enjoy: tracking down phone bills from 2003 and managing at least 40 bucks over the "standard" tax credit amount for the refund of the federal excise tax on long distance phone service. people, if you got 'em, cash in on the refund you're entitled to!
Seeing my best friend, who is my rock (I'm the crazy neurotic one) break down and cry tonight
cause 1) his dad is losing his battle with cancer
2) the mother of his child (and 'current - though - don't know for how long) is being unreasonable and demanding, when he is trying to find time to spend with his pop.
(she refuses to let anyone watch the child outside of their home (i.e. to dads house which is 9 miles from theirs) even though his sister who is a nurse, who has 2 kids and watches the baby 3 days a week IN the house)
I didn't know what to do. All I could do was hold him and hug him.
Just heard from my band that my Visa debit card has been hacked. Apparently a lot of them were and mine was among them. I see no unusual activity on my account though, so that's good. But this account is still going to be valid until Feb. 9th so hope it stays quiet.
Just a hassle, that's all. Now I have to notify people who I pay by automatic withdrawal.
Could be worse. St. Paul police called my son and they had arrested a guy who had a card and two ID's in his name. Indiana and MN drivers licenses. He had charged a few thousand dollars worth of merchandise on the card. Apparently it was a new card that was stolen from his mail box.
Kids that run out in front of cars, after a snowfall, where the roads are very slick.
Had two choices. 1, hit the kid, get into a nasty lawsuit probably from distraught parents that let their kids run around and do stupid things like running out into a street. 2, bring my car to a controlled stop at a street sign.
Obviously took the 2nd option. Tried to get a police report for it, but the officer said, while I did the right thing, if he filed a report he'd have to write me a ticket for driving too fast given the conditions (I was driving 10 miles under the posted speed as it was..). So, car's in the shop now, and I feel like I'm outta the hunt this year. Hopefully I can get out over the weekend, if I feel like driving :eyeroll:
This would have to happen at this time of the year, when I already had plans about getting a new car and changing insurance companies and all sorts of other stuff. Kid most likely went home to play and forget the whole thing.
Sorry to hear about your plight, KC. :frown: Fortunately no one was hurt.
Kids don't have the common sense that adults do so they aren't aware of the danger most of the time.
I was hit by a car when I was a little girl. I ran out in the street between two parked cars. And my parents had nothing to do with it. In fact, they had told me I couldn't go to the store with my little girl friend and that's where I got hit.
Did you check to see if your insurance covers a loaner? I had a car stolen once and insurance paid for a rental for a couple of weeks. I actually ended up buying the rental car!
Yeah, I'm glad nobody got hurt. Just hope the girl learned a lesson (somehow I'm not sure she did). I don't think I could live with myself if I'd hit any person anyways.
All the same, nah, damage isn't enough to total it, it was just one of those metal posts. Enough to stop the car. Amazingly the airbags didn't go off, that tells ya I didn't hit with a lot of force. Still, cars these days are designed to crumple up like tinfoil when they hit anything.
Sucky part is my insurance will probably go up (I found out I was already paying too much with the company I was with).
Anyone aware of any laws involving having to stay with an insurance company after filing a claim? I'd still like to switch with my new car, but now I don't know if I'll be able to.
I can rent a car up to 30 bucks a day, except I really don't want to go through the hassle. Getting the car fixed is gonna be enough hassle for me, given insurance companies exist to A. Take your money and B. Make things miserable when you try to get some of it back.
Only thing that gets me is this was near a sledding hill in my neighborhood. After the accident, we found the girl sledding on the hill there, and talked to her for a couple minutes. Some parents showed up to take their kids sledding, and one of them told the girl "You have the right to cross there".
Ummm.. you also have to remember to look both ways before you cross a street, anywhere you cross... duhhhhhh...
waiting to see if my weekend is shot. We're switching over to a new software system, and they picked now to do it. Since I'm all that resembles an IT dept, I'll be spending a weekend making sure it's up and running, so the changeover is as smooth as possible.
I'm going to be sooo upset if I don't even get out to a park this year to look.
Cars, jobs, people, everything has worked against me this year :coolfrown: Maybe I can try the old 11th clue wander out to a park and pick it up angle. You know, not working for it, just finding it.
no longer having a dad.
you can keep him. no thanks. not mine anymore.
I dont know what i'm supposed to do, anymore.
cause 1) his dad is losing his battle with cancer
2) the mother of his child (and 'current - though - don't know for how long) is being unreasonable and demanding, when he is trying to find time to spend with his pop.

I dont know what the hell i'm supposed to do anymore....
the only thing you have to do.. is find the medallion.
the rest of life? is simple next to that.
repeat after me... the medallion is my friend... the medallion is my friend.
good. keep going.
life just became not so simple for me today...
that is why you take the good (hunting) and the bad (everything else) and you push the bad to the back, until the good culminates.
just came to a head today....
huge ass fight with my dad..... in the end, i'm no longer his son, and he's no longer my dad.....
I have clothes and CD's....
and everything else I own is still at that house....
and I cant even go back to get it...
I'll be surprised if he doesnt just throw everything away...
I cant stay where i'm at for a very long time....
actually I could.... I just dont know if I want to..
I seriously have no f'n idea as to what to do/where to go from here.
I feel so far from everything that I know... and I'm so damn scared....
seems to me your dad could use it, and you could use your dad.
:frown: :frown: :frown:
I just get that way sometimes?
whoops...
my bad.... :coolfrown:

SHOULD CLOSE THE CARD NO. AND REISSUE YOU ANOTHER CARD....
Maybe they can't cancel right away so that there won't be any outstanding legitimate charges on it?

If I'm lucky I'll hit up the line at the paper over the weekend. Again, depends on when I get my car back/get my new car.

can they "total" your car so you can pump that $$ into your new one?
I consider this to be the worst hunt ever so far ....even though the clues are pretty good.
I'm sure my worst will be someone elses best

You're in a band???
Smart aleck. :eyeroll: :goofy:
However I'm sure there are 10,000 other people that could too.
