KC - I have a way around that, but it won't work for you. I always tell them how handsome they look in their uniforms, and how I have a *thing* for delivery men.
You'd be surprised how nice and efficient my packages are delivered.
lol yeah.. I don't think I'll be using that technique unless it's a woman, and I'd have to think up something other than handsome to use... without insighting some sort of harrasment complaint.. Meh, it's best to just not even go there...
So yeah, I just haveta give them some space and understand they're stressed out.
Having not one or two but 3 hard drives go out on me with everything I've ever done on them with the exception of a few picture discs.
I bought a reader that allows you to read an internal drive and all three are screwed! One shows the basic file system but nothing in the folders themselves. One just clicks and the other doesn't show up at all and will need to be reformatted if I want to use it. Damn Damn Damn Damn!@
It's feels like I just had a house fire and tons of memories just got burned up. :frown: :frown: :frown:
Sounds like the MBRs are screwed up on the 2 that aren't clicking.
It's very probable the data is still there, and if the drives aren't too physically damaged, the stuff on them should be recoverable. However, it's most likely something that will have to be done by one of those data recovery services.
Yup! And I was using the advice I got that time by backing up my stuff. That's when it happened. The more I read the more it looks like Norton has a big thing to do with it. Many sites say that you can get a total crash during a backup if you have a security program running at the same time. It won't allow a file or program that's infected to be backed up and ends up crashing everything in the process. Now I'll never do a back up ever again. Too paranoid. I just need to burn to disc once a month is all. :eyeroll:
On-line storage scares me more than a corrupt hard drive. There's no guarantee that they won't close down and seal access to your stuff and hold it ransom. I had that happen with all my skyscraperpage.com photos. Never again unless it's something like Comcast where I can sue them to cough up my stuff.
CM - I have an external hard drive I put all my stuff on, and then every couple of months burn my photos to a DVD. I also store all my photos on Yahoo Photo - cause it is really easy to upload - takes little memory to up load to it, and you can use it to print directly to Target photos, share with friends etc. and the size is unlimited.
I hate to say it, but there's virtually no difference between an internal and an external hard drive. They'll both fail in time. Best option is burn to CDs or DVDs regularly, and store those in a safe place.
It looks like it worked on 4 people. And it also looks like Bear was the only one who picked last nights game correctly. Sole owner of this week's 1st place.
Had a couple come through the office today, one from fedex, one from ups, and the mailman. They all looked ready to kill someone.
You'd be surprised how nice and efficient my packages are delivered.

I'M AMAZED SOME PEOPLE EVEN OWN A P.C.
She was my penpal in bible camp when we were 10 - clearly one of us went one way, the other went another.

Hey Dan - Does Comcast have a storage facility?
do you realize you get to surf myspace at work?
How friggin lucky are you?
Thanks Vino. I have a 60g Maxtor 3 external that will definitely see some action going forward.
Plus Target I'm guessing pays them to be their photo loading center.

That was my Jedi mind tricks, working their magic.
It was supposed to work on more than one person though.

And it wasn't nerves as she came home and threw up again and went straight to bed. :frown:
poor bubbas
If it's any consolation to her, tell her a girl fainted and fell off the risers at my grandson's concert at South Grove Elem.
It's already planned. I'll have the camcorder and camera on a tripod just like I would have had if we went today.
Sad about the girl fainting but I'm sure it'll help a little. Too bad South Grove is closing. Or is it closed already?
