It's a little fuzzy - but here is my N.Y.E photo. Its my best friend Gina, our guitar player friend Zach (his band hosted NYE) and me. It was a Pirate's Ball, and I was a wench. It's good to play a part you know first hand!

Ok, here some of the Norway pics I have. These were taken with a disposable camera and have since been scanned so I'm sorry about the quality. We didn't want to take chances with good cameras being were in sub zero conditions and were dragging all our gear across an entire glacier. Plus I was a PFC in the army at that time and I didn't have a whole lot of money to spend on me let alone a camera lol.

We spent 3 weeks between the Norge Home Guard school in Dombas and skiing on the Hardangerjøkulen and Døverfeld glaciers for a winter warfare school with Norways training officers.

Hardangerjøkulen is the 6th largest glacier in Norge and was one of the main areas they shot the opening scenes of The Empire Strikes back in back in the day.

The three weeks while fun and unforgetable was one of the hardest things I had ever done up to that point. The people of that country are wonderful too. Some of the kindest I met during the 3 years we lived in Europe.

Here's a shot of us on cognac night with the officers. Fun fun fun all around.

Here's a shot of them dropping us off about 45K from the school. We had 3 days to move back to the school on skis in two 8 man teams without being detected and or killed by the entire Norge Homeguard reserve unit that was out to kill us.

COLD COLD COLD.

However, I will say we were lucky on timing. Nothing says beautiful like being able to see the Hail Bop comet in the still of the night in a place like Norway. No lights, nothing but open beautiful sky.

I think this is the last one I have scanned at least. It's just a shot of our snowcaves from the outside. This was in the middle of construction.
