I went and got a copy of the stuff that was in my folder from the school district, a year or so after I graduated, to see what was in it... notes from teachers, and whatnot...
my favorite one is whatmy 3rd grade teacher said:
"Nicholas has been at the top of the class in reading, math and many other subjects, for most of the year, however he does not seem to want to stay on task.
He seems like he would much rather play with toys, brought from home, and talk (during lessons) to the girl students in class.
This student has a possibly bright future, but needs to focus more on staying on task, and achieving goals in the classroom"
she also included a "report card" of sorts.... it has numbers instead of letters, though.... ranging from 1-4.... I dont know whats good and whats bad, but its mostly 4's... with a couple of 3's mixed in.
I dont remember what exactly my "goals" were back then.... but it sounds like I was doing pretty good...
watch out for the 'gifted' teacher that teaches them though - when my girls were chosen for those classes the teacher was/is evil!!!!
you are all funny -
Whitney did well in the B, I am always so proud of her! but the most stuck up girl in the whole school won - she had EASY questions. What mountains is the Yeti known to wander? and what language do most chinese speak :eyeroll:
tim does very well most of the year but near the end of january his attendence and concentration suddenly bottom out and he doesn't recover until around mid february.
Dear CM's Mom, "Cluey pushed things today when he tried to undersell some joints at 3-4-5 when he knows the going rate is 2 bucks each. This type of pricing has a negative impact on the struggling smaller dealers in the school. Please ask him that if he can't adhere to the rules of basic consumerism he will need to move on to a different drug or a different school."
"P.S. We do appreciate his perfect attendance though"
It's cold here. like about 40, sunny and clear. (which is freezing to us) and windy too.
This morning I came in, and the slight hill we have between our lower and upper cellars (where redbear and I took our photo on the little brick step) was completely iced over.
They had to sand it and forklifts couldn't go up or down until about an hour ago.
I was in grade school the time Miami Vice came out. So I wanted to be a coke dealer like the cool kids on TV. I sold a kid a bag of coke for 5 dollars. I was probably 8?
Trouble is it wasn't actually coke, it was the closest thing that I could actually find that looked like coke, or what I thought it was, so the kid had serious nasal problems and had to be taken to the doctor to deal with snorting four quarts worth of Crystal Light lemonade mix.
I think I got suspended. Or yelled at. Don't remember.
my grandpa became divorced from grandma after 5 kids, mmmm, sometime in the early 1960's. He basically disappeared. No one knew where he was. Then one day in 1999 a man came to my grandmas door looking for her. My aunt just happened to be there and talked to him. He was the landlord of my grandpa. Grandpa was in the hospital dying and wanted to see grandma and pretty much ask for forgiveness kind of thing and say how sorry he was. ..... grandma had died 10 months prior.
:frown: :frown:
he died with-in 3 weeks - but 3 of the daughters and 2 grandkids (me and sis) got to talk to him and ask him questions. At least we got some kind of answers but it was hard and there is still so much I wish I could ask.
I really hope they can talk and mend into a friendship. I know I would want a friendship with my x, but, every situation is different. I know some x's that I can't be friends with. AND GOD KNOWS that men arn't good at being "just friends" (especially af--- but age may have a huge factor since sex drives are probably lower. I think some true friendships can come at a later stage in life.
oh and fyi, grandpa had been living in an apartment in downtown St. Paul this whole time. He worked as a door to door insurance salesman.
I love hearing the quirky things that the ER has to deal with. It would be a cool job to have to scan or enter medical records and get to read the stupid stuff people do to get into the ER or go to the dr. for.
If I were a doctor, I would mark charts with rolly eyes and DUH! or ::shakes head:: on them
I used to check the compliance of nurse charting in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
One time I was reading a chart and it logged:
Patient was found sitting on the floor next to her bed - eatting a jar of A&D ointment.
now to me - common sense if, if you find a patient EATING a jar of salve. You would follow up and chart on it/them for the next 24 hours (the protocol said the same thing)
There was NOTHING followed up on.
Needless to say - said nurse was canned, as was a couple others on that unit.
My Grandfather (Dad's stepdad) that just passed had a terrible r/s with my mom from the time I was 15 on. He wasn't the most pleasant man and she pretty much decided she didn't need him in her life (my gran had alzeheimers at by this time) 3 years later he and I went round and round in court for 4 year - with me finally winning custody of my gran (which pissed him off) About 7 or 8 years after the last court battle is when I finally broke down and went to see him. The next week, he fell and was in the hospital - never to return home (to the house Im now inheriting) I went to see him many times in the hospital when he first went in, as he was up here. Then he was transferred to San Jose (where I never got to go see him) I'm glad I made my peace with him, cause when it came time for me to bury him in October. I realized that there were many things about him I still didn't like, but that there were many good things that he had done for me when I was a kid - and bottom line is we are all human and make mistakes.
Took my dogs walking on Saturday - and we went to the lake. The large lake was fine, but the little lakes (that are like college sized swimming pools) were frozen. Not Solid granted, but solid enough that throwing large rocks would bounce off the ice.
I have NEVER in my life seen a pond here frozen before. SHOCKING. Cool and shocking!
Although I fed ex'd my winter clothes to MN, so I'm freezing right now.

toys and chicks? whats wrong with that?
watch out for the 'gifted' teacher that teaches them though - when my girls were chosen for those classes the teacher was/is evil!!!!

if I had to go with one - I'd say Mandarin.
Stephanie is very bright student. She would do much better if her ass ever sat in the chair for longer the a minute and a half!!!
Which was edited in high school to read,
"If her ass ever showed up"
tim does very well most of the year but near the end of january his attendence and concentration suddenly bottom out and he doesn't recover until around mid february.
Grats to the kids and parents. I love that stuff
"P.S. We do appreciate his perfect attendance though"
I have that on the same tape as "Full Metal Jacket"
Gibson Firebird. Among some of the other *new* guitars he's gotten since I came by 2 months ago.

This guy's movies rock!
All it took was for her to get colon cancer and stuck in a hospital for a week. :eyeroll:
