couple of defective parts, making it so the freezer part doesnt work, and the actual fridge part freezes everything you put in it.

add to that - dumbass "fix-it" guys who know nothing about their jobs, other than to look at it for 45 minutes, and say "hmm... it shouldnt be doing this. Thats kinda weird"...

I wanted to punch the dork in the face.... if I was able to fix it myself, he wouldnt have had to come out here and tell me the same thing I figured out a buncha hours earlier.

now I gotta wait on some other guy to come here (which probably wont happen til ATLEAST Monday), and see exactly what kind of part it needs, because the first guy didnt know anything.... even though I suggested as to what might be wrong with it - I'm probably right too.

half thinking about buying the part myself, and fixing the damn thing, and then charging THEM for the work.

Lotta weird things when you get into repairing stuff though. Taken from my end of the perspective, it sucks to go to someone's place, have something that isn't working, and you're not able to figure out the solution. That kinda pressure makes me think working long hours away from repairing stuff isn't all that bad...

irritates: not being able to find more of the lights we have on our christmas tree this year.

or being able to find the storage bins i keep them all in.

that brings up an interesting semi-related point. Why did Caribou choose today to setup all their christmas stuff at their stores? Is there some significance?

We were wondering that last night when the guys were in. They just said they do what they're told.

Oh, and it's holiday decorations not Christmas decorations - I was corrected too :eyeroll:

it won't help for this year, but tell her Target after xmas - I got a great fake tree 2 years ago - original price $300 - my price? $47.50.
Thu, 11/09/2006 - 2:21 PM Permalink

Goodwill always has a lot of Target's last year merchandise this time of the year. You can get a tree for under $20.

suduko.

I've never played it before - and in less than a half an hour finished 5 of the 'easy' puzzles. I don't get it - it's not fun, it's not a challenge.

I guess I need a harder book. trying to find things to do at work, that don't involve the internet. NOT easy. today I read all of psychology today, and a travel mag.

Working the day after thanksgiving... again...

Temps get it off cause they'd get paid extra to work it, plus it'll be dead around here. One coworker already asked for it off, and the boss? Yeah he won't be here, but we just HAVE to cover phones for anyone that cares to waste their day calling in orders for office supplies. Usually we get 3 or 4 calls for the day, and everytime I've advocated to close the place for that day the next year, there's just enough calls placed to prove me wrong.

Consolation is I could take Monday off (which isn't a consolation, Friday gives you a 4day weekend, Monday just allows you to dread Tuesday).. meh, screw that, obviously I don't have enough respect here to be able to take the day I'd want off (because 95% of the non-retail world takes it).

Too bad you aren't a drinker - night before thanksgiving is the biggest bar night of the year. THAT is my day, (or I guess you'd say night)

I have it off - think I'll paint my guest room. I don't do the shopping thing that day - too many idiots out there.

I'm at work now

I was here at 5:45 last night and the phone rang

I pick it up and say our name

the guy on the other end says "whos working so late"

I jokingly say "whos calling so late"
I said it in the same way Julia Roberts says "then stop calling me" in Pretty Woman - I love that part!

he laughs and says his name, turns out he's a board member. teehee

he goes on to say he's having dinner over at Kincaids and sees the lights still on over here and wanted to know WHO could possibly be working late on a Friday night. I told him I had people waiting on things and I like to keep them happy and wanted some of it out before the weekend.

I get brownie points

I got on someones list at Cellular one. They keep telling us to pay our bill. Problem is we don't have an account with them. I tried to e-mail them through the "about us" link on the website and the mail gets kicked back as undeliverable. I'm really getting sick of their calls. Who do I talk to about this? I might send regular mail to them next.
