Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.

Clues:

Clue No. 1 (Sunday, Jan. 21)
Welcome ice and snow and temperatures low
There’s no time for cold feet!
For searchers’ pleasure we’ve parked the treasure
Where nature lovers each other greet

Clue No. 2 (Monday, Jan. 22)
Boreas\' vast realm can overwhelm
Even diggers used to the long haul
So here\'s advice to put your hunt on ice:
Look no farther than good old St. Paul

Clue No. 3 (Tuesday, Jan. 23)
Hunters can be surly but in clue-time it’s early
Be safe, friends, and in the hunt revel
Near land that is high the treasure is nigh
Vagueness rules and that’s on the level

My buddy lives across from arlington-arkright (sp?) and there is a portion that is fenced off and has a sign that says to keep off for turf restoration, does anyone know if that has been there for a while or if thats new?

Funny, I got the impression at Jake's kickoff party that Matty B's didn't want a bunch of people hanging out there if they weren't doing dinner. I guess I was wrong. It's a nice place to hang out. My only worry otherwise is to question how expensive will it be to hang out there all the time but the location certainly works.

what are the drink prices like? $8-12 a drink? if they are high end, they will gladly take your money in cocktails rather than dinner.
Tue, 01/09/2007 - 1:45 PM Permalink
Clue Master

They are a bit high. $6-8.

But 241's would help a bunch

Plus, who's eating at 9pm?

I like it. We are not a gang. We are a crew of medallion or treasure hunters.

I have never been to Matty B's so I will be anxious to check it out. I hope that they have the Sports Hernia Special in honor of Birk. Something like a cheap rail drink and if you slam it in a certain amount of time several Canadian Mounties wearing North Star jerseys come out and leg wrestle you! On a serious note, why have we decided to nix the Great Waters? I thought that there was talk of that being our headquarters. NOw I am not just mentioning that becasue I had a dream once that I had a threesome with their 4-Cheese appetizer pizza and a keg of Winter Carnival Ale, but I was just curious.

Kitch should sing something more up-to-date.... perhaps some Britney Spears.

ugh. Shots.. um yukon jack with tabasco in it is tolerable. I prefer to just drink my liquor straight the first time, and then shots aren't needed.

That's my song that I do. That or Barbie Girl. Occasionally I do Mickey - but if i've been drinking the words get jumbled.

Always wanted to do Romeo from Dolly Parton, but I'd need a guy who wasn't afraid to be Billy Ray and some other girls who wanted to touch his butt.

If i'm drunk enough, i've been known to do just about anything that people sign me up for...

I've been known to bust out a mean version of La Bamba, from time to time....

one time, while on a trip with my sister and 3 of my cousins/their significant others to Mt Rushmore/Devils Tower.... we were staying in a hotel, right next to a hick bar, that happended to have karaoke going on, that night....

The same 5 locals, who were there every week probably, were doing the same songs that they probably always do, while me and a cousin and a friend of ours were playing pool, and getting insanely wasted....

I ended up doing "Soul Man", and like 7 other mo-town songs, that they seemed like they had never even heard before, and ended up rocking the place....

Stassiu's over in North MPLS has a pretty mean Karaoke from time to time, that people (not me) have been booed out of.... thats just great.

That barbie girl song came out about or just before Thanksgiving of 97 right?

By buddie Richie had me driving all over Sarejavo looking for a black market copy of that cd.

I was a month into knowing Thomas was on his way too

Do we want to have a thread in here to discuss a possible new location for the PDG for next year? I know we talked about having a sheet at this year's PDG, but what about a thread to have the discussion so we can decide on something and have an announcement by the Rehash Bash?

I think those of us of a certain age always imagined this fellow driving around in a snowstorm at 2 a.m. in his 1959 Chevrolet Impala, looking for a snowdrift near a picnic table or a backstop in a city park and then trudging alone through the snow, a dark, cloaked figure, burying the loot.

<------------Raises hand

Thanks for the link

One, the coronation apparently was on the radio. Live.

I remember sitting by our radio, looking at the insert from the PP with all of the queens pictures, waiting for the announcement saying who was the new queen. I'm guessing that was in the early '50's.

I still have that old radio. It's on my front porch now and I listen to the Twins games on it. It only has AM of course, and shortwave. But I don't think anyone uses shortwave any longer because I never pick anything up on it. Haven't even had to replace any tubes on it and it's been sitting there for years.
