Hey everyone...I am seeing all the posts and wondering why there is no fight for Highland...Is there something that is detouring us all from that possibility...please let me know!!! As for now I will once again plead my case for Highland.

Well here we go with my Highland speal...

Clue #1 - As always no meaning, just TO say it's in St. Paul and to stay off the damn golf courses (hinting it's at a park with a G.C.

)

Clue #2 - I refer set your own pace to cross country skiing on the G.C. - Ace belongs to the par 3 hole directly behind the blue water tower - last 2 lines have no meaning.

Clue #3 - This is the most important clue by far - A tower or 2 should come into view in King Boreas direction...with King Boreas direction being north... if you drive north on Sneeling coming from West 7th St...you come over a huge hill, as you go over the hill, almost directly to the north you see the first big blue water tower, after a couple seconds the 2nd large blue water tower comes in to view after being hidden by the first. Meanwhile this all taking place almost directly to the north. Note: the clue says it will only be helpful if you are looking in King Bores direction.

Clue #4 - the clue to me refers to the 2 different G.C.'s...each having a clubhouse to GET OUT OF THE RAIN, also there is a large BBQ area to the east of the Frisbee Golf Course, also Tennis courts lead to the serve idea in line 2.

Clue #5 - s strictly hinting to you what the clue is in

This is just a hunch but I have noticed that all the activites listed in my explanations surround the Frisbee golf course...cooincidence? I think not : )

Also There is supposedly a dog sled event at Highland this weekend (chase?)

Anyway...let me know if I have sold you on highland or if you see any flaws in my devious plan!

Hey--If the person who writes the clues is reading this: Please! Please! Please! have pity on us. This is the worst I've ever seen it, we all have our ideas, but not many are sticking to any particulars this year! Clue writer, are you not human?

Newell's where I am going. Over the course of this day, I have watched people talk themeselves in and then out of Newell... I haven't been there yet, so I am still giving it go. Newell too obvious? Why not, then?

ShovelM, I'm in the same boat... Trying to lead and help out without giving away all I've worked for. Sometimes I think folks just want it spoon fed to them...

So, I try to help, but not give away the store. Or I did. All I did was get snipped at for not being team player kind'a purrson. Makes me wanna quit.

I want to help, but I don't want to be used, you know? Ittiz a fine line and hard to deal with. Guess we yust gotta the best way we can.

Highlander... you have some good ideas.... but unfortunately these clues don't seem to narrow down the field too "mush" yet....I totally agree that the towers have to be seen while looking north! I think the opposites attract has to do with cloudy & foul.... meaning sunny and ?? Could lead you to the area.... :))

there's a magnet school near battle creek.... 'attract' thing... battle creek is st.paul/maplewood. I started out thinking this one but am stuck in newell, which everyone else seems to think is too obvious. hmmm

Green: why is it so important to keep your idea to yourself? It is ONLY the 5th clue and no matter what you say it is only SPECULAATION...the medallion won't be found till the last clue anyway...have you not realized that yet?

Green;

You said all you needed, part of the fun is figuring these things out for oneself, but your help is greatly appreciated.

The section of Battle Creek that is near the "magnet" school and sliding hill is in St. Paul. The area across from 3M off McKnight is in Maplewood.

personally, and you can yell at me if you think i'm wrong, I think it's in battle creek near the shelter....in a grill???

Again it's all about "isms" This all works because we are capitalists. If we were communists, we'd all work together (in theory) and have the $ distributed to us all by Mom. However, since we were communists and human beings, we'd all be too lazy to dig and count on the other guy to do it and no one would ever find the medallion. This is the end of todays civics lesson.

I hear you green. But I do think the people that want it spoon fed, are those who wouldn't find it, if it was in their bowl of sphagettios. They sit here and look and watch what people are saying, once in awhile chiming in with.."what do you think about?..." screw them. They will walk outside once the park is widely determined, kick some snow with their boot and ghasp at their work load. I have worked hard already, spent lots of time, lost tons of sleep and we're only half way there. Thanks to those who are this way--I will give you a ride in my car, but I wont give you my car.

ShovelMaster -- i bust my ass every year looking for it, too. just because i come in here for ideas doesn't mean I want someone to tell me where it is so i can follow them to the park and walk behind them as they dig.

Lillian - I hear what you are saying. I've been to Newell twice. Was digging today. But, every time I get there something doesn't feel right and I talk myself out of it. When I get back home, I get excited about it again.

So, I am back to the drawing board and liking Linwood, Phalen or one other place. I can always go back to Newell if more clues point that way.

How long do you think they determine where it is going to be hid? And when do they start making the clue, it can't be an overnight thing, can it?

Thu, 01/27/2000 - 4:25 PM Permalink

The exact location is never laid out, just the proximity!!!
