Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.
Clues:
Clue No. 1 (Sunday, Jan. 21)
Welcome ice and snow and temperatures low
There’s no time for cold feet!
For searchers’ pleasure we’ve parked the treasure
Where nature lovers each other greet
Clue No. 2 (Monday, Jan. 22)
Boreas\' vast realm can overwhelm
Even diggers used to the long haul
So here\'s advice to put your hunt on ice:
Look no farther than good old St. Paul
Clue No. 3 (Tuesday, Jan. 23)
Hunters can be surly but in clue-time it’s early
Be safe, friends, and in the hunt revel
Near land that is high the treasure is nigh
Vagueness rules and that’s on the level

so this stuff seems absolutely awesome to me.
It would probably be even cooler if I knew what was going on.
sorry.
time to noodle white bear ... hope we get snow soon.
I guess I enjoy burning myself over and over again.
There's always some slight hope they'll have a hunt outside of St. Paul. Then the ball will be in my court
or, cause I packed appropriately, it will be 85.
and I want to go look in the frog pond!
that can be arranged
that was the most fun tradition after the bar close on the eve of clue 2. The last 2 years however have just turned into going to any big park and walking around drinking in the woods.
I know we can incorporate both into the nights of clue 2 and 3.
I have no real idea as to why I get a high off of it ...just typing it and thinking of it ....I'm getting warm all over and numbing in my arms.
getting drunk in a park... hmmm - That's never happened before...
the paper wants you to send in your favorite diggin' stories to be published...
200 words or less...
sounds like "terry" needs to right her "finders" story.
and somebody should do a kirk story...
I have no good stories.
whoops...had to double-check the thread topic :sheepish: thought we were going all Crosby suddenly! Yikes....

Then the same hunt on the evening of the final clue, just going out to watch the pandemonium, and ending up staying out until 4 in the morning because noone had found it yet.
"I'm hoping you can put me in touch with folks, including but not liminted to Cooler Crew members, who have made the most of online forums, PDAs, Internet-friendly cell phones, or other devices that have changed the face of medallion hunting. I hope to finish the story by the end of the week, which means I need to start my interviews as soon as possible.
"If you could please call me at 651-228-5498 or email me at lyuen@pioneerpress.com, I'd be forever grateful. I'd like to have an initial conversation with you consider posting a query on the Cooler Crew site."
so, here's the call out to my fellow 'heads to discuss how technology has advanced the art of the hunt. (don't all call at once, she's only one person).
I suppose I could be nice and give her some tidbits...
4am? Why'd ya leave so early? I remember CM yelling out something about midnight.
It was actually 4am and it was the coordinates for the next years location.
snooze ya lose I guess
It was my park, man....
We should have had it, when we left our footprints out there, on clue 2... :coolfrown:
I remember, at one point I met with a number of people on top of the mosh-pit, and somebody asked where Shaggy was... I go "Hold on a second...", and then yelled, at the top of my lungs - "Who's goin chicken huntin?!?!?!?" - we hear from clear accross the 'pit - "We'z goin chicken huntin!!!".....
"He's over there, someplace"...
we found an abandoned wading pool, laying on the hill, by the boat house one night, and took a time-out to use it as a sled....
Never gonna forget, giving intetrviews to every single news channel out there, and finding out the next day that people saw us on every one of them (and yes... we gave shout-outs to the crew, too)...
During channel 4, interviewing us - and I have part of this on tape, someplace....
I'm answering all the questions, and Steve starts hitting me on the arm... I tell him to knock it off a couple of times...
the 3rd or 4th time he hits me, I go "dude, WHAT DO YOU WANT?!?!? We're being interviewed here!!!"....
he turns and points, and goes "What's that guy doing?"....
the guy in question, was bending over, to pick up the medallion....
which he then showed to somebody from Channel 5, trying to ask what it was that he had found....
the guy from channel 5, basically told him to screw off, cause they were busy....
So he went over to Channel 9, which is where the media circus that we all remember, began....
Later on, there were a buncha dudes down on that dirt path, next to the 'pit, that were having a bonfire... they told us, that they'd give us some beer, if we found some more wood to use....
So, we dragged down the log that the medallion was supposedly hidden under/next-to (and I'd like to point out, that the log WAS NOT there, a few hours earlier)....
After crapping their pants, from realization that they were touching a piece of history - I think they gave us all the beer that they had left.
Ian, I think she would find those old medallion location caches interesting.
I assume we'll have it in the same place. None of us have reserved it yet as far as I know. I can if that's the consensus.
YOU DA MAN!!!
This year would be a good year for us to find the prized medallion. I had some dental work done today for about $1000. Thank goodness insurance pays part of that.
Wish they paid more.
Hey, anyone here from Red Ram?
He normaly starts calling me about this time of year.
.......CAREFUL!!........ lol :ooh:
I will be there
Thanks for stepping up ClueMaster!
